Trust me, I know that feel. I used to have horrible arachnophobia, but I got sick of being scared of tiny things and started studying spiders as a way to conquer my fear. Took me about a year and a half, but eventually I got better. Now I just study spiders and insects as a hobby.

Every game is designed to output the wii speaker noise via the regular speaker when it's muted in the wii home menu. I did that cause wii speakers sound fucking awful.
My mom rented me this game from blockbuster when I was 11. I saw a man sized mantis and immediately shut the game off. I had nightmares for weeks. Good game one of my favs, ty for good videeo
Yeah gotta third this one - just press the home button and go to controller options if i remember right. I did that pretty much straight away and forever as that speaker eats batteries. Also - Hor Thigh Heels has expressed his love of No More Heroes - the only game i had to turn it back on for as the pre-boss fight phone calls only come though the speaker. Oops! edit - I found Thor's response, its at the very bottom of the comments...
I remember buying this when i first got a wii looooong ago. I played it for 3 minutes then returned it next day. Since then i developed a fondness for a certain type of "bad" game and every once n awhile i would think about the game Escape from bug island. I would always scan game stores looking for a copy whenever i found myself in one. Then a few days ago i found a copy in my local vintage game store. I nearly overlooked it and wasnt until i did a 4th scan of the games that i saw it and it was dirt cheap. Its everything i hopes it would be, a game with some solid ideas but fails to execute them well. Hilarious incomprehensible dialogue, weird animations, i esp love the intro when he keeps looking down the sights if that gun on a repeating animation and at one point his head is turned a completely different way and he still holds the gun up pointing in opposite direction lol. Im having a blast with this game. Its def a so bad its good situation
I know this video is really old, but you can turn the wii mote volume off by hitting the home button, but I find it really funny that you just gutted a wii mote to achieve the same effect.
This is one of those games I’ve always heard of but never seen any gameplay I was expecting something more arcadey rather than anything with much depth

I have, but some games don't seem to care. Turning it off in the Wii's main menu technically only disables it's own systems sounds. So unless a game has separate options to deal with the speaker, then you're pretty much stuck with it. Or, that's what I figured based on my own findings at least. I have a second wiimote that still has it's speaker though. So if there's ever a game where it's required, then I can always just use that one.
I only know of this game because of the "Shitstorm" LP series and frankly that was enough for me, lol. Sadly there doesn't seem to be anything here that makes me want in. Lacks the cringe level or niche level for me to care enough. It's just... There? If that makes any sense.
Yeah that's where I first heard about it too. I can see what you mean about being just there as well. It certainly has a "bottom of the barrel" vibe about it compared to other weird horror games, but I was pleasantly surprised by how fun to play it actually was.
