Such a weird concept to have to owner of the AirTag see your location but you can’t see nor possibly hear the location of the air tag. If someone is following you or stalking you there’s nothing you can do about it essentially until you actually find the air tag which is fucking stupid. we should be allowed to disconnect from any unknown AirTag that’s following us so that our location can’t be accessible nor can the air tag connect to your apple devices.
I agree with everything (and you), but I'm quite opposite on this: I'm tracking my bag/bike/car that has been stolen, and now the thief is getting informed of me tracking my own shit so he can get away with it. 😳🙄🤔 😡
Thank you, sir. The first time I could recall such a notification was a month ago at work. On my table, I saw an earphone lying around, but I did not touch it. When I took my break, I saw the notification, so I assumed it must've been the earphones. However, a day ago, while I was in Los Angeles traffic, I got the notification, so I freaked out. I mean, this happened on the freeway, miles away from home and work. Now I know what to do when the notification pops up. Thank you for saving me from stress and worry.
I hate this feature because it favours robbers who steal your valuable Air Tagged belongings. It notifies them instead of the owner! There seems to be no way to get notified when your tags move away from you, which should be the whole point of the tags.
For context : I go to college, someone planted an AirTag in my backpack and tracked my house where I live. They got my address and since it’s in my backpack they’d know when I’m leaving for school to rob my place. Really creepy sht. Definitely guarding my things more and this feature is a lifesaver, without it who knows? Maybe I could’ve been killed.
Oh so you have to physically disable it ok so if you hide it well enough you won’t be able to disable it with the phone ok cool that’s all I need to know
so what's the point of buying an air tag as a non criminal anymore? If the thief/criminal get's warned that he's been tracked, the only reason to buy air tags apart from locating my keys, would be if I would like to stalk someone, right? my conclusion is that apple should stop selling this devices...and I 'm sure that's what's going to happen;)
Bad tale. These are not tracking anti theft devices. There are devices for that. These are for locating lost items as apple actually tell you this exact thing. I for example was really REALLY bad at losing my wallet. My final straw was losing it before a cross country move. I then bought an air tag wallet and what do you know…i lost my wallet again. Found out quickly that i left it at apple bees and from it’s placement i could tell it was even in their lost n found.
I don’t even own an AirTag, but I’m being tracked by one, every time I go to school. I should have the option to stop a AirTag that’s not mine, and never has been put on me from following me,plus my phone has never been connected to ONEEEEE bruh this should be illegal and discontinued bc it’s not safe APPLE NEEDS TO DO BETTER IM SCARED TO FREAKING WALK OUTSIDE CAUSE IM BEING FOLLOWED
I don’t have airpod or anything but suddenly they sent me that notification and when I checked, it showed exactly where I went back to my house. Wth Apple 😡
So I got an alert from an unknown AirTag and I don’t own one. I tried using the sound to track it and pressed the “find my” button but it didn’t work. (Btw I was hovering next to it and over it when I did this). If none of those options work and I don’t physically have it, how can I disable it?
The only way to my knowledge is to physically find it and take the battery out. It needs an iPhone for signal, so you might try turning your phone off, then traveling a few blocks away and then turn it back on. If the message comes up again do your best to find it
I had this happen to a friend overseas I think a hotel employee put it in a backpack not to steal.the backpack , but know when the person wouldn't be in their hotel room so they could have access to valuables while they were away and keep tabs on their location
Hi, I travel for work and just now got the notification and accidentally got out and can’t go back to find the AirTag alert to disable it? I went to the Find My app and no other device shows on there? Any advice or help? Tha ks
@@dannyjohnsonsgarageso if it’s no longer in range that means it was a random AirTag right? I’m currently freaking out about this. I also travel for work
@@RobynOvermyer I believe so. It seems the notification continues to come up like an old text message history as well so look at the details to see if you can find a time it was saying. It should also show a map of where it had been
Does it continue to track you after the item is returned? I rented a car and the AirTag tracked me. That’s fine and I understand that part but the rental has sense been returned and it still shows the AirTag had tracked me. I can’t remove it.
You light still get the message one time or two afterward l, but once it’s not longer following you it shouldn’t give the the message longer. Maybe you have to acknowledge the message and it’s just still coming up
How do I change it so that the notification only comes up for AirTags? My sister listens to music on her AirPods Pro and since we live in the same house it won’t stop notifying me every night about it
I had this exact notification pop up on My phone, but there is no AirTag to be found. Also, the time it says where I was is wrong and I received the notification 19 hours later. Could this be a glitch?
Is there an air tag detector app I can download to my android so I can find out where it is. I think it's in my car, which would make it almost impossible to find.
You might need to find someone with an iPhone to trigger the sound. The battery will die at some point but it can last awhile. Someone at a car dealership may be able to help if they have an iPhone and you explain what’s happening
@@dannyjohnsonsgarage the option to play sound is grayed out on my phone. It does however send me notices that it’s moving with me. I don’t shave any other devices that could have it
Is there a setting in the iPhone that allows you to disable any communication with an AirTag? So your phone will not relay the AirTags location to Apple?
I wish there was, and I feel it should give you that option but it seems the only way is to find the air tag and take the battery out. I believe it is because the tag uses any iPhone to ping off of as its signal so they want it to always work as they rely on other phones for it to do so. That’s my understanding at least
My phone sent me about 3 notifications since last month saying that an air tag was following me but I don’t own any air tag and I can’t even find it. And the weird thing is that it happened to my sister too.. like she was just getting home, she got out of the train when she got a notification saying an air tag was following her and when she looked behind her all she saw was a man in a black jacket walking fast away from her?? It was at night btw so no one was there. There’s prob someone stalking me rn 💀..
It was probably from someone on the train who had an AirPod to track their luggage or a person. Open the app and it will show you where it has been. I got freaked out and almost pulled everything out of our suv, but having it chime was helpful
