I've owned my I-pace for a couple months now. I NEVER thought I'd love this car as much as I do, it handles and drives better then I ever imagined; so much fun to drive and a truly amazing vehicle. The only reason it's not an authentic English car is on account of it not leaking oil.....but they're working on that! Can't say enough great things about this car, buy one, drive it for a week and you'll never want to go back to internal combustion
Can see Jonny as the wildcard. Put a few Fully Charged badges on it. Along with any other sponsors. I'd watch it. Assume in future other EVs will join in, could see the Mustang Mach-E or Model S modded for touring car racing.
I like how Sergio Jimenez talks about the sounds they are used to having a race car, then going to the e race cars. I can understand that part of automotive and motorcycle races for me is the sounds of the engines and the going through the gears. Electric cars are cool but not a cool as V8 going through a tunnel or under a bridge. And its nice to have a video when the host-presenter knows his stuff and lets the guests talk. Thank You Jonny.
I don't normally like racing gimmacks, but the Attack Mode idea really works. The races need to be more accesible, I follow Form E, but got very little info about this last year.
This was a fun video. I mean, not as much fun as Jonny must have had driving the iPace... but about as close to one of these things as I'm likely to get.
I really think that Jonny should be allowed to have a go in an actual race, so he can see where he stands, compared to the other pro. drivers in the race. When everyone has an identical car, all hangs on the driver, and you can really see who's got it or not.

5:05 No, the local residents will still be disrupted because of the logistics of closing streets, resurfacing, taxpayer money being spent on it, etc. I think hypothetically speaking, were the cars combustion-engined, noise would be the least of their worries, nor the pollution from the race. The true disruption comes from having roads closed near where you live and/or commute. EV races still cause these disruptions.

Random "attack mode" duration and frequency for each race and keep it a secret from the teams throughout the race, so they might take a gamble that there will or won't be another mode available and for how long. Sort of like adding a poker game into it.
I would love the E-Trophy series if it was not only jags but all saorts of different electric touringcars. Imagine what cool cars would come of this season, since SUV's aren't the sportiest.
I am a huge fan of FC and all of the content as it comes. But, motorsport is a heart and mind experience, it's raw and should fill you with awe at the skill, the power, the sounds. I cannot therefore see a time where EV racing gives me the same spine-tingling emotional ride. It's an interesting direction but it isn't motorsport.
They should really do an open electric touring car series, where all brands compete against each other. An iPace driving against an iPace is as interesting as the W-Series.
Personally I'd like to see a car like this with the regular battery and add a capacitive battery for silly bursts of acceleration, have seperate regen on it (will also take some strain off the brakes) so it doesn't affect the standard build but bolts on.

Most racing drivers when trying EV's think the car is about to break down in pieces because they hear noises they never heard before like suspension noise, brake noise etc
I live 15 minutes from the factory in the UK and I've never seen one........its obviously a trash road car. Alot got recalled an there is STILL no where to charge them. I have, however seen 2 model 3's in my town....i know which one I want 😂

If it was trash the Jag would not of won dozens of awards from motoring experts including German car of the year , which is unprecedented also European & World car of the year !
Okay so they are made in Austria, I'd still expect to see some driven by Staff if they were any good. As of the data from April 2018 to Sep 2019 they have sold 15,653 iPace in Europe. Total. US is around 2k more. From Jan 2019 to Sep 2019 Tesla sold 63,362 Model 3's in the EU. In the US in 2018 alone they sold 139,782 Model 3's. 2019 looks to be closer to 200k. This is not counting Model S. Or Model X's. So in a shorter time period Tesla sold over 4 times as many cars in Europe and 698 times the amount in the US (in a shorter period) So 18,000 iPace sold Globally since launch. 220,000 Model 3's sold globally in 1 year. Regardless of where its made, the iPace is still obviously trash 😂

Compliance race car. Hate the Formula E parroting road tires. Hope they'll make a more weight reduced version with fancy inverters and motors. To FE motors, for instance. Not a lot of power combined, but easy to push all race. I like that they started doing it, not the way they went about it. With a bit of effort, a BEV touring car can hang with BTCC and the like. Just not for very long races just yet. But even Rally Cross performance is absolutely doable with race specific equipment. Smaller lighter battery, more tuned chassis, panels replaced for fibreglass.

Is that the brakes I hear when Jonny is driving? That sounds horrific. I think they should dial up the regen to the max. There’s no reason not to. You are either wanting to accelerate, hold speed, or decelerate. No other choice.
