Other tensioner I've replaced have small indexing studs. I don't see any reason to have them this long. Aluminum in aluminum, just asking to get stuck

Thats a nipple! Was it cold that day?
Absolutely no good reason for it to protrude that far out. Small 80F nipple would do the same job without breaking off
