No joke a month ago I saw a study that used a CT scanner and AI to generate an approximation of a video the person was watching by reading their brainwaves. The future goal of it is to help people who can't normally communicate (ie in a coma), but one of the points in the conclusion is that the technology could also hypothetically be used to create a copy of what we think we're seeing in our dreams.

Celebrities can make that stuff go away, but if even they have trouble with ridding themselves of the problem completely, how much more will the common person have to do? What you’re seeing now is the worst AI will ever be. It can only get better from here.

That's the point, images aren't people, they are only images. That's always been the perceptual problem. It's the viewer who makes the leap to assuming that these images reflect anything in external reality. And that leap can be inaccurate. The technology isn't the point. Just like how the "people", "buildings", and other "objects" in a comic book are only lines on paper. It's only a problem when the viewer isn't aware of this fact. It's not a fake person, it's a real drawing. We only assume that ANY images are representative at our own peril.
That opening scene with the man with the double mouth with sauce for lips is scarier than any horror movie i've seen...and i've seen many...It's just so disturbing and uncanny!!

the AI is obviously highly untrained for comedic relief. These AI generations are getting better everyday and will be undistinguishable from human created. Imagine entire movies written with AI. Its got a ways to go, but it is getting there.
