    I can only imagine the budget on this display. It absolutely stunning! I'm glad the fish are kept small. Make the tank feel even larger than it already is. Classic. RIP Amano.

    Had the pleasure of visiting the Oceanarium in 2017. The whole exhibit is amazing, including the biggest bony fish in the world (Moon Fish) and the huge sea mammals in the foyer, recycled from plastic bottles. The brilliant Takashi Amano's underwater forest has to be seen to be believed, a true feast to the senses.

    Fuck man, I'm not a fish fanatic, but when I see a beautiful fucking fish tank with beautiful water land scaping where the plants seems to be happy and healthy! I just can't hold my feels. Even the fishes seems happy af with all that space and natural oxygen from the plants. Beautiful last dream of Takashi. An amazing art.

    The size of this project renders me speechless. Simply stunning. I can't believe how much this thing grew in already. I can't imagine the amount of ferts and co2 dosing a tank of this size needs. Wow just wow. I bet it was the experience of a lifetime. Congrats my friend.

    To those people who are commenting about putting bigger fish into the aquarium....get a clue! This is NOT about fish, it is about the plants and the aquascapes first and foremost. The fish is secondary. Furthermore, adding larger fish will only distract the viewer from the scene. In addition larger fish eat more, poop more which may lead to an imbalance in the aquarium whereas the smaller fish will help keep the tank balanced thus requiring less overall maintenance.

      Aquascaping Today in 2020, Its about Layout in all terms: Hardscape, Plants, Light and also shadows, colores, and of course, Fishes.. Even ways to get easier the Maintenence is contemplated. So, I this case, I cannot be agree about how Fishes are looking in those aquarium. Its look like Mosquitos and break the armony throgh the bad proportions.
      If you use a small fishes in this tank, u need a very very big group swimming together, and also giving a contrast color. You dont need Mosquitos.

      I think there are something like 10,000 individual animals or so in there. That said.........labeling it nature aquarium is a bit misleading if that is the take away some people have. The fish, whatever livestock really, are a significant part of the environment. No doubt the plants are stunning as is the aquarium on the whole. A nature aquarium should be about all aspects of aquatic life given its broad term and implications no? Defining the word Nature ....."the phenomena of the physical world collectively, including plants, animals, the landscape, and other features and products of the earth, as opposed to humans or human creations." Hence this video......th-cam.com/video/fePzIGpIic4/w-d-xo.html I do realize this is an enclosed space so things have to be done with a balance in mind though and I fully understand what you were saying Walter. For some people maybe the word Nature when referring to aquariums gives a different impression than it is intended to? Ironic for fish to be "secondary in a setting where we are advertising something using the word "Nature". Some words should not be used casually and with an implied interpretation. Hopefully that bit of ramble makes some sort of sense. This aquarium does fit that Nature theme as it has all aspects, by definition, so I am mainly replying to the "Nature" concept itself regarding the aquarium hobby where one form of life takes a backseat to another. That doesn't make sense. In nature they all connect with each other and are typically dependent in one way or another.

    I wonder how long after planting did it look like this? Because newest vids are still about 2 year old and the plants had grown tremendously by 2017. One vid on TH-cam showed the opening banner across the front of the aquarium and called it a "temporary" exhibit. This masterpiece changed that to permanent.

    • @FAAOAquascaping
      @FAAOAquascaping  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It looks almost the same, of course some plants are higher or lower depending if they were trimmed or not. The staff does daily maintenance to the tank, so trimmings are done to minimize the difference, but sometimes they need to do a major one in some parts.

    • @FAAOAquascaping
      @FAAOAquascaping  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you search in TH-cam about Florestas Submersas I'm pretty sure you will find lot of videos and more updated.

      @@FAAOAquascaping No,I dont think there are any 2018 vids. Filipe. I used their search and filters and even just dailey looking at youtube has never uncovered a new one from this year.
      As a plants man,you must like me be awed by the size of those plants. H.pinnatifida that are 4' or 5' tall. The Bolbitis are like land ferns you see at a nurserys in 5 gallon pots. The Rotala glandulosa like a true garden hedge. It will always be wonder what Amano might still be doing with that tank..additions.
