Ridiculously good. I just pulled two frets with one of these pullers that I made. No heat and no chips in a factory Fender rosewood fingerboard. The frets were unmolested and I put them right back in. When I get ready to regret this one I’ll use heat but, wow, this is a cool tool.
Robert this vid is all fine and good ( I LOVE the sidecutters idea, and may make a set) but how about doing a vid of fixing chip out? I have close to 100 cowboy and full refrets under my belt at this point, but still struggle sometimes with incredibly dried out ebony badly chipping out. What do you do to fix it?
Hi Great advice, How did you flatten the cutters? I was thinking about using a bench grinder to flatten them but that would leave a 'rounded' grind. It occurred to me that an angle grinder might make the cutters flat underneath. Could you clarify that please? Your videos are excellent. Thanks.
I got that apron more than 12 years ago and it finally wore out last year. So, I tried to find the same apron and couldn't I ended up buying another brand that is not quite as good but works.
Hi. I've got a newish guitar with stainless steel frets but one of them at the 21st fret has lifted about half a mm all I want to do is lift it out and reset it back in with glue without any damage as the guitar is only 3 months old. Would I be able to get the fret out without damaging the fret and the fret board to re set it back in? It's the only one which is a little high seems like it's not been set in properly I've tried pressing it in but it just pops back up again and it's only the side that's on the high E if that makes sense. Any advice would be much appreciated
You don't need to mask it. The tape would just get in the way. I've found that a smaller version of the first tool he used to be the best, and will not harm a fret board at all.

Kerry, The fix I use is CA glue or epoxy dyed black and perhaps some ebony dust. You will probably have to re-slot the board where you do the fix.
That's a hell of an idea,thanks sir
Great tip. Thanks for sharing!
Great tool.

Rob-checking out your apron, where was it purchased from? I like the neck device for shavings... Thanks

Instead of removing it, try pressing it down and gluing it in place.
good stuff although I thing I would have masked off the fretboard. Thank for your video.
