You kept taking off in second gear, that's why the bike kept wanting to die and was jumpy lol. On a smaller CC bike with a clutch that allows you to let it further out before it engages you can do that, but on a 1000 with a super precise clutch that's a no go. R1's, as the previous owner told you, also have a really touchy throttle and clutch when they're on the stock tune, so even in first gear if you don't take time to learn the friction zone, you'll be stalling a lot.
Thank you man great info yeah i was tripping on used too the zx4 lol but i asked the owner when i got home he said same thing everyone is saying so im happy everything is good on the bright side ill slowly get on it more🙏🏼
Just FYI. You prolly don't care. But your "First Ever 2021 Yamaha R1 Cold Start" YT short is now my daily reason to get up and go to work. I watch it nearly every day. Thank you so much. Ride safe. And Hope you take care of her... She will take care of you.
Nice upgrade! It looks like you just aren't used to the bike yet. Yamaha gearboxes are different, they just feel different. The bike was shaking though at one point because you were too low in the RPM for your gear, same thing with you almost stalling from a stop. Give it more gas and downshift appropriately it should ride smoother at low speed. No hate lol, I remember thinking my bike was broken.
yea. It was a bit of getting used to when I got my first yamaha. Its a Yamaha thing and it grabs almost at the end and you gotta like rev it up to move
I know im late..... I was gonna say it also, but I see some comments already ... a fast bike like a R1 can be just puttin around, it will be jumpy like that. I even get it from my Gixxer 600 in low gears. be safe homie.. salute
I think the problem with the shaking is that it’s a lot of displacement compared to your 400, the shaking is the power going to the wheel but you’re probably nervous and slowly letting it out so it shakes like that
When any vehicle shakes like that, probably about to stall cuz the gear is too high for the speed. R1 does 100 mph in first, you probably can't do 10 in second gear. Maybe stay in first until like 30 mph and play with the clutch.
1st gear can go all the way to practically 100mph. You’re gonna spend most of your time below 55mph in like 2nd or 3rd gear so stop shifting it like a car and shift it like a liter bike. Keep it above 6k rpm’s
@@tsharabi4 i went backwards and have an rsv4 and mt10sp but bought a zx4rr. You gotta take off FAST in comparison to a zx4rr, my mt10 idles at 12mph and the zx4rr is like 4mph lol. This one of many reasons why they don't recommend you to start on a 1000. Also, I used your discount code for Vcyclenut, thanks for that! Transformed the bike. I also had the Vcyclenut tune for my mt10. Love his work.
My advice give the bike some gas when taking off it's not an inline 4 where you can release and get rolling. And another thing don't always use the quick shifter use it at high speeds but when you're in the city just clutch it out
bro it’s not just cause of you taking off in second. that clutch needs to be adjusted if not replaced. a clutch engaging that fast can be a product of improper shifting and starting (burning the clutch). considering he said he didn’t even know how to use quick shift, i wouldn’t imagine he’s the most well versed with proper shifting. no matter the cc, you should always have enough space in the clutch to at least hear the rpm’s begin to drop; learned in feathering throttle exercises. Good luck with your new bike bro!
Yea this will show you why the 400 is more enjoyable on the street compared to a 1000cc. You won’t be going full throttle on this like you do with the 400 unless you plan going 100+. Congrats man be careful that’s alot of bike you got there ☝🏼
I think you should Just practise riding On that bike cuz it's 1000cc not 400 and you should give more gas than throw the clutch fast first, Just practise ride ✌️ Ride safe bro
the cluttering is from low rpm and it will shake, you also prob need to check ur shocks and ride height that will match ur riding style. Congrats and be very safe on that R1 because it is a really big jump and i have seen people do the same and you cant turn back time when shit hits the fan. PS. you were riding on first at start and downshifting / upshifting right, check the clutch handle / wire and maybe the owner wasted the clutch that you might need a replacement? who knows.
Im so confused rn 🤣 i thought you were gonna get the R9. I mean an R1 is an R1 🙂 fuck yeah dude! I recently was involved in a motorcycle crash and got rear ended by a GSXR. Insurance gave me 8k for my Z400 so i bought and Mt-09 SP 🙂 Thats why i was confused because the MT-09 is the smoothest bike I've ever ridden 🙂
@@FinityEdits-kr2qm I payed way too much for it. I payed 8700 that also came with a maintenance plan and stuff but I also got a refund from that as well 😄
notice how the bike smoothed out once you gave it more throttle? R1s arent meant to go slow be safe! I have the last R6 and the last R1M Ill never sale them!
This is a massive jump bro . Don't get too big for your britches . All it takes is one moment to ruin your life . Also how the fuck did the owner have this beautiful bike and not even know how to operate the quick shifter ? I would be reading the owners manual on the toilet for a month 😂😂😂😂
noticed you were going on a turn off really slow and you were in 3rd gear, need some practice with what gear to be in. Especially at stop lights you don't want to stall and get hut from behind stay safe. Go to a big parking lot and practice taking off and know what gear to be in. If your coming from a 400 it's not as forgiving being in the wrong gear.
@@tsharabi4 awesome man! I’m on the fence between the new ninja 500 and the zx4rr. My first bike. Do you think it’s worth the extra money going for the zx4rr?

It was shaking because you were in 2nd gear going 10mph brother lol
seems like he needs to get used to the power, smaller bikes might let you get higher revs at those low speeds but not these
Yeaa😂☠️

The clutch grabs really high and you need to give it gas. Also get your ecu tuned.

I have a 2024 R1. Its hard to take off in "rain" mode. Set that puppy to mode a or b and make sure ur in first gear also congrats on the R1
The bike shakes if you're in too low rpm. Go to a little higher rpm than usual before changing gears, I was confused too why it was happening to me

I see what comments are saying and idk I tried a Ducati v2 and got the hang of it (or so I think) pretty seamlessly. I have a 450cc bike.
Zx4rr now r1? Whats next? S1K, V4R? 💪
congrats dawg, ride safe and take care of my dream bike!!!
Thanks brodie come ride it whenever
Fantastic. Thanks for sharing, I know that feeling and have experienced it many times.
Youre in 2nd gear going 6mph. Downshift to the correct gear to avoid problems. And as for stalling thats just practice over time on a sensitive clutch
When any vehicle shakes like that, probably about to stall cuz the gear is too high for the speed. R1 does 100 mph in first, you probably can't do 10 in second gear. Maybe stay in first until like 30 mph and play with the clutch.
Same thing happened to me coming from a 400 to a 600. If ya don’t give it a lil more gas at take off it’ll be hoppy and bouncy.
Ohhh your the guy who’s r1 kept cutting off , keep going up bro 🤟🏽🌎

EP3 si GANG !
I bet it's eather a dropped valve or that timing chain is about to go

Stop takin off in 2nd gear bro. Gear progression just like a smaller cc bike. Can’t take off skipping gear 1 ❤️
You have not given a walk around and a in-depth review of this motorcycle
Very soon i got it 2 days ago and posted the vlog next day right away🙏🏼

What happened to the r9?
It’s still 3-4 months out waiting for it :/
get the akrapovic exhaust.. Yamaha claims that akrapovic is the best exhaust for this bike
