It’s because it’s Esfandiari. They’ve played against each other for like 15 years now. Phil has seen Esfandiari do crazy stuff. He’s completely capable of doing this exact thing with 10 4 off or 7 2 to try and troll Phil on tv

I kind of get it, though. When you feel like you're getting run over every single hand... And of course, you do run into a monster when you finally make a "hero call" lol

@ if this is anyone other than Antonio…phil snaps folds the flop. As I said in my comment they have like 15+ years of history. Esfandiari is known for playing wild and the Ace on the River is like THE perfect bluff card to rep. Phil wanted to look like a genius

OK, I don't know why I watched this since I don't really play poker. But the flop had two cards over Phil's 9's. Which meant that even if the other guy didn't have any pairs (which he did), he could have had a J or Q to match the board and still beat Phil. I don't get Phil's strategy.

I don't know what you all are talking about, I would have played this hand exactly the way Phil did.....did I mention I live under the overpass down by the train tracks?

Negraneau would have hit trip 9s on the river.

Could easily had 9 10 suited or K 10 suited and Antonio still bets. May be worse than call.

By far the worst call ever, not only on River but on Turn as well.
