  • In part 15 of this Mercedes Minibus camper van conversion, I fit a brand new 10 litre Truma Ultrastore hot water heater in the rear of the minibus campervan conversion (See links below for items used). The Truma Ultra Store 10l hot water heater is fitted by cutting a hole in the side of the vehicle for the combustion cowel to be fitted to ensure all gases are exhausted from the vehicle properly. The Truma Ultrastore 10l hot water heater has the controls for both electric and gas water heating and the controls are mounted at the rear of the vehicle, located close to the Truma Ultra store water heater. The gas and electric lines are fed to the Truma hot water heater and will be connected up when the rest of the electrics and gas are installed.

    Hi! does the truma b10 comes with the water valves and connectors for the boiler? The 3-piece? Here in the netherlands i have to order it seperatly, but its different from yours in the video. Ours isnt with a click in connecter like it seems to be in your video.
    Can you just insert the 12mm pipe in the truma connector on the boiler? And if so, do you if if i can order these 3-piece connectors seperatly somehwere?

    Hi there I’m installing a Trina bge-10 it has a 12 volt connection what would be the fuse rating and and a 240 volt connection what would be the amperage required for circuit breaker on my consumer unit? Thanks

    • @TheCampervanBuilder
      @TheCampervanBuilder  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      12v is just the igniter so small fuse, I think 6a trio rcd is enough for 240, but not 100% sure, it was a while ago

    Nice install but personally I would have routed that gas pipe flush down the back wall and then flush across the floor secured with p-clips rather than have it exiting the hole in a big sweeping curve. When the bus is in use people will be throwing all manner of things under the bed and rummaging around trying to retrieve things. As it stands that pipe could easily become detached.

    • @TheCampervanBuilder
      @TheCampervanBuilder  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The pipe cannot become detached as its secured to the heater with compression fitting and the entire heater will be boxed in so the area won't be in use for storage

    Did you use the gas connector nut that cam with the boiler? It mentions olives in the instructions but no olive is supplied. I was considering an 8mm gas hose with threaded connector.

    The two cables that come out of the heater, what do they attach too..I know one is to connect directly to 240 consumer unit but what is the the other one attached too. I've got 2 control panels one which is self explanatory and plugs straight in the other is open wires?

    • @TheCampervanBuilder
      @TheCampervanBuilder  ปีที่แล้ว

      one is 240v, the other is 12v for the igniter

      @@TheCampervanBuilder I thought that 12v power supply connected to the built in wago type connection on the unit. I watched other video where the cable from the unit had a connector plug on it and it looked as if it went to one of the control panels? I thought I had worked it out but cannot get my head round it

    Hi Thank you for the video. For the gas connection did you have an insert which goes within the pipe which the outside collar squashes the pipe onto to make the seal? Thank you.

    Whats the size of the compression nut on the gas connection of the boiler? Mine is missing and the 8mm fitting ones seem too small and dont screw on....

    • @TheCampervanBuilder
      @TheCampervanBuilder  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it is 8mm but maybe slightly deeper than a standard compression from screwfix etc, probably just to make you buy their own

      @@TheCampervanBuilder Thanks for the reply, I ordered one on ebay, lets hope it fits, but couldnt find any specific Truma spare part that talks about it being different, but it deffinately doesnt take standard 8mm compression nuts, I started to peel the thread of when I forced it on..

    Hi. Might I suggest some form of mesh on the dropout hole, as it looks big enough to allow rodents in.

    • @TheCampervanBuilder
      @TheCampervanBuilder  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      the 12v is just for the timer and igniter so nothing large, I buy a long reel of 11a cable and use that for most items other than heavy draw appliances
