So you go to class and then a few days later or even worse when the test comes you can't remember what you learned in class!
    It's terrible.
You feel like you aren't smart or you wasted all the time learning because you can't memorize your notes and remember what you learn in class.
This video I give my tips on exactly how to memorize your notes:
    1. In order to memorize your notes it only makes sense that you have to take notes. I am a memory expert and 2 time USA Memory Champion yet I always take notes in class. I don't try to memorize as the instructor is teaching. Instead I take notes in class and then late I will work to memorize my notes.
    2. When taking notes use different color highlighters to remember group the concepts in your notes. For example if it is a history test you may want to highlight all the world leaders names in blue and the cities in red. Just something so when you look at your notes it jumps out at you and makes it more of a picture. Your mind remembers pictures. So if you want to memorize your notes and remember what you learn in class by highlighting this groups them in your memory.
    3. Ask questions in class and be engaged. It only makes sense if you are talking at asking questions this forces your brain to think and engage and there is a much better chance you will recall what you are learning in class
    4. Talk to people and ask questions after class. When you start having conversations about what you learned in class this conversation will not only allow you to hear other people's perspectives it may clear some things up for you and you might clear some things from class up for them. But also this will help you to remember what you learned in class because you were reviewing it by talking about it.
    5. Use a memory technique. My favorite memory technique to memorize anything (not just notes) is known as the Mind Palace. I did an entire video on the Mind Palace technique and it is really good if I do say so myself • How to Memorize Fast a...
These are some of my best tips to memorize your notes and remember what you learn in class.
I hope you find this helpful and you like my videos
    Thank you

No it's not being weird or anything like that. The problem is that you most likely put pressure on yourself too much and you focus on results too much. The reason you memorize quick and forget quick is because after you let's say memorise what you read, you most likely don't rehearse it. Rehearse(practice) what you read, memorise, etc and you will see that you just took an approach that was not backed up by anything solid.
Ps: I'm just trying to improve myself by trying to improve others..

What I did for a while was visit national trust properties, I could then take photos of the various rooms these can then be played back and used for alternative places ... the technique does work well however I’m now over 50 and not doing exams so lost interest in the technique once I’d established it worked. Which I’d have known about it when I was studying all those years ago as it saves a lot of time and with practise is pretty flawless.

This method works great for me for memorizing just about anything... except for math formulas or coding languages. The only method I've found to work for that type of information is to write them out by hand over and over and magically, after enough repetition, they become emblazoned forever.

I heard of another way to remember things. It is more for remembering where in a house something is (so you don't lose things). Not really related to this video, per se.
You look at the object (keys for instance), and you say out loud (if you're not bothering others by doing so) "I'm putting my keys on the table by the door." You say it in a sentence.
Makes it much easier to remember where you put stuff. But you have to be actively paying attention to where you're putting stuff for this to work. Just taking the time to stop and say where you're putting stuff will help you to stop losing so many things. :)

Mohsen Sedigh i dont understad what you need exactly, my english is not good and i have not toefl certification haha, you could combine mind maps with the palace of ron or other memory systems, i make creative stories and simplify a lot the information first, this way is easier. so you can train a lot of times because information is less and easier. i dont understad how to use the palace well but is very powerful. but you have to understand well before memorysing it.

I have a question about the memory/mind palace. How is it helpful if you run out of objects to number or you have too much to remember? Are you supposed to reuse the same furniture to remember things with. I think that the system it great, and I've used it somewhat. But that question of when I'll run out of room in my mind house to put stuff into. It will eventually become full. Thoughts?

    • @LearnToJuggleNOW
      @LearnToJuggleNOW 8 ปีที่แล้ว

+Lego9663 Studios You're not limited to the furniture in your home, any place you've ever been to can be used, even if your memory of it is very vague. You can even use some video games levels if you feel like it. You should do some more reading on the subject, Ron White's website memrise is great, but you should also check the "artofmemory" and "mullenmemory" websites and read the book Moonwalking With Einstein.

    - Monitor Internal Controls: Continuously monitor, benchmark and improve
the IT control environment and control framework to meet organizational
    objectives.
    - Review Business Process Controls Effectiveness: Review the operation
of controls, including a review of monitoring and test evidence to ensure that
controls within business processes operate effectively. It also includes
activities to maintain evidence of the effective operation of controls through
mechanisms such as periodic testing of controls, continuous controls
monitoring, independent assessments, command and control centers, and
network operations centers. This provides the business with the assurance
of control effectiveness to meet requirements related to business, regulatory
    and social responsibilities.
    - Perform Control Self-assessments: Encourage management and process
owners to take positive ownership of control improvement through a
continuing program of self- assessment to evaluate the completeness and
effectiveness of management’s control over processes, policies and
    contracts.
    - Identify and Report Control Deficiencies: Identify control deficiencies and
analyze and identify their underlying root causes. Escalate control
    deficiencies and report to stakeholders.
    - Ensure that assurance providers are independent and qualified: Ensure
that the entities performing assurance are independent from the function,
groups or organizations in scope. The entities performing assurance should
demonstrate an appropriate attitude and appearance, competence in the
skills and knowledge necessary to perform assurance, and adherence to
codes of ethics and professional standards.
    - Plan Assurance Initiatives: Plan assurance initiatives based on enterprise
objectives and conformance objectives, assurance objectives and strategic
priorities, inherent risk resource constraints, and sufficient knowledge of the
    enterprise.
-Scope assurance initiatives: Define and agree with management on the
scope of the assurance initiative, based on the assurance objectives.
    - Execute assurance initiatives: Execute the planned assurance initiative.
Report on identified findings. Provide positive assurance opinions, where
appropriate, and recommendations for improvement relating to identified
operational performance, external compliance and internal control system
    residual risks.
    Or another one:
The COBIT 5 framework describes seven categories of enablers, which are as
    follows:
    - Principles, Policies and Frameworks are the vehicle to translate the
desired behavior into practical guidance for day-to-day management.
    - Processes describe an organized set of practices and activities to achieve
certain objectives and produce a set of outputs in support of achieving
    overall IT-related goals.
    - Organizational structures are the key decision-making entities in an
    enterprise.
    - Culture, Ethics and Behavior of individuals and of the enterprise is very
often underestimated as a success factor in governance and management
    activities.
    - Information is pervasive throughout any organization and includes all information produced and used by the enterprise. Information is required for
keeping the organization running and well governed, but at the operational
level, information is very often the key product of the enterprise itself.
    - Services, Infrastructure and Applications include the infrastructure,
technology and applications that provide the enterprise with information
technology processing and services. People, Skills and Competencies are linked to people and are required for
successful completion of all activities and for making correct decisions and
    taking corrective actions.

Awesome video, I'm a medicine student and the amount of information that have to be memorize is HUGE, it requires a lot of memorization. The mind palace is wonderful for memorizing BUT I reached a wall, because I'm not allow to forget information all the places I =know, house, university, old school, my way home, my girlfriend house, my friends houses, malls, market places, church all are FULL and I cant re-use them because that means i'll be forgetting information to put new information. Exposing this problem, what will you do in this situation?

+roderick hurtado Any place you've ever been to can be used, even you've only been there once. You can even use some video games levels if you feel like it. Sometimes I'll go out with my cell phone video camera just to pick up some new memory palaces. Alex Mullen has a good video answer to this question on his mullenmemory website. Also if you imagine yourself as a small rat and use miniature versions of your images you can make everything look bigger and cram much images in a smaller place.

+roderick hurtado If you create a different visual memory that relates to the location and the item (the patella is on the sofa relaxing with the blanket over it for the anatomy test, and the banana is on the couch smooshed all over the cushions for your grocery list etc.) for each item, you can reuse the place over and over and over... you can use the same places for many lists that you use any time by doing this.
