Guys. I know about the lock-on feature being togglable. I've known it well before this video was made. It's in the menu and can be turned off even when playing a stage. Turning it off makes ranged gameplay worse because stages do not make enemy placement with horizontal only shooting in mind, and gameplay does not function as a standard MMX game. It'll only push you into using swords more. I go into this in my original review that I reference at the beginning of the video. I've gotten so many comments about this one thing that I have to ask to stop telling me about it. lol
Sorry. It is a pretty obvious question for Mega Man fans to ask that haven't gotten into X Dive. It's basically a make or break deal. It's better to make ranged gameplay worse than to make it mindless.
@@Emberson-9000 Oh, no you're good. I remember your comment. You were just asking if it was available. Sorry for the confusion but you weren't the one I was addressing. The one thing I appreciate about this game is that they at least preserved a version of game for those who really liked it. I'm still supper bummed out that Final Fantasy Record Keeper is just gone for good (global release).
I find the enjoyment comes from the fact you can create different save files. since you can start over whenever you want you can create all the challenge runs possible. (within reason) and that added replayability helps in people wanting to come back to it. Im currently doing a Roll only run, but mabey next time ill actually do a B rank run instead. or a no shop run.
this is how i enjoy most of my games lol. a game just having dificulty settings, multiple save files, a timer or just a simple score system add so much replayability to it.
Yeah! That's so good Its very fun doing things like a run without unlocking shields, auto-heal or invencible skills/passives with disabled auto-aim, damage numbers, hp-display and active precise jump. Feels nice, fighing ViA vas too fun xD
I went into X Dive Offline with the mindset of it being "Lego Mega Man," and with that perspective I've been having an absolute blast with it. It's a good game to chill out with, mess around with characters I love, and casually grind when I don't feel like playing something more intensive. Granted I never really got into the original version, so everything is fresh to me.
Don't worry. You ain't missing much in comparison to the original version. The original version is much grindier and constantly tries to nickel and dime you. So this version is actually a huge technical improvement.
My one genuine complaint with this version is the lack of all collabs.. for some reason? It kinda upset me having those versions of the characters being taken away.
As someone who played the original gatcha version off and on, I have been having a pretty good time with the offline version and would reccomend it if you're looking for a decent megaman game to take with you on your phone and play whenever you have a few minutes to kill. Quest rewards are surprisingly generous so I've rarely run into moments where i felt a need to grind and with all the events in the games lifespan being available to you at any moment once unlocked you can easily run through them for quick rewards and event characters/items. My one 'complaint' with the game is something you'll likely realize very early on which is sort of due to the nature of this originally being a gatcha game. There's a lot of equipment and characters that are basically objectively superior to many others and are just as if not easier to obtain so there's no reason to use the low tier stuff unless you're doing some sort of challenge run or just really like the character for some reason (I don't care how bad he is I still love playing Servbot lol) 90% of the time I found myself just using the free S class hunter X and Zero you get after the first couple missions because they were just so much better than any of the B and A class chars you get memories for through story progression. Same thing with weapons, why would I ever buy the military buster when the bio buster shows up in the shop at the same time and money is never a problem in this game? I guess it's a natual side effect of the games origins being what they are but it would still have been nice to find a way to bring some of those lower power chars/weapons up to par with what used to the the premium super mega ultra delux gatcha items made to be objectively better than everything else so everyone would pull for them. 8/10 though very cool to be able to make some of the uber tryhard whale builds you'd see online in the old version and feel just how op they are without having to shell out hundreds of dollars into the gatcha pit lol
I appreciate CAPCOM's efforts to preserve a gacha game when they are usually left to rot, but 30$ for a game that was already weak even by mobile game standards is too much for me. I liked how the online version had a lot of the X series characters that were previously forgotten return, but ultimately it didn't do even that particularly well.
Honestly, as a Megaman fan I would buy this game just to try out different armors/characters basically like what you said "power fantasy" to add, it would really depend on the person to buy this game. its not bad, its not that great either.
I love it cause it has some of the gotcha game feel without the gotcha mechanics and no constant need to login daily or I miss out on a reward. I just play when I get time. Right now I’m just unlocking characters through the story and if they have are in the zeni shop I max out there stars to help with the overall stats. S Class X is my current main though.
don't take this the wrong way. im not trying to be a "well actually" type of guy. but i would like to inform you that it is actually "gacha" not "gotcha". i understand the confusion because of the whole loot box thing with these types of games and them taking peoples money but "gacha" is actually an onomatopoeia for the sound the little vending machines make that dispense mystery toys
$30 is nothing compared to the hundreds and thousands of dollars many have spent on the “free” version of the game alongside the bad RNG system and terribly unbalanced pvp mode where there were straight up unfair matches where you couldn’t do anything. PVP and collab characters aren’t even a big deal being removed especially when they were small compared to all the other characters alongside the fact that they were time limited and you weren’t even guaranteed to get them anyways alongside the long agonizing grind that would make most give up because no one wants to wait months or years just to finally get the stuff they want.
there are still a lot of characters i wish both versions have. one of the characters i badly wanted is the version of Zero from X1, the one with round shoulders and did not have any Z-Sabers. also boss Characters like a playable Chill Penguin, Storm Owl, etc.
As someone who is a megaman fan but never played x dive i say its worth it, i like how it plays and lest face it probably the last time we will see the characters in something "new" for the west at least
I never played the mobile version. I’m not into those gacha slot machine games. I am a huge Mega Man fan and I must say, I am LOVING this game. It’s been a dream for me. This has so much content that the 30 dollars has been more than worth it. I leveled up pretty quickly and day 1 and the grind doesn’t bother me. I don’t have much time to play during the day so this made me very happy. There’s so much to unlock and discover. I know about the collab characters and I love DMC, Street Fighter, and Monster Hunter. I hope it’s released as DLC. Over all, for me it’s been worth it and it plays incredible on SteamDeck and PC.
People are also making good mods on Nexus, releasing characters and weapons, cut content and so on! They restored the raid mode and coop for the most part (and no not like connectivity, just the stages)
Thanks for the review video. I've been very interested in this Offline version as a Mega Man fan and had a short experience with the Online version but didn't want to invest to do the game's gacha. I might wait for a decent sale on this game now or wait until I got more spare funds to spend on games.
I was always a bit aloof towards this game as I didn't really want to play another gacha lol. That being said, the character art and all that is fantastic. I'm glad it got preserved via an offline version. I can see this going on sale in the near future and I may pick it up then. It'd be the perfect Steam Deck game tbh lol. Hoping Vergil Trigger Zero gets modded in at some point if possible.
Megaman X Dive Offline should go to the route where Super Mario Maker do. Since the sandbox/simulation type of Game itself does have tons of potential to create user-generated level design and unique challenges, I would be far more willing to pay the 40-dollar game if they just had this type of function. For now, X Dive is best to wait until the sales drop.
I'm also a huge megaman x fan myself. I like the fact that you can also play as different characters from the series, than also include different villains and rivals. I'm also thinking about doing a different run since I beat the game already. Any suggestions on what type of run that I should try?
4:00 yeah, i think this point should not matter as much because you wanna use who you like at this point, or you wanna use the top tiers just to curbstomp everything? there is no reason to really use the top tiers other than "i wanna speedrun the game" or that you MAY legitimately like them. its not like the offline version is completey unbeatable with base X right? this ain't a gacha anymore, so you arent forced to suffer unless youn get the top tiers.
Out of all examples you could have used to show the difference between X and XDive gameplay.... Why use one of the most easy bosses ever? I mean, it did seem like a tougher challenge on XDive than in X2, which kinda contradicts the message that the originals are more skill based games in comparison. Also, isn't it possible to turn off the lockon feature for a more authentic X style gameplay? I remember that being a thing in the online version of the game, was it removed in the offline version?
I was curious about this game and I listened to the majority of this review and thought, "Looks nice, but I'll probably give it a pass." Then I looked at you taking down the SNES X2 intro boss and was pushed towards ckecking this game out. Why? Because while that boss is easy, that you demolished it like that shows you're too darn good at the game. For people like me who aren't as good, I WANT something easier. One of my biggest pet peeves about the Legacy Collection's Challenge Mode is that some of those challenges are too much and I'll forever have unfinished content. I hate that.
That is an understandable mindset. I'm a speedrunner so I spent a lot of time trying to get good at X games and I did complete the Challenge Mode on Normal (Hard mode is only halfway through and is a long term project). X DiVE is easy but I'll always hold to the opinion that it is fun.
I love this game. Offline is how you preserved a gacha game, so people don't have to see it go away. Sure eventually you will get bored like a conventional gacha game. but when want to play it, it's there waiting for you.
I hope you can still unlock Yankee Eratoeir, she is one of my favorites A shame Zinogre Iris didn't make it :( She was my most favorite char in the OG X Dive
Idk if you know it , but 6:26 you could try it without auto aim. It's possible to desactivate auto aim in option ,in the pause memu in missions. (Not in the main menu, you need to be in the mission, just scroll down). It's make the game way more fun and harder then juste walking and hold the attack button.
I've stated this in another comment that brought up the same thing, but I've turned off auto-aim when I was playing the online version for a few hours. My verdict on it is it doesn't make the game better as enemy placement is not optimized for it, and you more or less compensate with more sword usage.
Genuine question: I know that the game gives you S-Class X and Zero early on, but why didn't you try challenging yourself with building different characters, finding different weapons and/or playstyles? I've played through the game for 8 hours and some of the most fun I've had was challenging myself with how Hard Mode now scales, trying out only melee builds, only ranged, a mix of both, low powered characters, weapons that fit the characters.. I'm trying to make Massimo work in Hard maps and it's been a ton of fun. I won't for a second argue that XDive offline is the best game in the series, but if you limit yourself, the game can genuinely become really good. I don't remember the last time I lost to Overdrive Ostritch or Chill Penguin while trying builds out. But I do recognize that you can break or engage very little with its levelling systems and variety for close to no consequence, the game could've had much tighter progression. Personally, I'm happy to receive "new" X singleplayer content, and XDive offline delivered a very fun experience to me, experimenting all kinds of characters and builds. Also, usually my battles with the X2 intro boss take longer and I need to dodge more, but the highest ranked characters I commonly use are Megaman.EXE and First Armor X. X2 is much more tightly designed, but, just like you've said, I think someone is missing the point in stomping the game or only playing a single character. Great review!
To straightforwardly answer your question: I played the Gacha version and tried out different characters there, and also the game had extremely slow progression, so things couldn't be unlocked easily and the Combat Power cliffing could be extreme sometimes. So since I had my fill there, in the Offline version I basically did Super Saiyan X -> Dive Armor X to unlock all the content for the sake of reviewing differences. You're completely right that Offline's biggest highlight is that you can make what you will of it. I made sure to try to make this point in the video. As a Speedrunner I can easily see myself trying to speedrun all stages as a specific character that isn't overpowered. So I do understand the appeal of it.
So I'm having trouble getting the game to start and I'm looking for help anywhere I can. I bought the game and it won't load. At first the game would do the startup loading fine, but then when the word "analyzing" appeared in the bottom right it would not progress past that. I know the game hadn't crashed because the icon was spinning and there were the blips when I poked the screen, but it just wasn't doing anything. Even if I left it sit for over an hour it would not progress past that, not even a title screen. I tried deleting and reinstalling it and that actually made it worse. Now it won't even get past the startup loading. Now it stops somewhere around 72-80% and never goes any further no matter how long I wait, and again I know it hasn't crashed because the screen still reacts to touch. I've looked online for help and haven't seen a trace of anybody else having this problem. NOBODY is mentioning performance issues. I know my phone is compatible because I'd previously played the online version on this same exact phone and had no issues at all, and I did check compatibility on Google Play and it said I was compatible and I confirmed that my OS is up to date and everything. I know a TH-cam comment section is probably not the best place to be looking for help, but I don't have any social media accounts and _really_ don't want to make one just for this. I hope someone can help me.
I played the mobile awhile back hoping to play Servbot because I saw he was playable in a video I saw but couldn't get him because I didn't know really how so eventually gave up and stopped playing, is he in this version as well? and if so is he easy to get? Servbot Superiority!!!
It's an offline game with hours worth of content. It's difficulty depends on how you upgrade your characters. Most will of course max their favorites. It's a VERY fun game. It has hundreds of levels and shittons of characters to use.
Did it ever fix the English translation? There are so unprofessional typos, grammar mistakes, and strange sounding dialogue too in the original that was never once changed when I played at least.
First time player, and B Rank X still going strong on Chapter 15! Like, not even a "oooh, I'm doing a gamer challenge" feeling, he just works OK. With all the phone game stuff and manual aiming turned off, it's like an easy-ish Mega Man X game. Plus S Rank X doesn't get the cool red scarf
Well, it is being sold on a totally scammy price at my country (135 of our local currency which is a lot), but I respect the fact that they tried releasing the full version of a dead gacha without the bad monetization part. Maybe, one day, I may buy it with a discount on Steam...
Hmm, I'll definitely wait for a sale but man I'm really impressed with what the modders have managed to do for the game so far. Lots of new characters, some restored content, etc. I'm excited to see what else they can do in the future. If we ever get to the point where stages are added in lol, that would be nuts. And yea I'm definitely an X fan, I appreciate the more mature approach to graphics & story & the gameplay of X to the original series. Although legends will always be my favorite mm series.
I never play regular x dive, and recently I play offline and I like it. As a new player, being able to use a lot of boss character and many others you were never able to use in the original games is pretty sick. -Some may have minor details Like, all the characters having their dialogues mixed up, for example omega. No... He Ha Ho! Or... had had dorya!. (buster x slash combo) Copy X screaming Yaah every time he jumps, instead on his nova strike. etc. Seems like the developers never played the original games. -The voices and sound effects, sound much louder than music. -The voices of some bosses sounding too low even at maximum. But overall the game was really fun to play.
I'm glad it wasn't £30 for me but £25 which seems kinda right for a standard game. If I were to see is as a mobile game then yeah its expensive. But I'm glad I bought it despite the cut features and other cool things (seriously Capcom you own those properties and p2p connections is a viable option for pvp). I admit I'm part of the problem buy pre-ordering this but I want new Megaman games and for that to happen you need to show them the money. Perhaps they'll add the crossover characters as dlc or something and maybe mods will allow pvp (even though I've not played pvp myself). As things are if someone were to ask me is the offline version worth getting I'd tell them wait for a sale.
I think for megaman fans this game Might be a cool game for them but those who have no idea about megaman might not enjoy because in my opinion it’s one of those games that not anyone would enjoy playing it since it’s way different from games nowadays
Good or not, this is how (all) mobile games should go for the sake of preservation. It's just sad how games like this run on a server, and just goes vaporware when that goes down. Future generations will have what they have, but they'll live life wondering if something was worth the time
But they need to have the idea how to do it Because if this become norm there's always publishers afraid people will just wait the gacha game to expire and then release offline version. And for gacha game players they can be bummed about the idea of buying the game again. A better idea will be discount the gacha player depending on their progress or spend money then they will be in
*One thing about this video I gotta bring up is when you brought up the events in this game and how all of them are in the offline version, there are a couple missing, like the crossover events with Monster Hunter Rise and Devil May Cry 5, and I think one more game? I dunno but that's really the only thing that was on my mind other than that great overall video I agree with pretty much everything here myself though I ain't that well in versed with the X franchise other than X1 and the Zero and ZX games.* Side rant: I don't really know what would qualify as a game with Mega Man X DNA very well, being that I barely got through X1 up until the end game as a teenager in the 2010's, which I just pretty much quit after that whole first act after nailing Vava finally, I beat the first 3 MMZ games got a little side winded with Z4 I've still yet to beat it, and it was just too easy to get lost in ZX because of the weird map and metroidvania like world, which thankfully ZXA resolved and I was able to beat. Needless to say ZX 1 never got completed either cuz again I kept getting lost lol.
I got the game as a gift and i can say, even if i played the online version for 1 year i enjoyed Offline version, as for collab characters i can think of something, i spoke with some japanese people and they told me something which i'll explain. X DiVE is a IP from capcom taiwan and other IPs like Monster hunter, Street Fighter and Devil may cry, are IPs from Capcom that has nothing to be with taiwan side so the thing is licenses and stuff, the devs and teams from these IPs are different and of course between both sides they have to speak about it for said licenses
Good video, was watching this since steam had recommended this to me and i usually play a lot of gachas, plus mega man is a classic childhood series of mine. it looks interesting and id give it a try
Kinda loving it, that Mega Man X Dive has an offline version but wish they added the collab characters as an expansion pack. The only retro gacha game has a offline version. Wish other retro games turn gacha game, made an offline version too. We have Contra, Metal Slug and other retro games turn gacha online. The problem is the connection, getting kick out if the signal is weak and losing the retro feeling because you have to pay lots just to pass a level. It's not the same like before, time it right and luck to pass a certain level.
I can only hope the modding community eventually finds a way to reintroduce coop and PvP. There was something tremendously enjoyable about going into PvP with ViA■ and absolutely dumpstering the Next DiVE Armor X spammers. ....And I guess, if I'm honest, I just miss the strange sense of community the game had. There's always the global version as an option, but I just can't bring myself to start over. I had so many rare and absurdly powerful things.
I'm not interested in paying for this, even if it's reduced probably, but I see that the free version is still in the play store. What's going on with the free version from this point? Is it staying under some capacity or still in the process of being removed? I just don't wanna get into it now just to not be able to play it anymore in a week unless I buy the offline version.
It always made me laugh how in this game the first OC girl (the one in the menus, I don't know her name) they tried hard to make her look like a Megaman character, but the rest of them, they Drop the Ball and all the others are artistically out of place and don't look like Megaman characters at all. They look like one of those generic robot anime girl figures that you order online.
The only thing i miss from the Mobil Global vertion is "Gore ICO" and dont like that the armor builder/workshop is not random in Offline as it is in Mobile vertion. It is okay , just only want to be able to use my X-box kontroler in the menus, that is mouse only. Edit: and probely never no new carakter or weapons, maby dlc one day.
got it for a while now. really fun. until you hit magma dragoon which is a massive skill check. you need to make sure you upgrade all your stuff. unless u find out where the ride armour is :D also marina that ninja chick is honestly the best all around char. mostly because u can only jump then either dash or jump. but with her u can double jump then double dash because of her ability. and u get her fairly early on. and her 2nd is shurikens. which allow u to pause in midair. great for some bosses like penguin.
I'll be honest. The original Free to Play version; I miss X Dive quite a bit; the nostalgia, the plot - & I'll say 1 of the BEST communities in a game, I've seen, everyone there is polite, helpful & discussing favorite moments in the Mega Man universe But I don't miss the gatcha, micro transactions... The shear grind - that I hate to admit, the day to day upkeep; which required your daily routine to get the most out of the game; miss a day, & you would find yourself potentially missing out on some good stuff, like the needed parts of a new Character, Weapon, etc - you basically had to give X Dive Online Version, your entire day, every day, & would feel like I'm enthralled to the game - & would cause a burn out - I can't even look at traditional Mega Man & MMX games the same way But the NOSTALGIA OF IT ALL!!! I mean; the thrill of FINALLY getting that 1 Character; & being like "OH...!! I remember that one! It had the Double Charage Shot!" Or "X's 3rd Armor!! With the Cross Charge Shot, that filled the screen! & his Gold Armor!!" Or "Super Mega Man, from MM7!! & BASS!?" Or "X~Kai!? The 4th X Hunter; Meant for MMX2!?" (Interesting lore there) X Dive Online, was like the Dragon Ball Xeno Verse of Mega Man X / Rock Man X Games, with an "everyone is here!" deal - that hooks you nostalgia, or that fix you long for Neverwinter Online is like that too Also, X Dive's Soundtrack; The remixed covers of MMX Boss songs, while fighting familiar foes, never gets old I loved X Dive Online, it was fun; & makes me want to get back into it; but I can't help but look past the parts that unfortunately, burnt me out - mainly, the pressure to play the game, day after day after day, all day every day, with no breaks, except when sleeping, eating, going out for a walk, etc I love a game that gives me lots to do; but I like being able to take breaks from it, & play it on my terms, rather than feel like an obligation From the looks & sounds of X Dive Offline Version, with the ability to play the game on your terms, unlock stuff naturally, as opposed to daily grinds, gatchas, microtransactions, etc... I'm considering giving it a charged up shot - after all; Mega Man is a game series I can't say no to, or anything similar (20XX, I strongly recommend) -- Thaks for the review
Personally I wasn't the biggest fan of x-dive, I mean it's still better than 99% of other gachas just not that great as a mega man game imo. I'm just glad it got released. I hope every gacha game that shuts down has an offline version from now on.
Playing ir makes me wish I was plauing a regular game. But on the other hand, is fun play as all the characters that aren't playable normally. My major disconfort isnplaying it on Steam. It was cleary made with smartphones in mind, so usong a controler makes the simple gameplay much easier
Never played the Gatcha version so I don't have the perspective but man let me tell you the longer I play the more fun I'm having. I also saw the Modding commmunity are developing tools to start adding new characters and content so honestly I think we won.
Guys i have serious problem i have on app store megaman x dive offline and its for money and megaman x dive mobile --- for free .... can someone explain the diffrence ?
Watching you play this, I wouldn’t recommend it. I really like the style of the mega man x5 and 6. It’s nowhere near as good. And the music isn’t as good
thanks for the review ❤ i never played the actual game but having this is cool so having it for the first time will make you play it perhaps till you beat the game or nuh. i can think of this game as a spare tire in which case you wanna go back to it to have some fun
I stayed away from this game just because it's a gacha game lol. I may pick this up someday. Companies should do this sort of thing for every gacha/live service game that gets shut down.
Yup same here, I hated that the “free” version was online only and that it was a predatory gacha game with loads of microtransactions encouraging people to spend lots of real money on the game. I’m glad this version exists.
The removal of collabs is one of my only two issues with it since it means we technically get less content i guess? But i will say the thing that bothers me more is how we dont have any multiplayer anymore (I know its called offline but i still wish we had like a basic way to do online pvp or co-op pier to pier i guess lol) Either way, its still fun yeah.

My one genuine complaint with this version is the lack of all collabs.. for some reason? It kinda upset me having those versions of the characters being taken away.
Yeah I can't really explain that one myself.
Licensing issues most likely be the reason
@@Drakkonus What about the collab with Monster Hunter, which Capcom owns?
@@HeraldOfOperacould be an author/creator issue like the Strider games can't be made without the Manga author permission.
There wasn’t that many anyway
There's a lot of equipment and characters that are basically objectively superior to many others and are just as if not easier to obtain so there's no reason to use the low tier stuff unless you're doing some sort of challenge run or just really like the character for some reason (I don't care how bad he is I still love playing Servbot lol)
90% of the time I found myself just using the free S class hunter X and Zero you get after the first couple missions because they were just so much better than any of the B and A class chars you get memories for through story progression.
Honestly, as a Megaman fan I would buy this game just to try out different armors/characters basically like what you said "power fantasy"
to add, it would really depend on the person to buy this game. its not bad, its not that great either.
As somebody who spend 30 in Warframe i wish Warframe will get this kind of treatment in year when Windows 13 drops
there are still a lot of characters i wish both versions have. one of the characters i badly wanted is the version of Zero from X1, the one with round shoulders and did not have any Z-Sabers. also boss Characters like a playable Chill Penguin, Storm Owl, etc.
As someone who is a megaman fan but never played x dive i say its worth it, i like how it plays and lest face it probably the last time we will see the characters in something "new" for the west at least
This would be a really smart move if most major mobile games got an offline version once it was done
Yea have it on deck, its noice
Megaman X Dive Offline should go to the route where Super Mario Maker do. Since the sandbox/simulation type of Game itself does have tons of potential to create user-generated level design and unique challenges, I would be far more willing to pay the 40-dollar game if they just had this type of function.
For now, X Dive is best to wait until the sales drop.
I'm also a huge megaman x fan myself. I like the fact that you can also play as different characters from the series, than also include different villains and rivals. I'm also thinking about doing a different run since I beat the game already. Any suggestions on what type of run that I should try?
4:00
yeah, i think this point should not matter as much because you wanna use who you like at this point, or you wanna use the top tiers just to curbstomp everything?
there is no reason to really use the top tiers other than "i wanna speedrun the game" or that you MAY legitimately like them.
its not like the offline version is completey unbeatable with base X right? this ain't a gacha anymore, so you arent forced to suffer unless youn get the top tiers.
1:57 What kind of Mega Man game is this? lol
Question. Can you turn off the lock on system?
Out of all examples you could have used to show the difference between X and XDive gameplay.... Why use one of the most easy bosses ever? I mean, it did seem like a tougher challenge on XDive than in X2, which kinda contradicts the message that the originals are more skill based games in comparison.
Also, isn't it possible to turn off the lockon feature for a more authentic X style gameplay? I remember that being a thing in the online version of the game, was it removed in the offline version?
I didn't even know this game existed until this popped in my feed, but this is a good video. Got a sub from me.
No vergil? Bwomp
I was curious about this game and I listened to the majority of this review and thought, "Looks nice, but I'll probably give it a pass."
Then I looked at you taking down the SNES X2 intro boss and was pushed towards ckecking this game out.
I hope you can still unlock Yankee Eratoeir, she is one of my favorites
A shame Zinogre Iris didn't make it :( She was my most favorite char in the OG X Dive
Yep. All seasonal character variants are included as long as it's not a collab character, it's there.
@@StriderVM are her skills still as busted or she got nerfed? Her explosion was too powerful
@@TheTrueBro AFAIK, only PVP centric skills were altered.
@@StriderVM uh iono she was powerful in all modes
Then she's still strong lol
Idk if you know it , but 6:26 you could try it without auto aim. It's possible to desactivate auto aim in option ,in the pause memu in missions. (Not in the main menu, you need to be in the mission, just scroll down). It's make the game way more fun and harder then juste walking and hold the attack button.
I've stated this in another comment that brought up the same thing, but I've turned off auto-aim when I was playing the online version for a few hours. My verdict on it is it doesn't make the game better as enemy placement is not optimized for it, and you more or less compensate with more sword usage.
I hope DFFOO gets the same treatment when it dies. Its too good and has so much cool story moments to die to the void of only mobile.
Don't worry, I don't even have money.
*Pirate Man theme sounds*
Since mobile games tend to die off pretty fast and get replaced by a clone, they all should do this instead of shutting down entirely
Honestly it sounds like if they added x dive stage creator whit you being able to force what character, upgrades, etc it would be much better
btw I appreciate you crediting the music but I can barely hear it
Well, it is being sold on a totally scammy price at my country (135 of our local currency which is a lot), but I respect the fact that they tried releasing the full version of a dead gacha without the bad monetization part. Maybe, one day, I may buy it with a discount on Steam...
Watch him talk and see a female avatar move, really throws me off from watching the video.
(buster x slash combo)
Copy X screaming Yaah every time he jumps, instead on his nova strike. etc.
Seems like the developers never played the original games.
-The voices and sound effects, sound much louder than music.
-The voices of some bosses sounding too low even at maximum.
But overall the game was really fun to play.
The fact that this game has so much potential allowing you to play your favorites in Megaman X titles but it gave into the power fantasy
As things are if someone were to ask me is the offline version worth getting I'd tell them wait for a sale.
i'm buying it tomorrow. I liked playing the game when it was online, and now i can finally get the characters failed to get.
I think for megaman fans this game Might be a cool game for them but those who have no idea about megaman might not enjoy because in my opinion it’s one of those games that not anyone would enjoy playing it since it’s way different from games nowadays
Huh? What's the difference from the other Metroidvania (Dead Cells, Ori, Trine, Metroid Dread, Cuphead) nowadays?
is there a way to disable that X7 kind of auto aim?
so you only shoot horizontally like a normal X game and actually aim at stuff?
Yes. You can disable it in the settings. But I really wouldn't recommend it. The game plainly isn't designed for that.
Why did they have to shut off the original X dive? That’s bs
Good or not, this is how (all) mobile games should go for the sake of preservation. It's just sad how games like this run on a server, and just goes vaporware when that goes down. Future generations will have what they have, but they'll live life wondering if something was worth the time
But they need to have the idea how to do it
Because if this become norm there's always publishers afraid people will just wait the gacha game to expire and then release offline version.
And for gacha game players they can be bummed about the idea of buying the game again.
A better idea will be discount the gacha player depending on their progress or spend money then they will be in
does it have coop or pvp ?
Will someone mod this or not?
Can someone make remakes of the old games with this game?
My only complaint is the hefty pricetag. I can go as high as $15 which is my spend cap.
edit: bought it during the holiday sale and it was worth it.
Yeah, this is what I understood as well. Glad to have your post confirm what I looked into.
@@liteyearsx No problem
Great video! It was very informative!
Will they developers release updates? The online version is staying online indefinitely, so I’d think that the devs would update Offline, anyway.
They look like one of those generic robot anime girl figures that you order online.
is all the units from the thailand version included in offline? especially the collab ones like Devil May Cry Dante and Virgil?
Collab units aren't included.
@@liteyearsx oh thank you, I guess there is no need to get this game then without modding. still thanks
I wonder if mods can turn it into something neat?
The only thing i miss from the Mobil Global vertion is "Gore ICO" and dont like that the armor builder/workshop is not random in Offline as it is in Mobile vertion. It is okay , just only want to be able to use my X-box kontroler in the menus, that is mouse only. Edit: and probely never no new carakter or weapons, maby dlc one day.
Now I’m nostalgic for X Command Mission since you passingly mentioned it. Maybe I should play that instead.
Ngl I love Command Mission.
Thanks for the review!
got it for a while now. really fun. until you hit magma dragoon which is a massive skill check. you need to make sure you upgrade all your stuff.
unless u find out where the ride armour is :D
also marina that ninja chick is honestly the best all around char. mostly because u can only jump then either dash or jump. but with her u can double jump then double dash because of her ability.
and u get her fairly early on. and her 2nd is shurikens. which allow u to pause in midair. great for some bosses like penguin.
I play this game because I wanted to blast things up with Ciel 😂
I'll be honest. The original Free to Play version; I miss X Dive quite a bit; the nostalgia, the plot - & I'll say 1 of the BEST communities in a game, I've seen, everyone there is polite, helpful & discussing favorite moments in the Mega Man universe
But I don't miss the gatcha, micro transactions...
The shear grind - that I hate to admit, the day to day upkeep; which required your daily routine to get the most out of the game; miss a day, & you would find yourself potentially missing out on some good stuff, like the needed parts of a new Character, Weapon, etc - you basically had to give X Dive Online Version, your entire day, every day, & would feel like I'm enthralled to the game - & would cause a burn out - I can't even look at traditional Mega Man & MMX games the same way
But the NOSTALGIA OF IT ALL!!!
I mean; the thrill of FINALLY getting that 1 Character; & being like "OH...!! I remember that one!
It had the Double Charage Shot!"
Or
"X's 3rd Armor!! With the Cross Charge Shot, that filled the screen! & his Gold Armor!!"
Or
"Super Mega Man, from MM7!!
& BASS!?"
Or
"X~Kai!? The 4th X Hunter;
Meant for MMX2!?"
(Interesting lore there)
X Dive Online, was like the
Dragon Ball Xeno Verse of
Mega Man X / Rock Man X
Games, with an "everyone is here!" deal - that hooks you nostalgia, or that fix you long for
Neverwinter Online is like that too
Also, X Dive's Soundtrack;
The remixed covers of MMX
Boss songs, while fighting familiar foes, never gets old
I loved X Dive Online, it was fun;
& makes me want to get back into it; but I can't help but look past the parts that unfortunately, burnt me out - mainly, the pressure to play the game, day after day after day, all day every day, with no breaks, except when sleeping, eating, going out for a walk, etc
I love a game that gives me lots to do; but I like being able to take breaks from it, & play it on my terms, rather than feel like an obligation
From the looks & sounds of X Dive Offline Version, with the ability to play the game on your terms, unlock stuff naturally, as opposed to daily grinds, gatchas, microtransactions, etc... I'm considering giving it a charged up shot - after all; Mega Man is a game series I can't say no to, or anything similar (20XX, I strongly recommend)

Thaks for the review
I would say get it on sale and partake in the growing modding scene, full price with no mods I do not justify purchasing it.
Third Armor is pretty broken too. I found myself using it more than almost ANYTHING else in the game
And here I'm steaming roll everything with X ult armor
Personally I wasn't the biggest fan of x-dive, I mean it's still better than 99% of other gachas just not that great as a mega man game imo. I'm just glad it got released.
I hope every gacha game that shuts down has an offline version from now on.
Got it on sale for like 15 bucks. I remember the online version and quit because of the gacha
Playing ir makes me wish I was plauing a regular game. But on the other hand, is fun play as all the characters that aren't playable normally.
My major disconfort isnplaying it on Steam. It was cleary made with smartphones in mind, so usong a controler makes the simple gameplay much easier
Thanks for doing this, I was very curious about this game
Never played the Gatcha version so I don't have the perspective but man let me tell you the longer I play the more fun I'm having. I also saw the Modding commmunity are developing tools to start adding new characters and content so honestly I think we won.
Still rather sad we don't get the Monster Hunter/Devil May Cry/Street Fighter characters/costumes.
dive boss fight looked better then the actual game
i never played x dive before since i avoid gacha games so maybe it's a game for me? what do you guys think?
I never played the original one, Im having a blast with it.
Guys i have serious problem i have on app store megaman x dive offline and its for money and megaman x dive mobile --- for free .... can someone explain the diffrence ?
Is one a demo version?
Is not that bad , but is not worth the price.. capcom should develope Megaman Legends 3 instead
Watching you play this, I wouldn’t recommend it. I really like the style of the mega man x5 and 6. It’s nowhere near as good. And the music isn’t as good
No PvP? They could have added 3 vs 3, or 6 vs 6 team battles.
Or even capture the flag.
I slammed the checkout button as soon as i saw this
thanks for the review ❤ i never played the actual game but having this is cool so having it for the first time will make you play it perhaps till you beat the game or nuh. i can think of this game as a spare tire in which case you wanna go back to it to have some fun
I already bought it lol
I wish if the kept part of the collab characters ( all of them are from capcom anyway)
I'm kinda salty that they didn't do a release for consoles. Would have been a good throw
So if I wanted to beat this game as Vile, from the start to end............
I'm pretty sure you can unlock Vile almost immediately.
@@liteyearsx I actually did! And also Vile MK-2! I'm having a lotta fun, thanks to this review I did wind up giving it a shot. (x
I stayed away from this game just because it's a gacha game lol. I may pick this up someday. Companies should do this sort of thing for every gacha/live service game that gets shut down.
Honestly agreed. Game preservation is actually important as it shows how far we have gone in terms of technology.
I would have been willing to buy it if it didn't cost $30. Maybe once it gets a steep discount.
I'll buy it in a heart beat at half this price. Or at 20 if i'm in good mood.
Omg finally after Megaman X8
I got this game and was hoping for Gunvolt collab. But now I see... No one likes Gunvolt... I see you with that "even Gunvolt" at 7:57...
Nah I like Gunvolt 1, 2, and Ix 1. I think the rest are pretty mid.
@@liteyearsx Yeah just kidding lol, GV3 and iX 2 aren't that great. Definitely gonna play the rhythm game when it's out though.
You could spend way more than $30 in the still online gacha version in five minutes. Get the offline version.
