“Did you just make the decision to possibly end your life earlier than you were expecting?” Is simultaneously the dumbest and coolest line of the film.
The Punisher as Al Capone, Amy Adam’s as Amelia Earhart, Robin Williams as Teddy Roosevelt, Bill Hader as General Custer, Rami Malek as a pharaoh and Owen Wilson as a cowboy. This movie is treasure.
I'm British and my friend is American who is this film's interpretation incarnated and I sometimes tease him with that quote in an appalling American accent. In retaliation he quotes Octavius in a horrific British accent. His favourite is "I can see you're genuinely slightly bothered."
I can't believe Hank Azaria played 3 people in this movie, I love how he did it. He played Kuhmunrah, he was the voice of the Abraham Lincoln statue and he was also the voice of The Thinker :) :D
The ‘no touching zone’ scene is one of the funniest scenes I’ve ever seen. Every time I see it I think ‘How the fuck was this movie made’ and simultaneously am so glad that it was
I was just confused why Oscar the grouch and Darth Vader shared a scene. And why Napoleon screeched so often. Or why a tiny Roman rode into battle on a tamed squirrel and then summoned the Lincoln memorial to punt a bunch of half bird half men into the underworld. I seriously can't remember why it was my least favourite when I was small. Maybe because I didn't like the references.
I wanted at first to hear this line and come back with a "well actually" but lets be honest. 99.99% of everything the US does is a strange yet somehow most often workable combination of "hold my beer" and "okay just hear me out".
The funny thing about that to me is that Orville Wright lived until 1948, so he got to witness probably the fastest period of advancement for aviation. He’d definitely be showing Wilbur everything though
@@romainsteffen5315 oh is he actually French? I mean I know Napoleon wasn't actually French but you know at least they found time to hire a French actor, it's the thought that counts

Yes general Custer did lose at little big horn but I do not ever recall him being considerd a bad general, a racist yes, but I'm pretty sure he was actually quite successful during the Civil war. I believe what did him in at little big horn was mostly his armorment him and his troops had single shot rifles while the natives had leveractions
Jebediah and Octavia are in love 3:42 and there is no heterosexual explanation for their relationship, they are roommates, historical roommates if you will, that are just friends.
I love that the first one is a comedy with a nice little story arc to make it a memorable, heartfelt film, while the second just goes all-in on the silly premise to make a terrific comedy. Makes them both stand out as unique and memorable. The third is just sad, and tarnished by every appearance of a very clearly sickly Robin Williams struggling to remember his lines and being a tragic shadow of the man we all knew and loved. It's not a great film to begin with, but it's completely darkened by the sadness of Robin Williams' passing.
I feel like they depicted Amelia perfectly in this movie but also slacked in some scenes. Like how much she mentioned her love for Larry. Yes she had a husband in real life, but she was also the type of woman who didn’t NEED a man in her life to be happy. She was extremely independent and that is one of the things I love about her.
I loved the second movie as a kid. Now that I'm grown and have a (somewhat) full brain I realized just how totally unneeded the Amelia romance bit was. That kiss belonged to Jed and Octavius I also love that you can CLEARLY see Jed's sword bend in the stabby shoes scene
I just love movies with historical characters. Literally so cool to see these people we’ve learned about come to life. Also these movies are just fire 🔥
It's fun coming back to these movies as an adult historian, because now that I know who George Custer REALLY is I hate him so much more (Thank you for posting this!)
God I love Napoleon in this movie. Like seriously Eff the other villains. (Accept Kamunra) I absolutely love him. Also because of all his “I’m not short you’re short.” Jokes. I’m 5’3 and that man would be extremely happy to know he’s about 3 inches taller than me.
Back when i was atching this for the first time as someone who loves history, Custer's introduction hit different because it was like "yooo crazy man with a mustache helping Larry who is this guy- OH GOD ITS THE DUDE WHO LET EVERYBODY DIE WHILE HE HID LIKE A COWARD" like as soon as he said his name i knew 😂 (also fuck yeah bill hader)
When I first saw this movie, I knew a lot of the cast like Amy Adams, Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson and Robin Williams but had no idea who Bill Hader was. He's seriously so entertaining!
I love history since I was a kid from watching my dad play CIV III and IV as well watching war films like The 300 Spartans (1962) with him. Why
Bill Hader’s character was the embodiment of “He’s confused but he’s got the spirit.”
"Oh, so you're threatening me! You threatening me, Brandon?"
"It's Brun•don."
Ooh!
You know who else was in this film? Jonah Hill
I was thinking who else was in Night at the Mueseum, now I remember!
Did anyone else look up Most Popular Baby Names in 1984 and not find Brun•don? Cause I sure didn’t. Lol
