- Lots of people are on the edge about moving to Chiang Mai Thailand, do you have enough money to make it happen? In this video I show just what kind of night out you could have over 3 or 4 hours for just over $12, or 455 baht. Yes you can spend more, but you can still have a good time for not much money.

Hummus Chiang Mai isn't Vegan , it's vegetarian. They also serve egg. And there's nothing negative about vegan food. Vegan food is actually delicious and it's a lot better for your health and for the environment. Chiang Mai is full of mouth-watering vegan food like the restaurant called '' Vegan Heaven'' or ''Rad Rabbit's Pizzeria'. You should try some of it before making a judgment based on other people's popular opinion.
Loved that, Jon. Thanks!!!
Thanks mate!
Great video Jon, loved it mate.
Thanks Chris!
Great video Jon❤
Thanks mate!
Great video Jon
Thanks Bill!
Liked the interview you did in your last post, good stuff. Doing a good job mixing up with diff content.
Thanks mate, appreciate that!
thanks for keeping us informed!!...hope to be back in chiang mai next winter
Thanks
I really like your "new" content. Hope your Channel gets more Attention.
Thanks mate, appreciate that!
Walking around Chiang Mai is my favorite thing to do there else well!! Cheers, mate!
Yep, can't beat it!
Love Chiang Mai 😊
Yep an awesome city!
Nice Thanks! Looks to still be quite busy there on the Nim streets too. Your right too it is so nice at night. I use to live on ChangKlan & loved that area
Thanks Mike
Hommus Chiang Mai is incredible.. didn't realise it was fully vegan, actually. Was my go-to spot. Amazing falafal pita pockets.
👍
Great video Jon yes I have seen a pint of draught beer in chaing Mia 90 thai baht I can’t remember where do you have a place in mind
Thanks Robert, yeah lots of places you can get affordable drinks :)
Really good video . Im yet to venture out at night. Are there busier nights, or are week nights the same as the weekend? Cheers mate 👍
Thanks mate, yeah I’d say most nights are similar, maybe a bit busier at the weekend :)
Love the video mate. Could you tell me what area you would recommend a first timer to stay in chiang mai please?
Thanks! I'd go for Nimman area of around Thapae Gate for a first time :)
Personally, I'd have spent 55 THB on noodles at Kad Manee market - 890 on beer and walking and drinking - return to Kad Manee market and sign off with noodles, again. Simple.
Yep, those noodles were amazing for only 55 baht!
Looks great! Thanks for sharing. How would you rate the safety? Is it as safe as they say it is? Does it ever feel a bit sketchy at night?
I feel 100% safe walking around at night, never had any issues in 18 years. Just don't do anything silly :)
Im moving to Chiang Mai after spending 2yrs in Bangkok. I love it here in Bangkok, so CM has a lot to live up to
Cool! Yeah I love it here :)
Do you drink beer without ice? Cooling beer bottles costs money, so it is served at room temperature in a glass filled with large ice cubes. Charing 180 baht for a large bottle of beer is excessively expensive! Looks like some businesses are trying to recoup money lost during the lockdowns.
I usually have ice with beer here :)
Hummus… I use to eat a lot of it, and gyros too. I cut out both from my diet and lost almost 20 pounds. Hummus is all carbs, and oil, and sometimes sesame seed paste. If you’ve seen a Kardashian’s arse, you’ll know what I mean about the carbs.
Depends what oil they use, Olive Oil is healthy.
Haha yeah. Quite difficult to find here so I don’t have it often, but I could :)
Nice vlog. Thanks.
What is the name of that "dark" beer you were drinking and what country's it from, please?
Is it similar to a British "Bitter" or Pale Ale?
I can barely stand lager. Only drink the stuff out of necessity, when in SEAsia.
Carabao dark, actually from Thailand, it's pretty new, I like it :)
@@JonInChiangMai Thanks. Will deffo make a point of trying that out. Could be the answer I've been seeking for decades.
I hope they keep the weed laws as well. Maybe just tighten them up and make it a little stricter for public use. Blows my mind that they used to let them light up in the shop.
It’s never been for public use ,,it’s not for recreation use,,the law is for medical use,,the cops just don’t seem to worry though.
👍
At 180 baht I certainly hope you enjoyed that Leo! (and Leo beats Chang any day IMO too)
Yeah can't Leo, quite expensive for Chiang Mai!
Was there 2 months ago and obviously the smog is still around from the look of the hazy video. Don’t get me wrong been to Chiang Mai 6 times and love it
But the smog for months is unbearable
That hummus place looks good. However, my impressions of Chaing Mai are Pattaya is on another level for convenience but curious to find out myself
Yeah it’s a great restaurant! Pattaya is a very different kind of place :)
did you use to have another channel ? i think i seen a video of year a year or so back about how boring life in Issan was. or am i mistaken ? Thanks
I had another channel yeah but I never lived in Issan :)
@@JonInChiangMai Maybe not Issan but i’m sure you did a video about how boring it was where you was staying at the time. good to see your enjoying life in Thailand now. thinking of heading over from phuket but the smokes putting me off, how you finding it ?
Thanks, yeah I was talking about rural Chiang Mai, I've moved to the city now :) At the moment it's not great but it's not so bad, should be better in a few weeks.
@ORIGINOLINDIVIDUAL you're thinking of the interview with Thairish Times
That was a fun interview :) but I did have another channel as well youtube.com/@JonCanton
Vegan is NOT negative, it saves our planet! Beer (and cannabis) is vegan🤣
Saves the planet from what ?
Wrong. Tofu is one of the worst things produced for this planet
Carabao Dunkel is cheaper in Tops, the IPA is better that's 5.5%. Chang is down to 4.8% from over 6% a few years ago. I never buy Leo, tasteless.
Yeah the IPA is decent as well but I prefer the dark, reminds me a bit of beer also but not quite as good
I'm now at third beer, wondering is he really gonna use the whole 1000 baht budget to just beers😄
😁
I love your videos, I really do, but how come most British TH-camrs talk so fast? When you don't have English as your first language it's sometimes difficult to follow.
There's a channel called Vagabond Awake. He talks like reading from a script but if english is not your first language it might be good channel for you
Thanks mate, yeah a few people have said that, I keep thinking to slow down a bit but always forget :)
@@JonInChiangMai Well keep up your good work, that's more important than slow down on your speaking!
@@MikaelOlofsson-rt5lb 😁
How are you not sweating your ass off?
I was :)
Homesick..............................
Thanks mate!
Just go to 7/11 for that kind of boring night out
Haha depends what you like
