In honesty, I don't even think I'd have ever picked up a set of darts at any point if it hadn't been for Eric. Legendary fella.

I hope all those people there tonight paying respect to Eric could ease the pain for his family. I know it's been a allmost a year, but he was a legend.
I was shocked to hear of Eric's passing this morning, although I never met him in person, he will always be a dart role model to myself and so many others! I can only hope that when it's my turn to "checkout", that someone will remember me, and my life, with as much fondness & admiration, as so many of us remember him. I will raise my glass high today, and salute a true champion, although you never knew me personally, I miss you sorely already Eric. Your spirit is eternally engraved within this sport I love so much, & you will never be forgotten here.
I love the darts, Bristow is a legend. The episodes he appeared on Bulleyes for charity, I’d be excited all day. Great days! But sadly for me Darts has been ruined by the audience getting as loud as they do now. There’s always been a booze vibe and there should be, it’s a pub sport and one I love and grew up on but it seems to overbear the game now, It just seems to be all about the piss-up. Half of them didn’t even have the respect to shut up when Keith Deller started speaking. RIP Eric, years of entertainment watching you when I was growing up, what a huge loss at too young an age.

I am sorry, but I met Eric back in 2011 he was knocked out in the first round to a local player. The main concern was the free booze that Bristow could drink, he was scoring bed and breakfast for most of the games, I actually called him a drunken bum, to which he took rather well. It was the booze that killed him in the end. Once a legend, then in later years just a drunk.
