BTS always tries their best to study english & other languages whenever they had time ever since they got big Globally to communicate with armys. And yes they still have an accent but thats ok. What's more shocking is that they practiced really hard to sing this song in english so fluently. They worked so hard, respect.👏👏💜💜💜

This reaction was perfection. When we were going through our streaming spree, you could notice new things every time. They also had two instances of the Beatles in the Crosswalk in JK's room (on the door and on the back wall), and Bowie, Rocky, and Terminator posters, but totally a MJ vibe.
Either than Namjoon (RM) , they aren't fluent though they have been progressing lately, especially V and Jungkook. Suga has always had the vocabulary and can understand English in interviews but he usually uses Korean to answer, probably because he wants his answers to be in depth and nuanced (he's very particular about his words choice). I think they have enough English to sing in English, and to understand interviews, but they're not comfortable or fluent enough to convey what they want through speaking.
I love it when Yoongi just answers english interviews in his own language. Because his thoughts are always deep, honest and raw. Sometimes the nuances may be lost in translation. i just love him for being himself, comfortably expressing his thoughts in Korean. Infires me a lot!💜

I agree with everything everyone else is saying and Tae is defo coming to wreck every armys bias and bias wreckers lists especially with that smile at the end, also my Jiminie i still cant get over him and that ‘finger bang’ he does he owns it, also the way he looks into the camera and stares into your soul and heart. Also ther dancing and vocals (especially the raplines as i wasnt expecting them to not rap at all) and attitude they give off is just perfect. JK has done a long list of English covers which sounded better than the original. Has also performed "We Don't Talk Anymore", with Charlie Puth on live stage. JK & Jimin have their own recording of We Don't Talk Anymore. JK recorded "Waste It On me" for Steve Aoki. JK and Jimin are both featured in Lauv's "WHO". Tae has recorded covers in English & his solo "Sweet Night" is 100% in English. Not coincidentally that these 3 have the most lines in this song, they have the most experience singing in English. Suga and Jhope will not be able to rap in English. Rap require expert mastery in the language. Hence their parts are more singing not rapping.

LOVE your ending comments about how they’re just BTS and they don’t stick to one genre. Everything you said is right on point. Really the genre is BTS. I love that they have such a wide range in their music & are constantly trying something new with their music. They have something for everyone and they’re always ahead of the game and come out with something that sounds a little different than what everyone is currently putting out. But even with the new genres they try they’ve found a way to put their own BTS sound on it and still make it them. Thank you for noticing that. bts are the most versatile artists to ever exists and yes they always comeback newer than new. they don't just stick with what they are good at or in their comfortable zone. they always try and explore new things and they're not afraid to take risks.
I'm still baby Army, but RM is fluent, but Suga, Jungkook, and Jimin have pretty good listening comprehension. In interviews, especially older ones, you'll see Suga answer things in Korean before a translator can translate it, so he can understand it, but he's not super comfortable speaking it. JK is studying, so he is probably the 2nd best, but not fluent. Jimin seems to understand quite a bit as well, and can answer fairly quickly, though again, not fluent. V and Jin are probably the weakest with English. Jhope can say a few things. I think this is correct :)
The background vocals are mostly done by Jungkook and Jimin. As for fluently speaking English, Rm is definitely! Second is Jungkook he studied really hard to communicate with fans. Then you have J-Hope, V and Jimin. You may have noticed that Suga and Jin have the least lines in this song. That is because they don’t have as much confidence or are more shy to speak the language! They try so hard but for some people it comes more natural. But they definitely did study the lines for this song! There are not real difficult words to pronounce in the song so they did a real good job! I’m a proud Army!!! ♥️

RM is still the only one who is fluent, but Suga understands surprisingly good and can build sentences but he’s a bit shy and uncomfortable so he usually answers in Korean. J-Hope is basically the other way, he can misunderstand the question but is always willing to try his best to form sentences in english. I feel like JK tho has the best pronounciation. And as a sidemote, it’s easier to hide your accent when singing than rapping. I believe that’s why Suga and J-Hope are sing-rapping to hide the accent as much as possible, for example it’s hard to tell if the singer has a british accent when singing but in rap, the accent comes through a lot clearer.

The only person in BTS that is fluent in English is RM. However, that doesn’t mean that the other members can’t speak a little English too. Regarding the comment about how it doesn’t sound like they have an accent, I personally think (after watching them sing covers of English songs) that their accent sort of goes away when they sing English bc the words are being sung not spoken. A comparison that comes to mind for me is like imagine playing just one key on a piano repeatedly, obviously it doesn’t sound smooth but when you hold the key down it flows better. It’s the same for them speaking English vs. singing it. When they sing it, it flows better...(Idk if that makes sense, sry😅) Also, they always give their all to their music so I’m 100% sure they practiced A LOT for this song. (P.S. I love your guys’ videos😊💜)

No, they are not all fluent. Their English skills vary person to person. But they've been saying that they've been practicing more recently. Probably part of their motivation was for this song and all the press they had to do for it..

They did an amazing job again with this one. I'm not big on pop songs but BTS knows how to make them so damn catchy. I've been playing this on repeat🙈. Also when you sing you don't really need to be fluent or understand the language as long as you know the lyrics and their pronunciation. As for the accent some people just lose it when they sing (i remember my russian music professor who had a strong accent would lose hers when singing). They probably put a lot of effort in practicing they pronunciation really hard. And as you see hard work pay off💜💜💜

not all members are fluent in English, but Taehyung, Jungkook, and Hoseok have been studying really hard. Jimin, Seokjin, and Yoongi also probably study too, but they all know some English to get them by in the States and other native English countires. Namjoon has known for a long time, but even he has issues for being fluent, we stan a king who has faults but the best king there is. EDIT: The funny thing about singing is its sometimes hard to hear an accent, because its completely different from talking, but sometimes it is still there.

Other than the iconic MJ dance moves BTS did there’s also a part in the lyrics that pays homage to MJ when Taehyung (V) sings “just move like we off the wall”. LOVE your ending comments about how they’re just BTS and they don’t stick to one genre. Everything you said is right on point. Really the genre is BTS. I love that they have such a wide range in their music & are constantly trying something new with their music. They have something for everyone and they’re always ahead of the game and come out with something that sounds a little different than what everyone is currently putting out. But even with the new genres they try they’ve found a way to put their own BTS sound on it and still make it them. Thank you for noticing that. I think you guys are the only reactors I’ve seen that have commented on their range and diverse music catalogue. Also they have a new album coming out sometime later this year, possibly in October. They have a b-side MV for dynamite that came out & an their first performance for dynamite at the VMAs on 8/30 so keep an eye out for all of that too!
bts are the most versatile artists to ever exists and yes they always comeback newer than new. they don't just stick with what they are good at or in their comfortable zone. they always try and explore new things and they're not afraid to take risks.

RM is fluent, but Suga, Jungkook, and Jimin have pretty good listening comprehension. In interviews, especially older ones, you'll see Suga answer things in Korean before a translator can translate it, so he can understand it, but he's not super comfortable speaking it. JK is studying, so he is probably the 2nd best, but not fluent. Jimin seems to understand quite a bit as well, and can answer fairly quickly, though again, not fluent. V and Jin are probably the weakest with English. Jhope can say a few things.

As for fluently speaking English, Rm is definitely! Second is Jungkook he studied really hard to communicate with fans. Then you have J-Hope, V and Jimin. You may have noticed that Suga and Jin have the least lines in this song. That is because they don’t have as much confidence or are more shy to speak the language! They try so hard but for some people it comes more natural. But they definitely did study the lines for this song! There are not real difficult words to pronounce in the song so they did a real good job! I’m a proud Army!!! ♥️

RM is still the only one who is fluent, but Suga understands surprisingly good and can build sentences but he’s a bit shy and uncomfortable so he usually answers in Korean.
J-Hope is basically the other way, he can misunderstand the question but is always willing to try his best to form sentences in english. I feel like JK tho has the best pronounciation.
And as a sidemote, it’s easier to hide your accent when singing than rapping. I believe that’s why Suga and J-Hope are sing-rapping to hide the accent as much as possible, for example it’s hard to tell if the singer has a british accent when singing but in rap, the accent comes through a lot clearer.

The only person in BTS that is fluent in English is RM. However, that doesn’t mean that the other members can’t speak a little English too. Regarding the comment about how it doesn’t sound like they have an accent, I personally think (after watching them sing covers of English songs) that their accent sort of goes away when they sing English bc the words are being sung not spoken. A comparison that comes to mind for me is like imagine playing just one key on a piano repeatedly, obviously it doesn’t sound smooth but when you hold the key down it flows better. It’s the same for them speaking English vs. singing it. When they sing it, it flows better...(Idk if that makes sense, sry😅)
Also, they always give their all to their music so I’m 100% sure they practiced A LOT for this song.

No, they are not all fluent. Their English skills vary person to person. But they've been saying that they've been practicing more recently. Probably part of their motivation was for this song and all the press they had to do for it..

Also when you sing you don't really need to be fluent or understand the language as long as you know the lyrics and their pronunciation. As for the accent some people just lose it when they sing (i remember my russian music professor who had a strong accent would lose hers when singing).
They probably put a lot of effort in practicing they pronunciation really hard. And as you see hard work pay off💜💜💜

not all members are fluent in English, but Taehyung, Jungkook, and Hoseok have been studying really hard. Jimin, Seokjin, and Yoongi also probably study too, but they all know some English to get them by in the States and other native English countires.
Namjoon has known for a long time, but even he has issues for being fluent, we stan a king who has faults but the best king there is.
EDIT: The funny thing about singing is its sometimes hard to hear an accent, because its completely different from talking, but sometimes it is still there.

Michael Jackson’s nephew saw the teaser and gave BTS a shoutout on twitter for paying homage to his uncle and ever since the music video came out has been hyping it and saying the nicest things to BTS it’s so wholesome. Other than the iconic MJ dance moves BTS did there’s also a part in the lyrics that pays homage to MJ when Taehyung (V) sings “just move like we off the wall”. Off The Wall was MJ’s breakout solo album and it was a disco album and one of the major disco records that influenced the growth of the genre over the years.
