EVERY SINGLE UNIT had EXP Abuse via Boss, dodge, and Enemy Healer Abuse, including the Greil Mercenaries...
(Dodge Abuse... my name for it, is have a prepromoted unit, like Tauroneo who's not able to be touched in the early chapters... constantly dodge, so not to break the enemy's weapon, for 1EXP per turn... yeah... it's a pain)
So you could say THIS WAS BEYOND HARD MODE... The Laguz don't stand a chance... basically it was a duel between the Mercs and the Dawn Brigade... lol "DBZ, Fire Emblem Style" XD
Here... if you want to attempt it yourself, here's my save file:

(Backup your own via SD card to your computer, then put the data.bin in the F:\private\wii\title\RFEE folder, with "F:\" being the drive letter of your SD card... then replace the save in your Wii by erasing the data in the Wii and transfering the save from the SD card)
I like how when Ike is defeated by the Dawn Brigade, his reaction is basically
" Oh, okay".
As if he didn't actually lose.

i really liked how this game was. You played as both enemy sides. Then with parts like this, you get to see all your favorite characters fight each other in a battle for their lives.
This game was and still is my favorite Fire Emblem game.
It did what Fates was trying to do.

This is an incredible achievement. I thought the Greil Mercenaries so greatly outclassed the Dawn Brigade that this would be impossible.
All of his units are somehow tier 3 so that helped a great deal. My Dawn Brigade units are never tier 3 when I reach this chapter.
Clayton Hilliard I’m betting that he transferred data over from Path of Radiance, which can help big time.
JWil42 It’s actually pretty easy. You just farm EXP mainly in Part 1, I believe it’s chapter 7 with the armored boss on the healing tile. Give everyone a bunch of bronze weapons and farm away.

It's Ike's way of saying "fuck you, I always win."
It was moe of the game saying Ike and the units weren't really being defeated but pushed back unitl the opprotunity arrived.

Yeah, if you beat Ike, the Gallians should have routed in panic as Daein repelled their assault: no change in story needed, just the context of Kurthnaga's intervention.
The same thing happens in the mission Galiea in PoR. You can kill all the enemies, and the cut scenes still have you losing.
I'm sorry, but did Meg just do something useful? That's the craziest part of this video
+Stephen QS well, technically meg isnt to bad... if she's trained correctly and the RNG gods love you. her high growth in speed prevents her from being doubled mostly, and her resistance makes her a decent mage buster. fill in her lacking stats by giving her bonus exp level ups and then monster created. though i'm pretty sure that this tactic works with pretty much every character, making meg uh... not special lol

That is why the Tellius Legends are phenomenal.
I love how everyone else is like: "I am gravely wounded, guess I'll die here." and Ike is like: "No you're to valuable to die, get out of here." and Mist is like: "Well this sucks, I'm just gonna leave. Toodles."
The sad part was..
I adore Wayu (Mia) with a passion. She's my all time favorite Fire Emblem character, so I made sure she was maxed on everything. Level, Stats.. and really early too.. So she was worst than the final boss, fighting her here LOL.
She never got hit once, and would 1shot crit, or ASTRA all my Units.
..I was so happy and scared I created a monster..

Luck helps too because that is your what your main avoid comes from. Speed gives dodge, Luck gives avoid. Not sure what the calcs for it are.
Ruby Rose you got that mixed up avoid which comes from speed that minus hit luck gives dodge which negates crit but anyway i dont really use mia i use zihark altho i do like mia's look more but anyway even tho luck does give a little avoid i dont find it very useful so id say speed, skill, and strength. that isnt a fact thats just a personal preference
Darth_Diminish The Wolf Well most people don't have low luck, most units will end up with either a decent or high luck stat with the occasional one unit that has 4-10 luck lmao.

Its insane to me that you got so many of the dawn brigade to Tier 3. I don't think I've ever leveled more than one of them besides Micaiah to Tier 3.

Shinon is no oifey. He has the problem of being a pre-promote with stats that are equal to an unpromoted unit.
@@golfer435 Shinon is still a pretty good unit, especially compared to Rolf, who takes way too much investment to just become an alright unit. Shinon’s early utility before he leaves is a lot better than anything most Rolfs will ever do. Shinon’s bases might be equal to a well-trained unpromoted unit, but Rolf’s bases are about as good as a walking trash can

When you baby both Meg or Fiona, they can actually be pretty good. But most people don't like them to begin with to even think about babying them.

Your opponents were the units YOU raised that also had Mastery Skills that could kill you in one shot. Mia was an especially big concern.
Lol 1:45 even with astra and a crit Edward couldn’t kill Ike. Ike is by far my favorite character in fire emblem.
I mean from what I remember the reason I DIDN'T kill Ike is because that would end the chapter immediately, killing the entire point of the entire video.

I believe he did a technique that abuses enemy healers. What you basically do is weaken healers, but dont kill them. They can almost never harm you and they will regenerate hp at the end of the turn

"Why would you seek me out?" LOL I love that line from Ike! It's been nearly a decade since I killed Ike with Saint Laura (no cheating, just grinding with healing staves against Laguz) Ripped him apart with Laura! XD
I don't know why, but this video is so interesting to watch. I personally watched it 5 times now and it is still cool how you play this challange.
The game is played in Parts, with different perspectives of each team. At one point and the end of part 3, you end up playing as each side during the war. This was the chapter where you are to defend for 12 turns with Micaiah's Army (Daein). In the next chapter you get to fight as Ike's team.
I hella respect you doing away this episode with like, no problems at all. I could probably never take that much time out to grind my units even with abuse to that strong. This is also one of the hardest maps asides from Ellincia's Gambit.

Copying a suspended save file to an sd card, that's a great idea. Would be really awkward to do but if you get that one perfect level up it'd totally be worth it.
Waaaaagh! I'm envious...! I'm playing my third playthrough of the game with the aim to get Edward and Leonardo to Endgame, but they were only level 15-17 second tier in this map. Kudos to you and your amazing Edward.
This is extremely late but I finally used the sleep staff on Ike and killed him with every one’s favorite character Edward and yes I got it on a wrath crit and brave sword on hard mode without save states on actual control
No. His sword was Alondite, its sister sword. The Black Knight did carry Ragnell for a brief period of time as he intended for Greil to use it in their duel. He offers it to Greil (but Greil can't hold a sword anymore if you remember, he cut his tendons because of what he did), but Greil takes up his axe Urvan instead.

ok, the black knight reveal could have been more exciting, but all the other revelations blew my mind. like sephiran being lehran, soren being the son of ashnard and so on.
Geez you're good! I can't even do this on normal mode let alone hard. You even got Fiona to third tier. With all those close calls (Zihark in particular) you must've been on edge like crazy. Throughout the video I kept thinking "why won't they battle save?". I had to keep reminding myself that this was hard mode lol. Plus, dodge abuse? I never thought of trying that before. Sounds real tedious. Sorry for the rambling but this was just really impressive. You did a great job!

I don't know what this exp abuse is all about, but normally, the dawn brigade wouldn't be able to even scratch the greil mercenaries. (they would get completely annihilated)
Ok I went back and tried that and you are right about Meg becoming a beast, but that still leaves Fiona who still sucks.

In Radiant Dawn, you play for both sides shown in the video, but the story pins them against each other for this part.
Yeah, I'll put it this way, the rest of the dawn brigade excluding Nolan, Sucked, and leonardo was dead so..yeah. most of the experience went to Edward, and he was a High level Swordmaster at the end of Part 1, A Trueblade before this chapter in part 3.
That's called wasting BEXP and effort.
You use both the dawn brigade members and the Griel mercenaries. On this chapter, you get to either defend the line for 12 turns, or defeat Ike to complete the chapter.
Oh dear. This IS on Hard mode. Should've figured that one out from lack of Battle saves, but only realised it when I saw the save was red-colored... very impressive indeed! And curse the lack of enemy range indicator >=(

You do realize he says that he boss/priest abused them all to 3rd Tier, correct? He said it in like the first 15 seconds of the video.
On my playthrough, Edward was super pimped. I ran up and double astra'd him to death in one round, if I remember.
sure his dawn brigade is overleveled, but so is the greil mercs, so it kinda evens things out.
@VGMaster17 Oh, and you can just do the thing where you battle save right before Fiona levels up. If she gets a crappy stat raise, then reset until she gets good growths.
HHhhmm, when I played this level, I had two battleworthy units (Zihark and Nolan), on hard mode, I must have restarted 40 times, at least. Pretty much I blocked the two entry points without ledges and placed useless units on the other ledges in order to hold my ballistae positions to take out the fliers, it took me the first 20 tries to develope that strategy. Would you say that this is the most valid strategy, cause when i play through again, I'd like to not waste so much time. And judging by your apparent extreme experience on such matters, how would you deal with the mercenaries with my limited resources?
For one, you can probably hack the memory to do it as well.
Second, unless you can't read, I did it via boss abuse.

I could barely do this on Normal Mode, and I had to feed the entire Begnion army to Edward in the ambush chapter to do so. I thought doing it on HM was impossible...
I just unleashed the meg masheen with Beastfoe and called it a day.

Train the Dawn Brigade? I just B EXP them to their tier 3 classes in one go from the very moment I got to play with them again (most of them were already promoted to tier 2 by the end of part 1) so they were pretty much over leveled in that chapter... with the exception of Sothe and Micahia whose promotions were still locked at the time.
Honestly Edward is the only saving grace of the DB now that I look back at RD
I think if Mia had an A support with Oscar and the Daunt skill you would been in big trouble. Fiona with "17 str WTF", and I thought that my Lv 10 sentinel Nephenee with 21 str was bad.

Boss abusing or not, I must say that you're a great strategist, Rey.
So I don't even know why some people are complaining, since you won this battle with only your efforts (and a little bit of luck in some cases).
Now...I don't know if anyone has asked this or not yet, but if you kill the greil mercenaries in this level,( I know that when a character dies they are gone for good) but during this level, if you kill Ike or anyone of the Greil Mercenaries, are they truely gone for good? I find it hard to believe that the game would allow that considering the final level and all.
Not with FE11, but definitely with FE12.
So yes, their experience doesn't always produce a great product, but they tend to learn from their mistakes.
I just beated this chapter again today and gained a new personal record! Lvl 20 Ike defeated in turn 5!!!!! Woohooo!!! Looks like all that grinding and planning finally payed off! So giddy ☺
And then you have enemies that pretty much raise a middle finger to you with skills that only they can use.

Also, that you defeated all the Greil Mercenaries, and they still pull the, "We break through and win anyway" ending is even more appalling. Honestly, they should have thought of something better than that, maybe even a bonus scene for taking them all down.

@CanadianBaconEater09 It was just really stretched from the Dazzle. So yeah, it's not really 1080p. The most I can record in is 480p from the Wii using the Hauppauge HD PVR. 1080i is the most I can get when recording on the PS3, but usually it's 720p.
