Thank you a lot - I'm glad you find them so useful,. For sure that encourages me to create more of them. Even after all this time, I can always find something new and useful in krita. When I'll find another thing worth talking about, I'll try to make a video about it as well ;)
@@wojtryb I'm not sure how interesting it might be because I haven't done much digging on it myself yet, but there is a brush engine that allows you to use filters like brushes. And you can apply them in different blending modes, so it has a double effect. I usually use them for final touches, but maybe you could find out more interesting uses for them and come up with some interesting brushes. You don't have to, it's just like a thought =)
That sounds like an idea for a video :D thank you, I didn't knew about anything like that. I still haven't dig into other brush engine either, do maybe that's a good place to search for new workflow ideas. If I find something interesting there maybe I'll decide to do another video. But for now I just need to get better at creating those animated stamps, as I'm sure I haven't reached even a small part of it's true potential ;)
Thanks wojtryb. I created the rooftop tile brush and helped a lot in creating a painting I was doing of an old rooftop. You have a great understanding of the mechanics of Krita. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us.
Oh, I'm glad you found it useful. I haven't used it much since I made this particular artwork to be honest. But it's a great tool, and got way faster between krita 4 and 5 - I should have some more fun with it once again :)
hi, I was wondering what we could do when the GIH file has no thumbnail? The brush is working perfectly, but it just didnt have those brush outlines whenever you use said brush :(
Do you know if it's possible to use the original colors of the imported layers? I'm using Color Image as Brush Mode, but it looks like it only supports grayscale?
Looks like you have understood Krita Brush system well. Can you please make a video explaining it. As Krita tutorials are less available. I am always searching for a good tutorial which explains 1. Krita Layer -styles- *Blending Modes* and where they can be used? and 2. Krita Brush engine. Please look into it in your free time.
I haven't really used layer styles too much, and don't really plan to make s video about them, but I think that some tutorials on brush engines and brush creation are quite likely.
@@wojtryb 😅 Sorry. I mean Layer *Blending Modes* , Krita has many, compared to photoshop. And their common usage. For example for Shadow, Glow etc... which Blend mode is used. and Possible, Per Blend Mode, use cases.
@@Endangereds Ah, yeah - these are more of a material for video :) But also not a one to be done anyday soon - I have to admit I nearly don't use those in my illustrations at all, so I can't share much experience about them at this point.
Unluckily no - the feature comes from GIMP and has only a very few options to pick from (and no way od adjusting it). If there was a way to override those settings in a brush and make it a usual krita output, then it would be possible to do this sort of stuff, as there is a "perspective" input in the brush engine. I guess more people would have to start to create and use animated brushes to ask developers to add a feature like this.
@@wojtryb Somehow I feel this is unlikely. I'll see how far I can push this technique with 3D assets combined. Maybe I'll take a look at some of the documentation on this feature.
Thank you for linking me your video on Krita forums today. This is a very helpful video!
Glad it worked for you. You're welcome :)
Bravo!!! This is one of the best tutorials I have encountered.
That's very kind of you. Thank you!
OMG! Thank you very much for this awesome tutorial! Each of your videos is very helpful and I'll look forward to the next one!

Yeah, it should. You're welcome :)
thanks, never knew this could be done
That's a well hidden feature - there are only a few of these in default set. Had to figure out how to make those animated tips ;)
Great Tutorial ! Thank you for your detailed explanations.
Very glad to hear that :) you're welcome

Ohh I had to disable Use Color as Mask when exporting...
Amazing! Thanks for the tutorial!
No problem. Glad you like it :)
Thank you! Absolutely fabulous tutorial! I'll be using these brushtips a lot more often!

pobrałem sobie te pędzle oraz zrobiłem kilka tylko z jakiegoś powodu żaden z pędzli nie ma koloru który wybrałem. robię coś nie tak?

Hi, happy new year! Can you update your tutorial of krita's interface for new version of krita? I can't change the all things.
I don't think there were any major changes to Krita interface.
What can't you change exactly?
how to increase brush presetsshown in right click radial brush menu?
Go to Settings -> Configure Krita -> General -> Miscellaneous -> Number of Palette Presets. You can change the default 10 to something more like 20.
Thumb it down??? Dude I'd give you way more, than one thumbs up if I could. This was amazing, thank you!
Huh, so you watched it to the end? :D Thank you!
Your brushes seems to be very promising. What about some speedpainting (or slow painting) something?
I have a whole illustration process recorded, but it waits for me having the time to edit it.

Yes, 3d assets should do well here. Good luck with that :)

THIS IS TOO USEFULL
Glad you find it so!
7:04 I think you should be able to get the same "slight changes" behaviour just by using the default curve + small value of "Strength".

Yeah, I always forget that I have this multiplier at the top of each curve ;) Thanks for pointing that out.
