Who is your favorite character in this movie?? For me it has to be Octavious and Jedidiah!!
The Easter Island Head, he was so funny!
@@cayanne3420me to!
Akmenrah, because of Twilight,
Gotta be Larry and Attila the Hun, and the cavemen, off the top of my head
teddy roosevelt🥺
Fun fact! The woman at the hiring office, Debbie, is Ben Stiller's mom in real life.
RIP Ms. Anne Meara Stiller✔️
I was just scrolling down to post this! 😅 It makes their little exchange so much funnier when you know!
“I didn’t feel a connection.” 😂🤣👍🏻
That's sweet
@@amyg4961 Ben still has the comedic side from his mom.
RIP, Robin Williams.
Night At The Museum 3 was the last film he made before he died, and it was dedicated in his memory.
It was Mickey Rooney’s last film too.
and mickey Rooney he also passed away around the time of night at the museum 3 and was also Dedicated to him
@@marlonclark1896 Yeah
Well, *technically,* Williams's last movie was _Absolutely Anything_ , a 2015 sci-fi comedy starring Simon Pegg, where Williams voices a talking dog in one scene. But yes, _Night at the Museum 3_ was the last movie where Williams has a starring role.
It's kind of horrifying to think that the Pharaoh has been coming to life trapped inside that small box night after night for how long
Don't forget his wraps...
@@leonardolonghi3472mummies
That’s claustrophobia incarnate
I believe it's not that long because he been to Cambridge
@@simontide6780 And how long before that had he been stored with his tablet?
This film was actually one of Rami Malek’s first featured films in his career back in 2006. The monkey is actual money animal actor called Crystal the Monkey. That song that plays during the end credits was sung by a young Keke Palmer
I remember some on the internet were trashing him because he wasn't black enough for a pharaoh
He is literally Egyptian xD
Crystal The Monkey was also in Hangover 2.
@@Hanmacx Actually, Rami is of Egyptian Heritage His parents are from Egypt
@@MrTech226 that was the joke
Wasn't Crystal also in one of the _Hangover_ movies? I swear.
I have actually known 2 guys who were night watchmen at big museums. They regularly got a powerful feeling that the exhibits seemed to look alive in the half light, overnight. One guy started believing in spirits and wandering souls and apparitions... there were lots of unexplained bumps and bangs in the darkness, things falling off of shelves. I pressed the one guy for more stories and he got this anxious look and refused to talk about save to say... "There are such things as ghosts." Anyway, you must get pretty overwhelmed in the atmosphere and possibly start seeing and hearing things... This must be a pretty common experience among night security people at these institutions and maybe inspired this script.
And at Hospitals.
I do believe in spirits who visit places like cemeteries, homes, hospitals, and maybe museums. Just places where a significant thing happened to them or that is just relevant to them.
If there is such a thing as ghosts, the most likely places to find them would be graveyards, hospitals and museums
Hospitals, museums, they are always in abundance of ghost stories, especially if the place is old. In my culture, it is said that spirits love to dwell in things that represent or resemble a human, like paintings, figurines, or statues. If you feel the eyes on a portrait following you, that might be it 😂
The weight of history is a powerful thing.
I love that they had someone of actual Egyptian heritage to play the Pharaoh 😊
Am I the only one who kind of sympathizes with McPhee, Ricky Gervais' character? Ya can't just let people climb onto exhibits and touching the displays, doesn't matter how old they are.
As an adult i do, and while he's a stereotype no fun British authority figure... he begrudgingly gives Daley props and respect at the end, even if he doesn't verbally admit it. So he's not a 'bad' guy, just realistic in how he reacts to the situation... even as a kid im the kind of person who gave frowning looks at people who where to loud or boisterous in museums when i was ever in one, so I get where he's coming from.
"Control your young!" Yo, as someone who worked in a mall, I feel that so fucking hard...
As someone who just dont really like kids in general, i felt that so fucking hard 😂
@@eva1585wahhhh
It's been ages since I've seen this and I totally forgot that Paul Rudd played Nick's stepdad. Also I kind of forgot that Ahkmenrah had been sealed in his tomb for 50+ years and I never really considered why. I wonder though if it's because Cecil knew he could potential threaten their plan since he's an actual person (albeit a mummified one during the day) instead of just a statue, model, miniature, or waxwork imitation of a real life figure.
I don't think so, the old night guards just didn't really care about the museum inhabitants? They were there to do a job (and feel young). Lock up the lions, close the miniature displays, keep the mummy in its tomb. Status quo.
Even day 2 Larry was trying to get to know and help the residents.
The exterior shots were done on location in New York City. The interiors of the museum were all connected sets. Director Shawn Levy called it the most elaborate set he had ever been on.
Also, Hayley I see you and your Learn or Perish water bottle. I love spotting other Puppet History/Watcher fans in the wild 💙
I wouldn't be surprised if Robin Williams adlibbed that line "I'm made of wax, Larry. What are you made of?" because it's just so damn clever, like his Mrs. Doubtfire line "He (God) broke the mould when He made me, dear."
This is such a comedic gem of a film. It’s so goofy, but the humor really just works. So excited you guys are gonna do the whole trilogy!
'Daddy Issues' films were not just year 2000+, and a lot of the stepdads were portrayed as nice guys.
-Robin Williams's "Mrs Doubtfire" (1993); stepdad played by Pierce Brosnan
-Jim Carrey's "Liar Liar" (1997); stepdad-to-be played by Cary Elwes
-Tim Allen's "The Santa Clause" (1994); stepdad played by Judge Reinhold
-Ben Stiller's "Night at the Museum" (2006); stepdad played by Paul Rudd
Yeah I've definitely noticed this pattern but I'm happy they put on a good message for new dads. But there were also movies who portrayed the original dad as better than the step dad XD
And then Paul Rudd switched the sides to the dad in Antman (2015)
I've been to the Science Museum in London and I've seen the dinosaurs and things along with these incredible videos showing how different the world moves, sounds, and feels when you're a creature that moves really quickly or is really tiny in size, etc. It was incredible.
Love this movie. I got in an argument with my sister about the fact that Rebecca's thesis would have been totally discredited/rejected because she wouldn't be able to cite her sources. And was promptly reminded, Hey Sarah, it's a movie about museum exhibits coming to life. Hahaha
i remember when my elementary school teacher showed the class this video, we loved it so much. it's been so long since i've seen this movie
YES!!! Thank you guys so much for reacting!! I remember asking for you guys to react to this one so long ago, and it’s great to see you do it now!!!
I'm about halfway through my degree in Museum Studies. I would definitely say this movie contributed. When I was a kid, my mother would drag me to all sorts of museums. These days, she brings her knitting so she can sit and wait for me to finish going through every exhibit. XD
Stella always has such great perspectives! You gotta love her!
When I was a kid, we had live action shows on Saturday mornings that starred TV stars we knew from primetime that mixed adventure and comedy. These movies remind me of those shows
Finally someone is reacting to this movie 😭😭😭 I love this trilogy it’s so fun and enjoyable! I hope you do all three 🥺 I think #3 may be tied with #1 for favorites
I love how the guy who played Atilla the Hun went on to play Kublai Khan in Ghost of Tsushima.
Say what you want but I find the museum director very realistic. Never thought he was a villain
James and Nobu,
piggy backing on Stellas idea...YOU two should definitely cosplay as Jedediah and Octavious! 😊👍
Yes!!!!!
Thank you guys for reacting to one of the most underrated family films ever! Can't wait for you guys to react to the sequels! God Bless you all!
The fact that Charlie Murphy, Eddie Murphy’s comedian brother, was the taxt driver and i never realized until watching this as an adult hurts, even as a child he was one of my favorite characters even if he was just a side character because of his humor🥹😂🤦🏽♀️
Mickey Rooney, when he was younger, was one of Hollywood's biggest stars. You might want to check out his classic roles like the Andy Hardy series or his turn as Puck in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" from 1935.
Yeah I LOVE him!!!
Another great movie starring Ben Stiller is The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. Its a comedy, with some amazing actors, it's a wholesome film.
Not gonna lie when my family and I came to America for a holiday we went to this museum and I went right up to the Easter Island head and said: “Dum Dum give me gum gum!!” Probably looked like the weird Aussie in the museum 😂
Night at the Museum is such an enjoyable trilogy!
I love this movie franchise! So glad you’re watching it now!
Oh yay!! I really enjoyed this movie. Super fun, light hearted and funny! Can't wait!
Loved seeing all four of you together! Such a fun reaction, can’t wait for the other movies, these were some of my favs as a kid
This was one of my favorite movies growing up and I always love watching people’s reactions to it
I never watched this movie because it came out at a time when I was very cynical about the comedy movies and newer comedic actors; but after seeing this reaction, I'm going to have to watch it, because it looks so good. Also because Robin Williams.
Not me in the first few sec sayin in my head along with them "hi I'm James" " and Im NineTail- oh no wait!."
Lol
I absolutely loved these movies as a kid and I still do, theyre like classics to me.
You guys just brought back my childhood ❤
that little soldier on stella's mic xD
Teddy Roosevelt was big game hunter, Calvary man and saved a bear cub and the "TEDDY BEAR" was born!😎
I didn’t watch Aladdin as a kid, so I first knew Robin Williams through Mrs. Doubtfire and Night at the Museum ☺️. The last movie in the trilogy was released a few months after his death and I definitely teared up watching his last appearance 😢
You have to keep in mind that 90% of the things on display in museums are just models oh and or Recreations in the first place they're not going to put actual Priceless artifacts on display for millions of people to sneeze on
Owen Wilson and Robin Williams are hilarious in these movies
Whoa, what a blast from the past!! I remember watching this in the TV with a Polish dub when I was younger. What a good memory
The old lady who interviews Larry is actually Ben Stillers real mother.
First I’ll say that I’ve been watching James and Nobu for a year now and I’ve loved your guys reaction videos, but adding Hayley and Stella to the group has only increased my love for this channel. I willl also say that the actual museum looks nothing like this. I was so excited to go as a kid after this movie and it is totally different
the lady who talks with him about his resume is Ben Stiller's mom in real life. Fun fact!
I had to stim out the overwhelming joy for half of this hahaha. Watching this felt like sharing my favorite movie with friends!!
The actress playing the job counsellor is Anne Meara, Ben Stiller's mother.
I was scrolling down to see if anyone else had pointed this out!! What a talented set of parents Ben has!!
This is such an amazing film series filled with an amazing story, stunning visual effects, and a talented cast. I actually was in a musical called Night At The Wax Museum which had a similar plot of the figures being brought to life via Cleopatra’s bracelet. I was Pancho Villa, one of the outlaw figures that came life. I had a song that I got to sing and had to do it in Spanish which was really fun and one of the best memories of my life.

4:47 Puppet History water bottle! Hell yeah, I knew y'all had good taste in media! xD
Thanks so much for covering this film. I've forgotten JUST how good this is and reliving it with you guys brought a smile to my face. It really is even better than I remember.
The museum in the film, is a real museum, but everything you see on the inside is a set. You can briefly see the interior of the actual museum when Dick Van Dyke opens the door to the Sea Life Exhibit and the dolphin uses its blowhole on him.
little do they know Cecil Fredericks is the SAME guy who was the chimney guy in Mary Poppins.
The little guys are not okay Stella I had two tree monkeys one of them was a huge pain lol!!
My cousin and I went to the Smithsonian all the time anytime we were at my grandparents. The rocks/minerals and the history were my favorite buildings.
I feel bad for Ahkmenrah though! He's been stuck in there for 50+ years!
Not to mention the fact that he's the only exhibit that is a real human that now comes back to life!
I would like to suggest the movie Underworld (2003), it has a well developed story about vampires and werewolves. I'm sure you'll like it a lot^^
I assume you noticed that the caveman who died was played by Ben Stiller?
yo I forgot Hansel and Zoolander were in this
2:44 NGL, this is just like me and that comic I've been working on (or Brian Griffin with his crappy novel) - everyone keeps asking me how it's going, and every time I'm like, "Yeah, I'm working on it! :DDD"
These movies were my favorites as a kid and I used to watch all these movies on repeat for a looonnngg time when I was little!! I'm glad you guys like these movies as well, and I LOVE your group reaction to this movie too!!!
Can’t wait to see you guys react to the second one as well 😁 I love this movie and thoroughly enjoyed your reaction to it ☺️
The woman interviewing him for a job is his real life mother.
Love these group reactions you guys have been doing.
Monday! Monday! Monday! Monster Truck Rally!! 😂
this group reactions are so fun
6:58 LOL, you can tell this movie was written by boomers, because I *loved* going to the museum as a kid in the 2000s, and so does my younger cousin who was born in 2012.
I really love this movie, my favorite character is skeleton t rex.
I want to believe that Dick Van Dykes scarf was a Mary Poppins reference.
Jed and Octavius truly best characters.
I've seen some pictures of people doing Jedtavius couple costumes.
When the one old nightguard made a copy of the key that's when I remembered that they are the bad guys lmao
I haven’t watched this movie since it came out. I forgot how fun it was. Definitely need to go give it a rewatch. And catch the sequels before I watch your reactions.
Octavious and Jedidiah is an epic love story every time!
Would have been worse if the lions were built around The Ghost and the Darkness, but I believe they are in The Chicago Field Museum...
i really apprecite how you dont lie in the title and say its your first time watching lol
The three night guards caught me by surprise when I first saw the movie because they're 3 of my favorite classic movie actors so to see them in a modern feature film was just the best!!
The lady at the employment agency is Ben Stiller's mother, Anne Meara.
i really have to say that besided the movie i love see you guys all together!! you are really enjoyable to watch
4:42 - That's Ben Stiller's Mom in real life.
I love your guys' reaction! ❤
Thanks man!!
To this day my family and I will call each other into the other room by saying “Hey dum dum!!!” 😂
the ONLY IRL exhibit featured in this movie is the one with the giant blue whale and its also one of the most iconic exhibits in the museum.
There's actually 4 now but the last one's animated...
6:47 NGL, I could totally imagine David Tomlinson playing this character if this movie were made in the 60s or 70s.
The lady in the employment office that he felt a connection with, is his REAL mother! Kind of an inside joke for older people that know who she is!
the woman at the employment agency was Ben Stillar's mom
The " Clapper lady" is ben stillers mother😊
Ah, that explains the connection he talked about
ALL THREE FILMS ARE GREAT!!!
I CAN ENVISION ANOTHER TYPE OF CREATIVE MUSEUM MOVIE as a filmmaker myself, but instead of the typical elements from here, this would be a more hybrid one set in an ART MUSEUM FEATURING 3D, 2D, AND STOP MOTION CHARACTERS COMING TO LIFE
So much fun thanks a lot!
They go to Smithsonian, then London museum in sequels!😃😃😃
Love this movie! I love each character so much!
The lady at the employment office is his real mother.
I went to that museum once, the T-rex wasn’t there but it was still amazing and also huge.
(At 19:05) Yeah that jade thing is a… fuu dog.

Last summer I went to the history museum in New York and took a picture with the Easter island head with my gum for the gum gum reference
This is one of my favorite movies as a kid. Glad to see you react to this.
None of this was filmed in the museum in NYC
