    I just wanted to mention to you that your parts tractor is actually worth fixing it is the side distributor model which means it has an inner axle seal so you’re diff oil can’t seep through the hub and the axle and saturate your brake shoes , it has upgraded steering box, an upgraded generator,adjustable valve lifters,a engine oil pump upgrade and other upgrades. One thing I was hoping you would do is put the pto shaft in the old pump that you rebuilt and just see if it was acting as it should while turning but you can still do that and perhaps it is a simple fix but I can’t figure out why anyone would put a 9N/2N pump on an 8N but anyway I bet your happy you have a parts tractor! Keep that old iron running!

    Autoparts stores have rolls of gasket paper cut your own gaskets.

    the problem is your oil is too thin
    ford n series tractor use 80w90 weight gear oil in the trans as that also lubes the differential

      That’s a good point, Chuck.. I’m going to try that with my next flush.

    Even your parts tractor has hat style rims. I have been trying to find one rim for a while now. Interesting that someone put 9n/2n hydraulics in your 8n. At least you will have position control now.

    Great video! I'm about to tackle my 8n as well. Hopefully with a little less of an environmental impact lol!

    Great job, it did look like you original pump might have been from a 9N, that's what I have. Enjoyed your effort and good attitude. I had a good laugh when it worked to see how excited you were! thanks for sharing!

    I live in northwest Oklahoma. I no what you mean about the stickers . Can’t do anything without getting stickers all over you. I have a 1952 8n use it quite a bit in summer. Won’t start in winter unless I have it in shop with heat lamp on it.

    I was rooting for you all the way! Great job! Now that you've been using it, how well did the liquid gasket substitute work out on the top cover?

    • @MrJustinWheeler
      @MrJustinWheeler  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, Mike! I think the liquid gasket worked "okay", but the lift does lose holding power pretty quickly. It doesn't stop me from getting any work done, but definitely isn't 100%. It might be bc of the liquid gasket, or it could be something else. Haha.

      @@MrJustinWheeler Great! The problem is likely with the piston or piston O-ring in the top cover. The next time you feel like opening it again, change out the piston with the newer Jubilee style that has multiple seals on the piston. It will fit perfectly as long as the cylinder is still in good condition. You can install the correct gasket then. :-) I had a 1950 8N and the new piston fixed the leak down on the hitch.

    Dude, are you in Del City??? If so, still got that "parts tractor"?

    • @MrJustinWheeler
      @MrJustinWheeler  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m in Norman. But still have the parts tractor. What do you need?!

    I see you have a broken eye on the top side of your draft control take the other one off and put it on your tractor so you have full control of your draft onr this tractor top full control of draft middle medium draft bottom light draft control this is for your two bottom plow middle for your disk.
