Yes of course first you have pain but when the death start finishing then your happy especially after something like that you said ! I think dying is not painful the whole process before dying yes but not the actual dying
This is so philosophical. The song talks about how death is just a transition to another form. That our whole being is not completely erased or wiped out once we die. Instead we are absorbed by other beings that needs it, therefore contributing to the cycle of life. I had a philosophy teacher that discussed about such topic. It is such a comfortable feeling to be able to break out of our tunneled perspective. Man, I love that professor's passion.
Its honestly refreshing to see a song conveying death and human vitality through the concept of Absurdism, rather than a complete Nihilistic view... been obsessed for weeks, and the video ate 😭
It’s also pretty nihilistic. No point in human rights or trying to protect the environment, because it’s all cope. Embrace the complete meaninglessness of everything. We are all nothing surrounded by a universe that doesn’t care about us on a dying planet that we ruined.
@@joegibbskins yeah but that doesn't work for a lot of ppl. People with depression (me lol), find a strong desire to assess meaning to life. I've had to create multiple purposes, multiple mental frameworks including self discipline to feel satisfaction with a life that most likely is futile. I enjoy the honest observation of nihilism but I also enjoy the fighting spirit of hope. i think both have value, but purely one can lead to toxicity
@@charlesairiohuodion7772 I mean I tried to kill myself three times in my 20s and am now relatively happy and stable and had to use all the methods you wrote about and also genuinely care about the environment and human rights. I was just pointing out that this song, while a bop, has pretty gross implications
@@joegibbskins ah ok ic. I took it at literal value. I'm honestly happy that your life turned around so drastically thru your effort. Everyone is different, some people can exist even thrive without purpose or frameworks, which is something I'd like to study more...meaning I'm sure there are such thing as nihilists who have either practiced happiness and success or maybe they can go thru life well without worrying about happiness and success. I think the song takes a perspective like in the entirety of the universe or the outside view of a human life. Honestly some of the lyrics i literally had to do...i had to assign meaning to my life because I didn't inherently feel it. I like multiple perspectives because everything worth while should be challenged (including belief systems) and questioned. Plus the song makes you think deeply...how many songs readily do that? But yes, I agree with you, the ultimate message of the song is....nothing matters...but maybe its deeper...because nothing matters, maybe everything can matter and to not worry about it so much. This Rick and Morty helped me get a different perspective th-cam.com/video/ez1rWBPznEc/w-d-xo.html
it's extremely nihilistic. The lyrics literally discuss the we obsess over ego and lie to ourselves about our importance while living in fear of time, when in reality we are all here entirely by chance just like everything else so we should stop pretending we are important and simply "look at the sky, because we are all going to die". The entirety of the lyrics is a nihilistic view of the world.
there is something so fiercely liberating about this song, at the end of the day we are all gonna die on this floating rock floating in space, NONE of this matters ❤️
I was driving to my interview for a funeral home yesterday (something I genuinely wanted) & I started a long overdue healing process & gained confidence for my interview bc of this song as it came on my suggested songs playlist. This song had made me a proud listener 24/7 now.
Nice to see young artists providing with wise lyrics the world needs to hear. To face fears and accept the wholeness of life. You have a promising future :)
This has become one of my favourite songs of all time! It's so damn underrated, It deserves to be no.1 on the charts. The philosophical angle is too damn good!
जीवो जीवस्य जीवनम् (jīvo jīvasya jīvanam) - one living being is food for another - Srimad Bhagavatam. Juliet Ivy giving us philosophical lessons, what a song!
I've been obsessed with this song for a couple months at least. The incredibly descriptive lyrics posing an argument that life is too short to be subjugated to societal demands of us to keep up a facade while posing the solution that we take in the aspects of life that we should be experiencing but aren't. Fucking amazing. Juliet is incredibly beautiful as well and I don't think I've seen her before. What a way to experience all of this together lol.
@@julietivy of course :). I feel that so many songs sound nice but gets harder to find people who describe those things in any deeper way. I definitely hope I get to see you live at some point. I assume the vibes in a concert setting are even better lol
As someone who has thanatophobia aka phobia of death, I never found a song that gives me so much comfort with the idea of it. I smiled so wide whenever I saw this on my Instagram and I’m so proud you got to do a MV on it. Hope your career keeps on going upwards because you deserve it so much! Thank you for this.
are you afraid of dying or being dead? i think the answer of what happens is simple. its exactly like what it was like before you were born - nonexistent.
I've got mild effects of it. Like when you think too deep. You'll got a sudden chill on your spine and all your limbs goes cold and you'll have a mini panic attack until your brain release a chemical to calm yourself down.
I never knew about this song, a close friend went missing around now last year, and one day i couldn't handle it, i remember scrolling on fb and this tune kept stopping on different versions of this you know scroll down with your thumb and it stops it stopped on this tune i just tapped it and what a beautiful and real song about death. I think my friend did that, i know she did we always talked about music and we had the same emo list of tunes. It kept me from a serious breakdown. This song was presented to me and i wasnt looking for one. There's a live vetsion too Thank you Julie for this song
I just want to say thank you. I made the mistake of listening to this while I was out for a walk. Once the lyrics hit me I just started to ball. I cried hard. I needed to cry so badly. I just wish I wasnt in the middle of the street lol This song is so important. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Dude this song is an earworm, i'm totes ok with it burrowing in my head. Some of the best lyrics I've heard in years. Top Tier. Think I need to do a metal cover :P
I like how the brief record scratch sound and sudden swift movement of the sun at the very end illustrate one of the themes of the song which is that life goes by quickly.
If I were to describe this song in a word - liberating. I was at crossroads quite recently. Being in my 30s and wondering if I should leave my job and go on an adventure. noooope, a blind girl here and everyone talks about the video awww :'( but nevermind your lyrics are awesome and u sound like a poet... aaand finally a song that's not about love.. eactly what I need rn
I think the lyrics and melody speak so loudly for this you dont really need the video to appreciate it. But the things I think that are cute in this video are the singer putting on lipstick for eyeshadow (in a somewhat sloppy manner) and her pretending to talk in a high heeled shoe like a cell phone and hanging high heels on a clothes line outside. Like sometimes doing totally weird things if you want to. Even if people think it weird cause 'Hey were all gonna die someday' have a bit of fun and enjoy yourself
finally u made a MV for this song ~ i've been loving it since i listened to PlayPen ~ i really like the mindset that everyone would die oneday so just accept it and let it be, love the way u put this message so optimistic 🥰🥰🥰
