I regret to inform you guys that Samm passed away this morning. He was in a motorcycle accident a few days ago and wasnt able to survive his injuries. Thank you all for supporting him through his youtube career!
Dang man. I roomed with the guy a year ago back in Walla Walla. I wasn't all that close with him but I figured he'd be the next Elon Musk. I'm sorry to hear 😢
this was the only video of samms' i ever watched and i finished it before reading the comments and finding out he had passed still leaves a small hole in my heart RIP
I've been subbed to you for almost 3 years, your videos were always amongst my absolute favorites and i looked forward to seeing the interesting stuff you were doing. Was curious why we hadn't heard from you and looked up your channel this morning, have been crying the whole day since hearing the news. I'm sorry to see you go man. Hate goodbyes.
I did the same thing 3 months ago for extra credit in my physics class, but didn't get to launch because I didn't want to burn down the other half of california
Like for many others, this is the first video by Samm I've ever watched. It shocked me to read in the comments that he passed away. I didn't know him but I'm sure that he was an amazing person. Inspiring others is the most noble thing you can do in your life. Thanks Samm. Rest in peace.
Ha! I’m my engineering class I did this as my little side project, made my first one this February just before the release of this and made my mk.2 earlier this week! Nice job, my fellow aeronautically inclined fellow
I followed your video on the DIY drone built. Dude there is so much settings and time to spend on it. Took me 2 weekends to get it working and it is still not 100% done. I didnt even eat on some days just trying to figure everything out. Ps i am student pilot. Hope to see you around at random FBOs.
Yea I bet capping the bottom and then shelling it would work better. Or maybe just make it a solid and let the 3D printer hollow it out with a tiny bit of infill. Really should just learn fusion 360 better
Haha awesome! We got to 3D print a rocket like that at a camp this past summer. Anyways, I got the Geeetech i3 wooden version and for some reason the extruder gear keeps skipping. I checked the set screws, motor voltage, adjusted slicer settings etc. I know you bought this printer and it seems like its working find for your, did you have to change anything in order to make it work?
I wasn’t really waking videos back then so I don’t have much documentation. I was just playing around. It was an APM 2.6 and I used APM Plane firmware to configure it
Always really nice to hear from you. I really admire your job. For the tube rocket all you need to do is reprint the nose cone and add a rubber band between the nose and tube. midway add a shoot or ribbon. boom... multi use. Add wadding as well but I'm guessing you new all of this. Either way great to see a nice update video 👌
Holy shit a Samm video! I am always happy to see a notification! Edit: Flying around organ transplants? That's really cool! also I love the use of the cardboard tube from a paper towel roll.
You always do great interesting and smart videos nice job , good seeing someone use rhino , it's awesome and so powerful and easy to learn. Nice job mate.
I wish, bloke had some great ideas floating around in his head and saved more people than we'll ever know thanks to flying organ donations. I'm just glad he was doing something he loved when he passed, riding his motorbike.
hello! this is totally irrelevant to this video and more of a general question to you. lets say i want to design an airplane. id like to have as much creative freedom as possible in the design. with that in mind are some wing designs/air plane designs just impossible? if so how can i avoid these detrimental points. sorry for the vague question to its kinda broad and might be hard to answer.
I would love so much to see him answering your comment... Unfortunately he won't reply to his viewers anymore... He died, check his last video....so bad
Haha, it's funny how you talk about the operations within Rhino. I mean, I know Rhino by heart so I know what you're talking about, but for most viewers I think they are just some random terms :) Would be interesting for them if you would explain which program you're using first before talking about those terms. Nice try on the rocket, sadly in my country there is only a little open space to launch a rocket and you have to be a member of a club which is expensive. Totally blows!
RIP Samm will be missed.
I just found this video. Came here to learn not to cry 😢
RIP Samm

For real, he was a huge inspiration. Thanks for your kind words.
Zingier Barbecue thank you John.
Wait is this legit? If so, thats a huge loss, watching his videos is inspiring and humanity lost a great mind.
it is sadly very legit :(

He is still somewhere flying his centrifugal fan plane on a sunny beach, he s not dead, he can't be dead
I did the same thing 3 months ago for extra credit in my physics class, but didn't get to launch because I didn't want to burn down the other half of california
Yea careful with California. It’s very flammable
Samm Sheperd
Excuse me do you have any engineer kits that i can buy that has electronical components and frames???
@@SammSheperd how are you Sam
@samm he is dead
Now I'm sad.. rest in peace sir.
2:26 lol, just connects the wires to a lipo for ignition XD
You taught me about vortex generators. For that I am eternally grateful. Rest easy man.

Welcome to Portland! And also you’ve just added one more item to the list of reasons why I want a 3d printer. 😃
Sam I have only recently found out you have passed away but late or not you are a legend I hope your flying RC in the sky 👍
RIP Samm.. you will be missed dearly.
Flying organ transplants in jets? Wow... Impressive!

he had such a nice beamer! ):
It´s always nice to see some unexpected Beaver footage - and I greatly enjoyed the rest of the video as well.
Really nice work, man. And have great flights over there. 😊
“Woah” 0:48
-Forrest Sheperd 2K17/2K18
Forrest Sheperd your cameo appearance in this vid was great! Tell Samm to put you in more shots!
3:19 have you been to munich?
Miss your videos man. Just got around to 3d printing rockets and i just wish i could share it with you
R.I.P
Sam, I know that you won’t see this anymore but you remind me of Trevor flying arms shipments in GTA. RIP Sam.
😂
yo, those are some sick lenticular clouds, or whatever they're called, at the end :D
We miss you.
You should put those rockets on an rc plane. And there you have an air to surface rocket!
I love done that before in an earlier video
Do I sure miss Samm... hope his family is doing well.
Congrats! Captain Joe mentioned you in his latest video!
Yea!!
RIP Sam

No more washingtonian... now an origonian. Lol love those shots from the plane.
RIP
RIP SAM
Good to see you're not posting at 2 in the morning this time :D
Hahah I almost did last night but stopped myself to actually fix some things and wait to re-upload and all. I’m usually too impatient
How did you get a German licensed car to portland? at 3:19
Also, glad you're back to making some videos :D
Well done mate!!
Try the shell command in rhino if it's in your version as an alternative to offset surface , works bit better for hollowing out complex stuff.
Yea I bet capping the bottom and then shelling it would work better. Or maybe just make it a solid and let the 3D printer hollow it out with a tiny bit of infill. Really should just learn fusion 360 better
It's really sad and almost scary seeing all the replies he made to comments. RIP, we will miss you
Rip
Now you live my state, wish you could give me some pilot lessons lol.
Boeing Field at 3:44! Not sure what the one before that was...
It was also KBFI but from the south. But the camera was looking at KSEA
Ah, of course, you were over Tukwila. I grew up in Washington. :)

It’s the nozzle clogging up. Make it hotter and print slower. Maybe try clearing the blockage. Clogged extenders are a real pain
My printrbot sometimes does that too
Missing u
try to make an rc plane that you can mid air refuel (change batteries) with another plane in the air
nice one, maybe you should add parachute thing
Hey dude! Just wanted to let you know that your 60 subs away from 100K! Great video.
Nice video man.
what is the 3d modeling software and 3d printing software that you have used ??
Modeling is Rhino, but if recommend Fusion 360. Printing software is Cura
rhinoceros and cura, in that order.
I heard in one of your old videos that you did a DIY autopilot with an arduino, is there a video about that? or maybe a blog post?
I wasn’t really waking videos back then so I don’t have much documentation. I was just playing around. It was an APM 2.6 and I used APM Plane firmware to configure it
Rip.
when will you post again?
blopady blop he passed away 8/7/18 in a motorcycle accident
Can't believe it
Carlee Walker he asked that before he died

It doesn’t go that high and I’ve had no problem finding and re-using the cone. Great tip from normal rocketry though.
you could of made a second stage with the separated ends, and a parachute... but that's a bit tricky lol
You're giving advice to someone who passed away in 2018
Neat stuff!
Holy shit a Samm video! I am always happy to see a notification!
Edit: Flying around organ transplants? That's really cool! also I love the use of the cardboard tube from a paper towel roll.
I’m 3D printing a race drone out of CF plastic. What’s the cheapest *True* VR/FPV kit on the market?
0:59 Yesterday i asked you to fill in the ________
YIAY GUY
Do you think you could make a drone 3d printed
I have a video where that is the case. One of my first drone vids
What ratings do you have? Also do you have a commercial license?
I am a Certified Flight instructor (CFI)
And also a commercial pilot for both single and multi-engine airplanes
Samm Sheperd Cool!
never clicked on a video so fast
Yaaaasss a new video :D
nice e92! you still have the munich plate on??? :D
I just really haven’t cared to take it off
if its legal why not? looks good ^^
YAY you're alive
Johnny Kane not anymore
Nice m3!
WHAT when and how did you get a type rating?
You always do great interesting and smart videos nice job , good seeing someone use rhino , it's awesome and so powerful and easy to learn. Nice job mate.
But at the same time such a pain in the ass if you don’t do things right.
3D print a turbo pump?
Yes, new video!
At least it’s something I guess
It is. But even if it wouldn't then your calming voice would still be enough (#nohomo, just exam period)
3:29 Cessna citation?
CJ3 yes
Do you use soild works?
he is dead
You know you can just print thread on the 2 pieces so the screw together
Unfortunately your comment falls on absent ears - he died over 2 years ago.
what program is he using on mac?
Nooooooo whyyyy
What is the best LiPo charger?
imax b6ac
Thanks
Hey quick question. How can i find the center of lift on a plane?
Start by focusing on the real world, over video games. then, by learning anything at all about the topic, you'll know how to do that.
3d modeling with a track pad makes my heart hurt but the rest of this video is good.
Would be great if you fix a Samsung 360 gear cam to your plane. That would be awesome in VR.
It’s illegal to be on your phone when you’re in a car, is it illegal on a plane?
Him: watch me
lol im making a 3d printed rocket with 2.5 pounds of solid fuel.
Software name
Which CAD program are you using?
That is Rhino, but I’d recommend Fusion360
TH-cam sleeps on this dude
I don’t get it
I do
I'm saying you should have more subscribers for the content you put out
Forrest Sheperd you get everything. Explain
Murey Tasroc ha! I Should have scrolled down-thanks!
Nice e92.
Thank you
How are you doing Sam?
.....dude, he died.
@@grumpyaustralian6631 say what?

Nice car!
Why is you car registred in Germany ?
Shoutout KBFI, do my flight training there!
Nice! Busy place to learn but it makes you better!
Your back !!!!!!
I live in Portland!
Well hello then
Welcome to PDX, neighbor!
Hey thanks!
$20 not bad. $42. no joy. Fix the shipping and I will buy and fly one. but I am not paying over $21 to ship it :-) also put a parachute in it. :-)
I have no idea how much eBay is charging to ship. I’ll see if I can fix it here soon

oh.......... :/
$45 for two relatively small 3D printed parts?
Eh.. come on lol
Anyone can go to the store and get a legit Estes kit for the same price.
Yea from my perspective I guess I don’t actually want to sell them but wanted to experiment with it. I’ll lower the price cause that is rediculous
So much knowledge l that l need to learn from you.
Can you 3D print wheels
Sure but why

Really didn’t think about it all that hard. Not a tutorial but maybe a glimpse into the process would be interesting or inspiring
Awesome!
Was that your car?
Yes. See insta for more pics
Sweet. Well done, hombre. Looks like things are going well.
Did someone ship a car with a German (Munich) license plate to the US? Why? Wouldn't it be cheaper to rent one locally?
May car. Fake plate
