“Idk man, I just want to make money” quote of the year Blake. I like watching these videos. I don’t own a lawn care company but own a stump grinding company I learn a lot from you keep them coming.

We've had dump inserts for over 20 years. Now we only buy stainless steel or aluminum inserts. Steel is nice but will rust nonstop in 5 years and need to be sprayed with Rustoleum paint or you'll have rust stripes on your trucks all the time.

This was great information and should be motivation to anyone who knows or thinks that they are not charging enough for any of their services.
We raised prices last winter, for winter services, 20% for residential and 10-20% for commercial accounts. Then we followed that price increase up this spring for lawn mowing as well. 20% (R) and 10% (C). We also charge for our equipment usage on landscaping jobs or miscellaneous projects that are not lawn mowing related. E.G. Say we use a back pack blower to blow leaves in the fall or a hedge trimmer while trimming shrubs, chainsaw/pole saw for pruning trees etc. we charge $50.00 per hour for that piece of equipment usage, separate from and in addition to our hourly labor rates. This is very important for us, it’s similar to if you had to rent a machine that you do not own to complete a project, you would pass that expense on to your customers as well. This is how we can pay off equipment quickly without dipping into our labor earnings.
When we deliver topsoil, plants, stone etc.. we charge delivery fees and fees for dumping/removing debris, again separate from labor rates.
FYI, One day last week while on one of our mowing routes and sitting at a red light at a high traffic intersection where there are 2 gas stations, a strip mall and a dozen fast food restaurants etc.. we counted 11 different lawn/landscape companies trucks within our eyesight.
It’s fairly saturated in our area with landscaping, lawn care, grounds maintenance and gardening types of vendors. Peace

When I saw your first install on this I realized then I've GOT TO get m 1500 Silverado suspension beefed up to heavy duty.
I wouldn't want to haul real heavy but it would be great for a solo guy.
    For multiple reasons.
    Thanks Blake👊🏼🧔🇺🇸

When you do your invoice do you show the charge for equipment?

I never took care of my equipment, because I believed in just working the hell of them & just replace as needed. Then, I started realizing just how long some of your equipment can last. I had this one mower where I only changed the oil once and I used it up until it had 600 hours on it.

Why not just have it delivered like I do? I get having something like this to dump debris but just can't wrap my head around doing pickup Delivery then install.

The reason this is better as far as I’m concerned as a lawn care landscaper is that I get to dump it directly into my bucket or wheelbarrow instead of having to shovel it into the wheelbarrow and haul it. I do not think you’d want to be shoveling rock like this from the ground into a wheelbarrow. That would take forever and it would be backbreaking work

I don't have to raise prices yet because my prices were already high. My lowest is $60, when everyone lese charges $45 to $50

Do you take the dump insert out all the time? Does the hydraulics come out to use the truck bed instead of the insert?

But a trailer for 4k and it lasts 30 years with paying for it twice over for maintenance. 265 a year. 30 years from now 265 will be the price of a mowing

the key is someone else is paying for your equipment. That's how I look at it. I own it and other people baught it for me.

When a plumber comes to their house it's $100 just to even pull in the driveway not to look at anyting the customers don't tell them no I'm not paying that why do we got to be treated differently
