But in my opinion, even if it were $50k in gear, you could make something indistinguishable to a consumer for far less. If you've got the skills in the edit bay, most clients and consumers wouldn't know the difference between footage shot on a $2k camera and a $10k camera unless they're put side by side. Which, they never are in the "real world." So, go try your version with whatever gear you've got, and I be it would look phenomenal.

I could have all that equipment and not be able to do half what he did. Having good equipment shouldn’t downplay how talented he still is. He also DIY’d a lot of the shots.
You are aware that most of it is editing skill, right? There is some equipment to play but he got to this stage through hard work, not by going as low as complaining about other people's work

If you talking about this video specifically. Actually the box is "opened". Only that it has been cut straight by scissor or knife which make straight smooth edges. In the making however it is indeed sealed for that specific shot, however at 5:35 consumer will be thinking it has been open and in this way. So, the shot is actually logical and make sense for general views unless you pause and zoom.

Once I read somewhere that people recognise the difference between the noise of cold and hot water being poured into a bowl. Human mind is amazing , that if you listen well, you can tell that the sound in the and with the bowl is not coming from milk. Interesting , i thought most of these commercial's are done in a 3D software . What would be cheaper for a advertising company to do ? Hire a 3D Artist to model everything and compose into a commercial or actually filming it? Or maybe it has nothing to do with it , and it's about the way the commercial need to look?
Well as you can see it took Daniel a few hours combines to make that whole commercial, where it would have taken a lot longer to do that in 3D software.

I have no expertise in this whatsoever but it would make sense if they used 3D for expensive or large quantity of items like car parts or whatnot and use practical effect wherever they can to save time if the cost is reasonable.
