  • Checking my motorcycle clutch system for leaks, then cleaning out the clutch reservoir and bleeding through with fresh brake/ clutch fluid.
    My Suzuki Hayabusa GSX 1300 R Motorbike.
    Review. Motovlog , vlog , blog.
    The Gen2 Suzuki Hayabusa Motorcycle has 197hp (172hp at 10100revs at the rear wheel) and 138Nm torque (132Nm at 7600revs at the rear wheel) which gives it phenomenal acceleration from 0-60, 0-100 and all the way to its (restricted) top speed of 186mph. The Hayabusa ,or GSXR 1300 , really is an awesome Hyper sports/ tourer.

    That's the down side of having a full fairing. Have done similar clean on my old bandit 1200 and bent the backing plate!!! I also changed the fluid in the 1250 recently.

      banditnev , I have had Fully faired bikes before, (Gsxr600, Gsxr1000, Gsx1250Fa) and in comparison to the Busa they were easy to de-frock!

    Glad your chain and that towel by your rear wheel didn't try to copy your drill/bench towel antics! Nice to see also that the mob of taxi drivers have finally vacated your front garden!! ;0) Nice job - thanks as always for sharing!

      Mike Openshaw , the towel is strategically placed so i can test the clutch, clean the tyre and clean the chain. . . I wouldn’t make the same mistake twice! . . . would I?
      The taxi drivers never found me! There’s a mini roundabout at the bottom of my road which they’re still trying to figure out how to manoeuvre around?!?

    Is there any difference between brake fluid and clutch fluid?

    I loved the way you explained and covered almost everything , i have a question to ask , my bike (hayabusa 2017) is leaking clutch oil from that compartment where the clutch caliper is located near the front sprocket , and it slowly leaks in a months time and i find the clutch fluid reservoir empty/ half filled with black oil , kindly suggest me , i am so irritated because of this problem ...!!!!!!

      Upkar Singh , perhaps the seal on the piston has started leaking?

    Where did you get you bleed bottle from? I've been looking for a good, simple one but I have only seem expensive, complicated kits.

    i try to start my bike in neutral or in gear with the clutch pulled in and the bike just lurches forward and won’t start. i replaced the battery and everything seems to be getting good voltage do you think the clutch needs bleeding? thanks!

    • @bikerantics5001
      @bikerantics5001  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, are you definitely putting it in neutral? If the bike is in neutral it won’t matter if the clutch is pulled or not because there is no gears engaged🤔, so it shouldn’t lurch at all🤷‍♂️

    • @TheKnightsBurrito
      @TheKnightsBurrito 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@bikerantics5001 yeah i put it in neutral and it won’t turn over i’m as confused as you lol i’ve never had an issue with my hayabusa starting

    • @bikerantics5001

      @TheKnightsBurrito I’m definitely confused now?!? In your first comment you try and start the bike in neutral or in gear with the clutch pulled in and it ‘LURCHES FORWARD’. In this comment you’re saying it ‘WON’T TURN OVER’?!? So which is it? Coz if it’s ‘lurching’ it IS turning over and if it won’t ‘turn over’ it AIN’T gonna lurch??

    • @TheKnightsBurrito
      @TheKnightsBurrito 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@bikerantics5001 well it won’t turn over in neutral with the clutch not pulled in and the button pressed, i have the kickstand wliminator switch so it doesn’t matter if the stand is up or down. if i put it in gear it lurches forward with the clutch engaged and spins over but won’t start sorry

    • @bikerantics5001
      @bikerantics5001  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @TheKnightsBurrito . . . are you winding me up🤣
      It shouldn’t turn over without the clutch pulled in.
      Removing the kickstand safety switch, in my opinion, is a ridiculous thing to do.
      It shouldn’t lurch forward in gear with the clutch engaged because it shouldn’t turn over without the clutch pulled, unless you’ve ‘eliminated’ the clutch switch as well?, which I think on younger Suzuki’s it puts a warning light on the dash if the clutch switch is constantly wired. I’d start by putting the wiring back to factory and seeing if you still have a fault🤷‍♂️

    Realize I'm late in the game but, how did you clean the inside that cover that you removed? Thoughts on spraying the hell out of it with brake clean?

    • @bikerantics5001
      @bikerantics5001  หลายเดือนก่อน

      If it’s okay for cleaning brakes I’m sure it’ll be just as good on your clutch. They’re both hydraulic systems with rubber seals🤷‍♂️

    • @pmp6972
      @pmp6972 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ever tried brake clean mate?
      Brake clean is not good for rubber seals though.

    • @bikerantics5001
      @bikerantics5001  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@pmp6972 I’m pretty sure brake cleaner is especially designed not to harm rubber brake seals. I’ve been using it for years and seen no adverse effects on my seals. Ultimately it’s entirely your decision what to use on your brakes and clutch systems. All I can do is tell you what I’ve used and how it worked for me, and I’ll continue to use it unless I find something better🤷‍♂️

    • @pmp6972

      I was simply being cautionary. Not preaching at all. I too haven't found issues with brake clean. However, newbies unlike yourself should be careful. No more no less.
      Nice bike btw. I too have dirty hydro clutch side and am facing the exact same job.
      What year of Hayabusa's have you worked on? I have a 2003 and lost the key. Called a locksmith and was asked to find a key code or ignition code. Getting mixed signals in the searches I've done so far...

    • @bikerantics5001
      @bikerantics5001  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I didn’t take it as preaching just conversation 👌
      If newbies are using brake cleaner they’ve no need to be cautious because it’s designed for cleaning brake and clutch systems👍. If they’re going to apply copper grease they need to be cautious 🫣.
      Good luck with cleaner your system out🙏
      Both my Hayabusa’s have been 2008’s, this one in the video with abs and my current one without abs. Possibly the only option for the key is a main dealer with your registration document and frame number🤷‍♂️. Failing that probably a new ignition and key. All a bit pricey, good luck sorting it, let me know how you get on 🤞

    Não acredito que você tirou a tampa da embalagem e não foi capaz de desmontar o pistão da embreagem e dar uma limpeza geral me desculpe mas mesmo sendo a primeira vez que você tirou a tampa deveria ter dado uma geral mas você fez um serviço porco se você tivesse tirado o pistão da tampa teria feito um ótimo serviço mas como não fez ficou um serviço bem porco.
