I always believed that the multiple figures come from multiple Skylands universes (as we know that there is kind of a multiverse in Skylanders lore, i.e. the minis come from one, and the way we replay levels in the games can also sometimes support that), but that doesn't explain the cutscene at all. This video inspired me to think that the Skylanders came to Earth in some kind of shards from which the figures were made, and they have like joint conciousness, so they know that the Skylands was rescued even though some of the figures hasn't been sold yet, but... That theory still needs a lot of work. Anyway, in both cases TfB and Activision are evil companies capitalising the fact that the Skylanders (or their shards), who were in great need fell somewhere near their grounds and they just made profit out of a dramatic situation. And I love that part of my headcannon.
I like to think that the skylanders got split up because it would give an in universe explanation as to why they can't use all there moves and can only choose between certain paths
My head cannon is that every game is an alternate skylands that's just loosely connected with cannon that seems to change. Each figure is also a different version of that skylander. That to me would explain how a SSA gillgrunt can exist with an Elite gillgrunt in Imaginators specificly the rafting level.
My theory is that they were sent there to keep an eye on Kaos if he ever started moving again, same way the SuperChargers and Senseis were sent to Earth. They obviously dropped the ball when it came to following through, but it all turned out fine in the end
This is my personal thought when a Skylander is send to earth it's from various points in time itself my Spyro is from a few seconds after he shrunk, while yours is from a few seconds after he landed that's also how the alternate versions could work
Look, there is another confusing cutscene. In Superchargers when Glumshanks sacrificed himself to save the Academy from the Sky Eater. well, in the next cutscene he was shown alive and well. It makes no sense. He’s supposed to be dead…
I have an explanation. Portal are capeable of time traveling. So this scene plays before ssa and Kaos travels back in time to the beginning of giants. Later after the scene we found the skylanders and brought them back to skylands to the beginning of ssa.
I’d like to bring up that in works of fiction like this it’s fun to speculate what a cannon timeline would be; but the devs intention is probably ‘yeah it doesn’t work with the ssa ending, but we like this idea more so just forget about that first bit’ and true cannon timelines of big franchises are almost never intended by creators
Actually in the cutscene that shows the sky landers being sent to earth they aren’t really being shown petrifying either it could be that the process occurs after landing we do here him getting set upon by I think a dog and not being able to do much about it which is similar to how in some of the early commercials the skylanders get harassed and annoyed by their portalmasters pets if those are in some way canon then that as seen in the Easter commercial they can actually move around to an extent as they hide from their portal masters
Some really good ideas here, but there is one lore inaccuracy. We do know of one other portal master who used a portal on themselves, Master Eon. In some of the guides and manuals for Spyro's Adventure, it's mentioned that when the core of light exploded Master Eon was knocked into his own portal and that's how he became disconnected from his body.
Wasn't there a scroll or something that said portals can be sent through space AND time? So these could just be Spyro and gill grunt before they return to Skylands, as we never see any season 2 figures, so giants night not be out yet
Yeah, the first story scroll EVER "While the shape and size of Portals vary, under the control of a true Portal Master, these mystic devices can connect two points in space, Dimension and, if we are to believe ancient legends, even time. Portal Masters can send Skylanders and magic to the other side."
This is some Kingdom Hearts level crap right here. My head canon is that each Skylander figure is a clone of the original with the originals residing in Skylands. The same thing happened to Kaos when he was sent to earth, and that's how we get to play as him in Imaginators. Furthermore, every play-through of a Skylanders game is an alternate timeline.
@@trapx5909 The question is, where did the wiki get the bio? Cuz the wiki also says the minis came from an alternate dimension, which is clearly proven wrong by the comics.
@Shrock568 Kaos' bio is from Skylanders creator. The mini's bios are from lost islands (i think), and the comics didn't really say anything about the mini's origins.
My explanation is the dialogue when Kaos lands on earth is retconned by giants, and the reason the skylanders are on a display is because they aren’t currently on a portal of power like they were in the cutscene from SSA. The real world is diegetic to skylanders after all
My personal explanation is that the Skylanders have to become toys to have access to the portal masters. Because Eon is dead, and the Skylanders were sent too far from Skylands, we’re the only way for Skylanders to portal wherever they need to go. The various portal accidents over the years with different teams of Skylanders resulted in dozens of them being trapped as toys in different parts of the world until SSA. What made SSA different was that a portal was caught in the explosion and sent to earth along with the SSA Skylanders. Allowing them to be sent back to fight Kaos. Once we defeated Kaos, we sold off the Skylanders to a toy company. Mass producing the toys (which is why we see the Skylanders on display in giants) to create literally millions of portal masters to keep Skylands safe. Once Kaos got there, he froze up like everyone else, but was freed once he was in close proximity to a portal for long enough. Allowing him to go back home and start the plot of Giants. And speaking of giants, the giants and likely every other special team of Skylanders were likely found by specific individuals in toy stores around the world, which is why Eon acknowledges you as “finding” these teams in each game. Because in lore, they’re not mass produced like the cores. But idk this is just a dumb headcanon cuz I was obsessed with this series as a kid :/
Okay as we are told and shown the farther the Skylanders (and Kaos) get from the magic of Skylands they shrink and then freeze it is possible this took longer for Kaos as with him being a Portal Master be it a dark one he had more magic than those even of the Magic element thus he was given limited but still some consciousness and mobility then he starts to freeze unaware what this might be with it possibly being his end he chose to pose in an imposing way trying to show the power of a Ruler. Then we cut to the first cutscene of Giants where Kaos’ magic starts to return as there is a portal near by to which he then finally unfreezes and then starts to recollect what happened to him. Why the Skylanders are there would be because of how portals work in how they can transport beings back in time as well as space this most likely being due to Earth’s time being either slower or faster than time in Skylands. My theory is this Kaos was sent to Present Skylands (by Giants standards) while the other Skylanders were sent to their present SSA.
I am suprised that nobody in the real/ not real earth we see in the opening cutscene of giants did not buy kaos in the toy store thinking he was just a cool looking action figure and then realise kaos was alive when the person brought him home😂
So I have a wild theory on how it all works. So when the Skylanders were sent to earth they shrank and froze. But they also could've had their essence split causing multiples to exist across the world. I would say the figures are sentient there's been other commercials where they cohesively talk to one another. Reposes I can't really explain unless maybe in some way it's supposed to be an "evolved" version of the same figures to show the portal masters and characters growth. But we never really got an explanation. Now for Kaos Id assume him being a portal master is why is essence wouldn't have split when coming to earth. Which means the petrified effect would take a bit longer but it also could have put him into a sort of "hibernation". In which once he was taken to the toy story his magic felt he was close to a portal so he was able to reawaken himself. Now back to the Skylanders in some commercials and even in game it made it seem as though we "found" the giants or trap masters or whatever. Which means maybe in a way they aren't toys but were found and thought to be toys so a company built a brand around them to sell them as such.
When it comes to Kaos going from being mobile at the end of SSA to being frozen at the beginning of Giants, I wanna say that he was always frozen when he got to Earth then placed on the Toy Store, and that they might’ve retconned the ending of SSA a little bit. As for the Skylanders being sold on store shelves, I have no idea.
I doubt people will read it. But it is interesting questions. The following is my take on the entire situation. Kaos' doing as a portal master is creating so much chaos that it can't be beaten just one try, and just in their world. So Eon found a way to split what is happening in skylands and the skylanders into almost infinite copies. Eon then sends the copies into our world in hopes of finding enough people to defeat Kaos completely. Eventually, Eon finds a way to communicate with Toys for Bob, and ask them to help spread the games and skylanders (the longer they communicate, the more ways Eon finds to express, in why he talks with the player), and research alongside ToB on portals. Each time that one version of the game is defeated, the closer the sky lands gets to being safe from that danger, once enough versions of the Kaos are defeated, Sky lands is free. After a while of communicating, Eon finds ways to send non-animate objects to help (traps and vehicles), and teaches the skylanders how to talk to the players directly. The original skylander are in sky lands, the figures are the copies.
From talking to people who worked on the games, my words to you and Folia, quit while you're ahead, you'll drive yourselves more insane figuring it out, and i think it's best you don't know the answer 😔
Yeah. This was my first game into the series and I had several dumb assumptions. Wait, am I that weird emo kid? That stupid viking dude (Eon) called me a portal master, and the goth child called himself a portal master, but then I find out the little brat is actually the bad guy, Kaos. Okay then.
I remember making a video on a similar ideas many years ago on an old channel of mine. If I recall right, my theory had something to do with the idea the Skylanders as frozen figures you know, the "toys" stay in this world but there souls go back to Skylands explaining why we see them in the end of SA and Giants. Plus I know it might be silly, but I am serious, do you think the old live action Skylanders ads are related? They talk without moving, so that is why I see them as sentient in Giant's opening.
I think the skylanders went back to earth to live with portalmaster but the skylanders got sold and kaos was froze on the get go that why he said stop it and he went to cryosleep to wait for the skylanders to die
One thought: Kaos escaping his fate as a frozen figurine does also explain how he escaped petrification by the golden queen.
Maybe Kaos being sent to earth 🌍 will be fix in a remake
He’s a portal master
😏
"Are you fu-"

Activision sees some random figures landing and their first thought is "profit"
Kaos forgot to invade earth when he took over Skylands in Supercharges
A more important question is why do the skylanders have bases but Kaos is just standing on his own
I chalk it up to him just being a portal master and "technically a human".
I like to think that the skylanders got split up because it would give an in universe explanation as to why they can't use all there moves and can only choose between certain paths

The reason why is because we took them of the portal and sold them to another company
This is my personal thought
when a Skylander is send to earth
it's from various points in time itself
my Spyro is from a few seconds after he shrunk, while yours is from a few seconds after he landed
that's also how the alternate versions could work
I always thought that it was weird too growing up. Nice to see someone else bring it up

I played Giants before Spyro's Adventure, so I was reeeally confused the first time I saw that cutscene.
I have an explanation.

So they can move just not in ways you think
Kinda like those videos I used to watch back then
