    Nice video. To those complaining about how expensive it is, I believe that is Tayo's point exactly. The prices are ridiculous yet these businesses are being patronized. Imagine how well you could be doing if you invested as well. You could make your annual land lease cost in one night's stay :-) Not bad at all. Keep your construction cost at a minimal and make up for it with fixtures and finishes. I already have an idea and will do my research.

    Everything seems to be over-priced in Nigeria. I mean for what you get it is ridiculous. I wanted to visit my partner in Benin City, but decided to have him come over here instead because hotels are just too pricey but offer no value. The only one that seemed worth staying at was Protea Hotel.

    • @normantshokotshela5290
      @normantshokotshela5290 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      My sentiments exactly.
      These prices are discouraging tourism, when you receive sustainable income because of good affordable service. Word of mouth will sell the business.
      They can start projecting the business by allowing people to book online, this will show how the business is going to make money through the web site bookings.
      Based on what I see, I do't think the businesses are making as much as they wish to make.
      From 5:12 to 6:00 THE VIDEO says it all, the first impression doesn't sell you this place.
      Like I said previously in this video, there is still a lot of opportunities to invest but those who own land must open up those opportunities by partnering with those who have financial power to invest.

    • @themark7948
      @themark7948 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree with you on price vs. value but you shouldn't look at it only from the perspective of a patron but also from that of an investor and how you could also be profiting from the industry. The more investors there are, the lower the prices and more value investors will put into the properties. Of course, most people will never have the money to invest and that's a fact.

    I really wish we fully utilised the resources we have in Nigeria. Travel and tourism is such a great industry to capitalise on in any country and very effective in the Caribbean. We could really bring so much money to Nigeria through tourism especially if we developed and invested in our beaches. This is definitely worth looking into especially as someone who really wants to move back to Nigeria.

      THIS👏🏾 the Nigerian goverment has only invested in Abuja tourism 🙄 they’d other that many other places around nigeria have a HUGE tourist opportunities, especially the east since the east has a lot of trees and rivers/sea’s, they could get some animals and make hotels like cape verde

    • @deaafn814
      @deaafn814 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      But that's the point. Some goods are meant to be ostentatious to give consumers of same a feeling of elevation. They are luxury goods for that reason. Diamonds, private jets, private islands, whatever, the owners of these items get their satisfaction from their exclusivity. Such is life.

    • @moshood1balogun

      @Dea Afn defo agree with you on the definition of luxury and fortunately I am able to access and appreciate some of the good things in life with what I will call my middle class jand side and professional hustle...the value you get in these enclaves in Nigeria is retardedly extortionate for what is no where near luxury class. I've done Aburi Hills, Aqua Safari and Royal Senchi in next door Ghana and the requirements for luxury are maintained and value for money is equally sound....Same way I've done Games Reserves in SA, staycations at Muizenberg, knysna and done west coast beach staycation in Barbados and one is paying same price or more to be in Ilashę🤨😒.... as in are you kidding me!!?!! The projected profit margins in these places in Nigeria has to be taken with a pinch of salt!

      Im from the Caribbean as well. I find we have the same thing going on though. People pay really high prices for things that seem normal in richer countries because there is a supply demand issue. People also pay for safety. I understand how the prices got there and see the same in the Caribbean. You have tiny basic studio type houses for 300 and 400 usd per night, while many cant even make that in a month.

    Ilashe is a growing market for we tourist. It was a nice place to refresh and had fun. Have been there several times and hopefully dis December won't escape.
    But truth be told, those guest houses were overpriced.
