    Girl the crunch is the best part. Take some black castor oil and a blowdryer and stretch it. That hard cast let’s you know it’s gonna last a long time lol

    This is the SAME response my hair had to the bee girl custard and mousse. My hair was like straw and although I like a hold crunch to the point of “ oh my gosh I might break hair strands was a no.
    I am glad you salvaged it but I feel a deep moisturizing leave in is needed under these products because they are so drying.
    And I tried your hack of using the small rubber bands at the base of flat twist and gurl , game changer, my hair is cute!

      I was sooo disappointed! I can’t wait to rewash it because it doesn’t feel good at all lol. But, I was able to finesse it for a couple of days!
      I’m so glad it worked! It will keep those flat twists in place lol 💕

    I never use both foam and custard in that brand. Custard only and foam for maintenance and edges. I love your content. I have learned so much.

    Love the final results of your hair. I have used both products recently with similar results. I now use the honey hydrate leave in by Camille Rose for a softer less crunchy hold. My hair usually lasts two days less than normal with the leave in though. Also I learned that applying the Doux Bonita Afro Balm texture cream will also soften the cast as well. I normally use that as a styler on top of my hair. I do love the crunch though because my hair is very thick and tends to frizz very easy without a product that gives it a firm hold. I will continue to purchase both products because I love the final results. Thank you again for you helpful content.

    I HAD THE SAME RESULTS! I saw so many people talk about how it gave them a fluffy wash and go so I was a lil excited but that combo puts a death grip on the hair, like this was a harder hold than any other gel and mousse I’ve used

    • @StarringLia

    I had the same problem with the Custard. I paired it with the Mousse Def thinking that would be adequate moisture. Big mistake. It was so dang hard and crunchy that it hurt! Now I use a super moisturizing cream styler as a leave-in and it worked perfectly. The hold was perfect and my wash and style lasted 10 days. Your hair was so cute though.

    With the doux bee girl custard you have to watch how much you use because it has hold, you only need a little bit, but if you like a crunch you will like it, it will eventually go away over time, I like it just not by itself but I like a crunch because I know my hair is going to last through out the week if I use it again I will try it with a leave in.

    • @StarringLia
      @StarringLia  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Does anyone know a good leave in or moisturizer that pairs well with this gel? The ones I’ve tried create small white balls when when paired.
    I’ve tried Uncle Funky’s Daughter botanical gel, Kinky Curl Knot Today, and Design Essentials Avocado Almond detangling leave in.
    I’ve only had luck with Aphogee’s pro vitamin spray leave in, but I need a stronger moisturizer with this custard.
