  • Chasing really really quiet crunch sounds with the Boss Katana 100 mkii. Crunch channel, Gain at about 30 to 40%, EQ at noon with the presence off. Volume is at noon while the master is 20 to 25% on the 50 watt mode. Really reasonable volumes and it sounds good with a cheap mic in front of it (Behringer B906 sennheiser copy). Guitar is a 1980s Made in Japan 'by Navigator' Edwards Les Paul.

Edwards sounds pretty easy on the wallet, Navigator sounds very hefty in that regard. Not sure where this falls to, but you make it sound pretty damn good my boy..

Thank you! I've been trying to find out more information about these guitars but there seems to be a great deal of disagreement online. I'm not sure what distinguishes a 'By Navigator' stamped Edwards from a 'By ESP' Edwards apart from when they were roughly produced. At the very least, I got this guitar for a pretty good price and wasn't charged a substantial premium. Would love to try a Navigator LP at some point.
