if it's that hard to get out, especially if it's bleeding through paint, then it's not tar stains & is likely mold. Those are hallmark mold symptoms. Aspergillus mold does what you're describing, it'll look JUST like tar from cigarettes, but it bleeds through like that & clings to the walls and it can have an odor. I lived in a home that had aspergillus and I've lived in many homes of (and with) smokers, the smoking homes didn't have this but the home with aspergillus very much did. what many think are cigarettes staining everything is usually a specific type of mold.

What is it with tenants having the balls to sue landlords they owe money to. Of course they’re entitled selfish smokers too who don’t think rules apply to them.
I used to be a cleaner and we had to clean a smokers house. They smoked indoors and they knew how bad it was. We walked in and the smell hit me like a pile of bricks. Within 5 minutes of being there I had a massive headache and my chest started to hurt. We were there for 10 minutes, before I was like I can't. I was physically ill after for the rest of the day. Every surface was caked in brown goo from the buildup
You should never smoke in the house. My ex owned his own homes and he never smoked cigarettes inside. He also knew I was allergic so he didn’t even like me going out with him.
Smoikers are disgusting people. They seem to ignore the fact that the smoke and tar gets into everything - carpets, blinds, curtains, ceilings and walls. Of course they should pay for all the damage they cause. And of course the sort of people who smoke are the sort of people that would want a pit-bull. Horrible people. So oblivious of just how disgusting their behavior is that they have the audacity to sue the landlord who is left having to clean up and fix the damages they did.
I'm a smoker and my parents smoke and I got their place when they moved out and omg that shit was hell to get off the wall. Took me a week to sand a dresser down because it gummed up the sand paper so much I had to keep changing it. So I get his frustration.
The defendant is absolutely correct regarding the nicotine stained walls, blinds, curtains, cabinets, and everything else in the property. I had rental property that stated in the lease that it was a "no smoking of any kind or anything property.." I reminded the tenant on numerous occasions that she signed a lease forbidding smoking. When she moved out, my entire apartment was ruined and basically had to be completely remodeled. I had to physically wash every wall, ceiling, door, window, trim work, lights, and ceiling fans. The fans had a nightlight setting on them with a beautiful glass fixture that separated it from the rest of the lights. I also had to replace all the carpeting and the fabric blinds. It took me over a month to get my walls and ceings clean enough to be sealed with an odor/stain block primer called Kilz. No matter how much you wash the walls, nicotine stains and smell can not be removed enough to paint over. The stains and smell will still come through. My ceiling fans had nicotine in the nightlight, which is considered a sealed part of the fans. It was so thick that I had to scrape it off. I went through more cleaning supplies to clean that one apartment than I have in all of my years renting out properties. By the time I was finished, everything I used to cleaned it had to go in the trash, and my hands looked like they had been dyed orange, and I wore gloves. The smell, stains, and cigarette burns in the carpet were so bad I had to remove all the carpet and pad and wash and seal the wood floors before I could put new carpet in. It took me nearly 4 months to restore my property, and it cost me over $7,500.00, which was with me doing all the work. I had the carpet put in by installers, but I removed the old carpet and pad and sealed the floors myself. I can't even begin to imagine what it would have cost me to have all the work done by contractors. I don't think JM really realized just how bad a home gets when people smoke in it. It causes extreme damage, and it can devastate the homeowners' finances far worse than it did mine. Needless to say, I sued her and won, but at that time, the small claims court was limited to $5,000.00. I lost money doing it myself, I would never have been able to pay someone to do the work. The contractors that I did talk to wouldn't paint over washed walls and ceilings, they wanted to remove all the sheetrock, doors and trim work and put in new, for thousands of dollars that I didn't have. Tenants who smoke in the house don't think the landlord can tell they are smoking in the house because they can't smell it. Smokers are used to the smell, but for anyone that doesn't smoke, the smell is very obvious as soon as they enter the property and as with mine, before ever opening the door. There are a lot of great tenants and landlords out there. Unfortunately, there are also bad ones on both sides, who ruin it for the good ones.
Can't stand when defendants continue their mansplain after judge has interrupted them for the waste of her time while they talk about what they think SHOULD be important for her to know. It obviously isn't but they can't resist the opportunity to school a professional women.

The plaintiffs are the type of nightmare that makes a lot of people stay away from becoming a landlord. The landlord has so many liabilities, costs to offer a place for them to live. Of course they earn sone income from renting but it is like any business, but sometime it is not worth it when they have tenant like this. Being a mon and pop landlord is a lot of work and anxiety. I don’t deny the fact there are bad landlords, just as there are bad tenants. However, the way he generalized the landlords as greedy nasty people speaks a lot about how they will behave as a tenant. I feel sorry for whoever that is their current landlord.

False ...Y'all people was just nasty if u clean your home smoking makes no difference and will not do all what u said
@@bongoikno4994 damn bro I thought I was a clean freak.. you clean the yellow off your walls?
@@randyvac01 Smokers stink too...actually, they stink and everything around them stinks. Smokers with pets can be very filthy people. I used to work for Carpeteria and I can tell you some disgusting stories about smokers with pets. 🤢🤮 I'm talking so bad the floorboards had to be pulled up and replaced. Vile!
how did us non smokers ever live years ago inside homes with smokers...I don't remember any of us freaking out & being dramatic over it. When I looked for a house to buy I never refused to buy a house of a smoker...lol that would just be silly. Christ, everyone smoked years ago and I don't remember as a non smoker it ever being some horrible national incident. are people incapable of acting like mature adults these days or something???
_"I wanted to expose the landlord"_
Well you didn't, you end up with a bill ! 🤣
What is it with tenants having the balls to sue landlords they owe money to. Of course they’re entitled selfish smokers too who don’t think rules apply to them.
I Love When the Judge Gives the Plaintiffs the Full Amount that They're Suing For
Defendant did great with bringing detailed evidence
Smokers?..no thx..pitbull as a pet?...no thx..!
A smoking facility really!!!! They both sound so ignorant and entitled.
“Yup that’s bbq sauce”
That’s when I knew they was goin to lose 😂💀

I'm a smoker and I don't smoke in my house just because my kids, and the smell of stale smoke is disgusting!!
Imagine how the inside of the smokers body is, it's just awful. So many in my family, including my mom died from lung cancer, its no joke.

You should never smoke in the house. My ex owned his own homes and he never smoked cigarettes inside. He also knew I was allergic so he didn’t even like me going out with him.
Not JM with jeans 👖 & sneakers 👟 on, under that robe 👘 🤣
Smoikers are disgusting people. They seem to ignore the fact that the smoke and tar gets into everything - carpets, blinds, curtains, ceilings and walls. Of course they should pay for all the damage they cause. And of course the sort of people who smoke are the sort of people that would want a pit-bull. Horrible people. So oblivious of just how disgusting their behavior is that they have the audacity to sue the landlord who is left having to clean up and fix the damages they did.
Once I saw the defendant had a whole bulletin board, I knew it was game over
Smoking cigarettes period is nasty but smoking while pregnant is crazy…she should be ashamed of herself
Smoking is gross.
Plaintiff sounds like Tommy Davidson
I'm a smoker and my parents smoke and I got their place when they moved out and omg that shit was hell to get off the wall. Took me a week to sand a dresser down because it gummed up the sand paper so much I had to keep changing it. So I get his frustration.
That landlord was not playing. He came prepared. LOL
15:17-15:26 - Love how Doug gracefully rubs it in and basically tells him, you lost , you re a dirtbag, you got nothing, now go sign some documents
"That's bbq sauce, not nicotine sauce"

Smoke damage is no joke. And I’m a smoker! Just don’t smoke inside yall. You may be a smoker but that doesn’t mean everyone in the house is. In my humble opinion, it’s like putting alcohol in every drink in the house when you have roommates.

Hahaha…. He allowed me to smoke so he cannot charged me for damage…. Liked. He allowed me to drive his car; therefore, he cannot charges me for the dames I caused to his car. What’s such a brilliant concept.
The defendant needs to start a biz as a consultant for potential landlords. Shoot I want to contact this dude to mentor me!! 😂😂
I’m a smoker, I NEVER smoke inside though. I also can’t be anywhere where they smoke inside (I do miss doing it in bars though 😉) I’m also always respectful of my butts. I don’t like to punish anyone for my nasty habit ☹️.
