Does anyone ever stop and think that the Universe is talking to them?
‘Talking,’ as in premonitions?
I do.
In 2017, after my 4th Combat-Tour as an Infantryman in the U.S. Army, I traveled from Savannah, Georgia to Monterey, California to visit my (now X) girlfriend the week that the music video for this song, Come Call Running, came out.
I knew that our relationship was over before I got on a plane to fly to her, and the video/lyrics of this song were a mirrored-image of what was to come while I was in Monterey. All of it; physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally. The situation that I was in consisted of everyone around me ignoring me, including my X, while I was trying so hard to mend our relationship.
And I mean that; we went to a party that lasted about 3-4 hours, and the entire time I could have, and did, yell at people that paid me absolutely no attention.
The situation was hard to explain, and even now it’s hard to believe that it actually happened, even though I was there to experience all of it. It was as if I had stepped into a parallel universe or something.
I was keeping up, but no one cared.
It was fucking crazy, to say the least.
If everyone was ignoring you, who was the "we" who went to the party? And what do you mean you were keeping up? Also, you mixed up the title of the song. This is a wild story. There has to be more to it, like you had done something to piss everyone off, or everyone in that scene was anti-war/military industrial complex or something... otherwise, like, what...?

Adam did something bad, (fill in the blank) had wounds from what he did, but finally forgave himself and now he is washed clean.BOOM! Forgiveness can be such a beautiful thing. I love this band! These videos remind me of my studying Eng Lit classes. The interpretation and all.

I disagree. Adam is crying for help but nobody sees him. Nobody helps him. Until the older gentlemen seems to find him out of nowhere and puts him in the bathtub, seemingly making him clean. The emergence at the end being him finally breaking the chains that were holding him down and allowing him to see what was there in front of him. What was truly beautiful and important the whole time. I still maintain that You Can’t Look Back and the corresponding videos are about recovering from addiction
@@HumanoidRogue I think that saddest part of the video for You Can't Look Back is that he was stumbling around, bleeding, and trying to get the attention of his friends and no one noticed he was struggling. I think it just makes me think about how sad it would be if it happened to me.

This left me so emotionally unstable. Taking Back Sunday is incredibly talented but I have to change. It’s not good to be broken-hearted. This video opens way too many scars. Adam, I suggest that you change as well. You have influence over so many people. Let it be known that Taking Back Sunday is a band that will lift you up. Not a group of guys who are set on breaking your heart. I love you so much. God bless!
This album came out around a year after my baby was murdered. I love listening to this song now and fantasizing about singing it to her. I still would be right now. I miss you.

I think this has a great message (kind of), that you could be dying and no one notices until you're dead. This is a really cool implementation of that mentality.

I liked it but not till the end. Can't look back and it's music video really got to me, because it felt like he was having his heart ripped out right in front of him, where you want to scream but no one hears you. And it really made the pain you feel a reality.

I think the connection between the 2 vids is that you have your friends there, you can never tell them that youre dying inside, thinking you have to protect the secret, you kept it inside you so that your friends won't think bad about the love that left, and as days go on, it starts to kill you, emotinally and mentally it weakens you until you want to just end it, no one will understand and truly no one since you kept it inside, then you retreat back to your family, they may not all get what youre going through but someone will always be there to pick you up.
