I wanted to buy it too. But I bought a Kawasaki Ninja 500. The Kawasaki has more torque. lower consumption, lower weight, service intervals almost half as long. Kawasaki warranty 4 years. reliability and quality at Kawasaki is great. sitting at Kawasaki is great. I can drive 600 km a day on it without any problems. I did over 5000 km on my Kawasaki in 3 months. never any wrist or neck or back pain. Kawasaki also great for kneedown. even if the parameters are not top-notch like an ordinary telescope or 2 piston brakes, it works very well. when buying a motorcycle, the price did not make a difference. even if the Kawasaki is cheaper. it was not the reason. I live in Europe, I have a license for all motorbikes. Italy machines are perhaps the image of speed and sportiness. reliability and no failure rate certainly not.

I wish Aprilia made a 900cc 4 cylinder sportbike with ~150hp, kinda in between the rs660 and the rsv4, that would be the ultimate sweetspot. Btw, I ordered the RS660 in Acid Gold 2 months ago, still waiting, and now they tell me Aprilia may be discontinuing the gold color and I might have to cancel the order lol.
Yeah I'll take a RS 860-something with 150ph. I figured "8" because it's better in between the 600 and 1100 and it will probably compete with the Suzuki GSX-8 and the rumored R8 from Yamaha.
a 4 cylinder would be too boring for an aprilia. but if they made a 800cc V4 like a baby V4 with 140 hp ish i would instatly get it. But sadly 4 cylinder bikes are falling out of popularity due to missions. Aprilia did make an inline 3 engine for racing with the worulds first pneumatic valves called the cube engine
Watch out while braking. It has a really bad ABS system in combination with shitty tires. If you are not careful the ABS takes away all your braking power when you need it. Some european bike journalists nearly crashed because of it. Not exactly good on a bike thats targeting a beginner audience if you ask me.
A2 sucks for us in the US! 2/3 the displacement of the RS660 should at least have 2/3 the HP but we loose that extra 20HP (potential) because of European regulations. At lease Kawasaki and CFMoto give the US slightly more powerful versions in this class but there again if CFMoto can make a 94bph triple a 65ish HP 450SS seems doable. If the relative expensive for its size Kawasaki ZX4RR has been a sales success I see no reason a slightly less powerful twin that would offer a very significant weight and price reduction wouldn't be just as successful (for Aprilia too).
I would love to see this compared to an R3 and see which one offers a better bang for buck. I know it's preference at the end of the day. Which one would be more approachable to new riders?

This is just like Benelli, KTM, and Harley Davidson. All design and R&D done in Italy at the Benelli Design Studio. Harley Davison has the Baby Harley's designed for the Asian market. Then those designs sent off to QJMotors in China to be built to their level of quality. You yourself pointed this out in the video about Chinese bikes kinda suck. KTM does the same thing with the design and R&D of 790 being done in Austria then sent off to be built in the spring of 2023 to their quality standards by CFMoto. One good thing that come out of that move was the end of the Austrian KTM VIN# cheese cams. So far reports are if you have a 2023 Austrian VIN# 790 still possibility of cheese cam if there were any leftover 2022's titled as 2023s. If you have a KTM 790 with a Chinese VIN# or a CFMoto 800NK no cheese cams issues to date. Now Aprilia does the same thing. Design and R&D being done in Italy then sends those off to Piaggio's Vespa scooter plant in Baramati, India to be built to Aprilia's quality standards. I don't see anything different here. All design and R&D from the world headquarters then farmed out to a partnership manufacturer in another country. What the different is the hypocrisy in the dialogue towards the Chinese manufacturers for reliability or accomplishments. QJMotors has a 6.6 million sq.ft facility. Last year they made 1.2 million units and over 2. million motors. CFMoto's facitity is just over 3 million sq.ft. And they are in fifth place in Moto2 and first place in Moto3 World Championship. Since you like racing so much I can't quite see how you would not mention that at some point. Your rebuttal I suppose you could say you don't fallow Moto2 & 3. Since they don't make a liter bike, they can't compete in MotoGP and you don't pay them any mind. I am not the only one pointing out your turnaround. But this Aprillia 457RS is the shit a of a sudden. Where is the reliability, Vespa scooter factory build, first year for this engine, consumer beware this isn't a trusted platform yet type comments you were so happy roasting the Chinese bikes with.
