I am getting this tattoo. It's my rebirth and purity. Since lotus grow through muddy water, it's basically a good example of my experience. I am grounded and remain of pure heart although I can be in toxic environments and challenged all the time. I push through all odds due to my strength and power. You mentioned the Lotus Sutra but left out the literal point of that sutra. As we all know most plants/bushes/trees bloom flowers to attract bugs to spread pollen to eventually create new life in the plant, the fruit. The lotus flower bears fruit simultaneously as it flowers symbolized the effect happening at the same time as the cause. What this really means from the teaching of the Lotus Sutra is that without eliminating past accruement of bad karma in your past lives you can attain perfect enlightenment in your current form. This is a teaching that contradicts all previous Buddhist teachings yet is the true teaching of the Buddha.

I had a dream about a lotus.. the color i cant really signify.. it was purple but it looked maroon almost with a hint of pink.. it was alive and coming out of it was small floating yellow orbs and i was this orb observing the flower and watching these yellow orbs flow to and from the lotus. it was interesting and i'm searching for what it means and i'm being led to finding more about buddhism. not too sure what all this means but yeah... interesting
