I was fully mystified during the whole video, I cannot imagine being as talented as you are Freida, it really is a rare treat to watch the process up until the finish. I love that in the beginning there is nothing, and then at the end there is this absolutely STUNNING dress and it all came from inside your head, THANK YOU for inviting us....
beautiful meditative process watching you culminating in parading your exquisite creation so stunning You are a Goddess of the scissors & thread I bow before you Frieda in awe and amazement
I always thought that asmr isn't for me, because the one's if heard of/seen so far always ended up doing the opposite and triggering my Misphonia. But this? Gives me the good shivers and happy chemicals. So: Danke!
Just what I needed on a Friday afternoon. It's always so satisfying to watch someone so talented create something gorgeous like this. Thank you Frieda!
A long silent and relaxing sewing video is the perfect format to help me focus at work, thank you for putting your footage to excellent use. And what a gorgeous dress! You must have been freezing shooting the reveal
Your work is soooo beautiful❤. I watched your videos while working at home and then decided it was break time! It put me in such a good mood to watch you work with such passion and precision. Cheers!!!!
Your creations are so expressive and beautiful! I love watching you do magic with your patterns and then bring them to life! ❤ Wishing you happiness and health, Audri
I've watched the beginning three times and still have no idea what you were doing or why. You could do a second video with the same footage explaining what is happening. Still quite soothing though. I have used this to fall asleep twice already :)
I’m definitely considering doing those videos without music in the future - but the first videos I made where without a microphone and I couldn’t edit it good enough to work without music :/
I love everything about you and your channel! It's such a pleasure to watch and always allows me some alone time to sit, wind down and enjoy your work. Thank you for sharing your talents and process with us, again 💙 Do you use vellum paper for your final patterns? I've been thinking about using it myself due to its durability and transparency instead of alpha-numeric paper for tracing my patterns. I love what you have and wondering what exactly it is if you don't mind?
Thank you for your videos. Yor are expert, but you keep going slow, so... why me, who am not expert at all, want to rush? This thought push me to go slower and pay more attention to what I'm doing. I remain not-expert, but my work has improved (with the same amount of time). 😊
sewing on black fabric is like, it hides your mistakes, but also you can't see what you're sewing and you will feel super dizzy trying to see the thread in the fabric. If you want to take out the thread forget it
I need to know more about the pattern you used underneath. What is it printed on, paper? plastic? Vellum? Do you overlap pattern pieces to save paper? How do you store them? Details, I need details!
It depends on why I do the mockup - if it’s just for the fit I am always using this fabric (only exception is when it’s a stretchy fabric). If I want to drape something for example I try to find a cheap version of the fabric I will use in the end :)
After the original number of layers was established...why not use clamps around the perimeter then machine a few basting lines vertically to keep the Tulle from shifting....then pin the pattern and machine baste around the edges of all the pattern pieces then cut ✂️ them out?
I always feel like I have more control with handbasting because I only have it on my cutting table and don’t have to move it. Aaand - I just really enjoy the process 😂 I know it takes longer, but in the end I think it’s about enjoying the way and not rushing to the end:)
Hi Frieda! I have an idea for a creation theme. If possible could you create a dress based on China’s Han dresses? I was writing a story and I realized how I could not come up with an idea of a flowing gown based on ancient china lady’s embroidery dresses. So I thought it might be a good theme since I can’t find a video for one. Something that isn’t a qipao.
Hey! I do like your idea a lot, but to be honest I think I know way too little about chinas fashion history to make something like that. I don’t think I would do it justice with my knowledge at this point!
Yes it is! I started a new series that’s more a sew along - starting with all of the material from older videos. The next video (coming in two weeks) is a new dress and a normal narrated video again :)
I actually explain it in the narrated version - the dress is inspired by what is usually inside of the dress - the boned part that gives the dress its shape. Which sometimes is called the skeleton of a dress … So it’s meant in the anatomical way basically and not in a macabre way :)
It’s only your opinion that makes it “appear” macabre-to the sewer-she can call it or describe it however she wishes, your interpretation only fulfills a bias of your thinking… Maybe you might try being more “open” when ppl are expressing their art/craft in their own personal way…Just a thought to consider~🙏🌞
I've had a really crap day then I saw your video pop up so I'm going to make a coffee and sit and enjoy watching you thank you
A beautiful master piece😊
watching you create this gown is such a precise way is not only very satisfying but really relaxing as well. thank you

If I was a witch, this is what I would wear every day. Easily my favorite of your designs, Top Tier!
Before watching I wanted to say you helped me overcome the anxiety I had about trying to work with tulle :) I love your work and your videos ^^
Tule is not an easy material to work with. I admire your craftsmanship. Glad I stumbled across your video.

Awesome. Thank you
Ich habe sogar the golden girls gestoppt um dein Video anzuschauen. ❤
Love your work. So nice to relax to. No music would be Moore soothing though.

Excelente trabajo! Mi única duda es si haces el patrón en papel antes de hacer el tual?

Exquisite
Beautiful work! What do you do with the finished project? Do you keep them, sell them, wear them?
wow.
can you show us how u made the first mock up pattern, I really like the style of it but don't know where to start
❤❤❤
I need to know more about the pattern you used underneath. What is it printed on, paper? plastic? Vellum? Do you overlap pattern pieces to save paper? How do you store them? Details, I need details!
Do you always use the same fabric for mock ups or do you change it to match the weight and fluidity of the final fabric or is it irrelevant?
It depends on why I do the mockup - if it’s just for the fit I am always using this fabric (only exception is when it’s a stretchy fabric).
If I want to drape something for example I try to find a cheap version of the fabric I will use in the end :)

What’s this measuring tape ? 😱😍Is it ready made or you punched those holes by yourself ? If it’s ready made, where I can get it ,I’m in love with it
It’s called a “taillenmassband” I guess the translation would be waist measuring tape 🤔 the company I got it from is called schlemming
@@friedalepold thanks 🙏

i didnt know you can sew straight through rigilene boning?!
Is this not the same as the Tulle Skelton Witch Dress? The one you made about a year ago?
Yes it is! I started a new series that’s more a sew along - starting with all of the material from older videos. The next video (coming in two weeks) is a new dress and a normal narrated video again :)
Thank you for explaining! I was not sure! But, you do beautiful work.
Wedding? 😁
Why is the word *skeleton" used to describe the dress though ??? It's quite macabre to use that word in combination with dress. 😨😨🤔🤔
I actually explain it in the narrated version - the dress is inspired by what is usually inside of the dress - the boned part that gives the dress its shape. Which sometimes is called the skeleton of a dress … So it’s meant in the anatomical way basically and not in a macabre way :)
