    The pick guard is the only thing preventing me from getting one of these. I like your idea of making it optional.

    Beautiful ukulele's from Flight (Yet again!) and your description and playing of each certainly showed off the true beauty and clarity of each remarkable instrument - and I can see the reason you played an entire night on the one ukulele when you first received it. I said to you when I met you at the Great British Ukulele Festival 2024 that I was looking for the Flight Nighthawk - but after seeing and hearing the Flight Comet - I want one!! (Now to try and persuade my darling better half that I definitely need another Ukulele!!!!).

    Your expert reviews are soooo interesting, insightful and helpful Alex. I've been delighted with the Flight Carabao I purchased from you earlier in the year and would certainly love to fill every wall in my house with ukuleles! With Christmas on the horizon perhaps I'll be in touch again soon re the purchase of my first Baritone!

    Perfect timed video for me, I was looking at the Flight IRIS Tenor but felt confused about the specifications and overwhelmed with all choices available . As a new player (6weeks) with limited knowledge this video has definitely answered my questions, hopefully Southern Ukulele Store has them still in stock come pay day🙏🏻🤞

    I got one from SUS setup as a lefty with Alex’s own baritone strings and it plays and sounds brilliant. I have removed the pick guard, was really simply, little bit of heat to warm the glue and then some dental floss and 5 mins later it was off, another 10 mins with a cloth and some “goo gone” and job done you can’t tell it ever had it. Now to see it I can remove the glue from the pick guard itself and maybe flip it and fit it back on the other side so it looks like it was always a lefty 😂

    • @igorchiandetti5981

      @@igorchiandetti5981 It looked good without the pick guard, but I have flipped it and put it back on the other side so it looks like a factory lefty. No difference in sound that I noticed. I did try posting a link to a photo but it seems to have been removed

    Hi, Alex - I own a Flight exotic wood concert Uke! She plays great has lovely tone but like the sound adding low G string tuning. Used to play guitar years ago …. Time passed stuff happened like broken wrists twice, ( non Uke related ! ) also have three drums & three flutes.
    so i was doing a guest Poetry gig with these three lovely ladies, they played soprano , tenor & baritone respectively singing own compositions & covers.
    They said try a Ukulele, never looked back since decided to!I am now looking for a beautiful mellow rich sounding Tenor - have looked at the flight Mandy Harvey Tenor, they look great but unsure about sound, seems lighter than the flight comet one.
    Really love your very detailed blog reviews and playing them too. It has given me, food for thought. I intend trying a few out before I buy!
    I’m in the UK so to get a bargin may have to travel a bit far … but well worth it!
    I love the look and sound of several you’v reviewed on TH-cam, love the iris Tenor
    and the flight Comet in blue is stunning & sounds it too - also like the Kala Ukes the
    KA FMTG also took my fancy too, and a lovely cut out Cordoba! ……Which one will I choose this watch this space! Will update!
    Thank so much Alex …keep doing what your doing
    it’s greatly appreciated, Fab playing you really made that Comet Sing out, sheer Poetry in motion ! 🥰👍🎸😁

    Flight blue ukuleles are soooo awesome ! There is some magic in a blue uke (a real blue uke, not a greenish-blue one)... My only problem with these celestial beauties is that most of them - if not all - are asymmetrical. And I am a lefty, lol.

    Hi there wow Mazing . Since you are a lefty do u change the strings to lefty or do u just flip it and keep it righty ? Do you tune it upside down so you can play lefty ? I’m asking because I’m a lefty and I’m having a really rough time playing it righty . When I play it lefty it feels good in my hand but I don’t know what to do with the tuning and or strings and oh you know what I’m trying to get at !? Well anyway hope you have a blessed and wonderful weekend or week ahead .

      I am playing right handed instruments upside down in the videos.
      I play my own instruments with the strings reversed to left handed and if that's how you like to play I recommend you do the same 😃

    (0:31) ...“I remember in last 12 months, having conversations with Flight”…
    According to their website, Flight is based in Slovenia and I think I heard you mentioned their ukes are made in China.
    Do you know if all is manufactured in China or if there is any other manufacturing plant somewhere else?
    I acquired the “A10 FM Faded Blue 10th Anniversary Tenor”, just after seeing your review… ;-), and they claimed that the “anniversary models represent a new frontier for the company-solid wood ukuleles individually crafted by a master luthier”

    This makes me wonder if they rely on a specific manufacturer…
    Any insight you could bring (provided Flight wants to disclose) would be appreciated.

Many Thanks.

    • @SouthernUkuleleStore
      @SouthernUkuleleStore  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hiya,
      All Flights are made in China. China has experienced Luthiers working independantly or with factories to produce small batch runs... The A10's are made by either a single luthier or perhaps a small team of 2-3 builders. Much in the same way as the top end AnueNue Ukuleles.

    As soon as I saw their announcement here on TH-cam, I knew that I had to get one. And now a green comet is mine.
    Would you like to do a comparison between Fireball and Comet?
    I wonder if one can spot the difference.

  • @mikek4708
    @mikek4708 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Flight Baritone is definitely going to do well. For the price point and those considering trying baritone, does scream quality. With you on that pickguard, send it separate. How is easy is it to remove?. Then you played the Comet, and they do it in green, oh no. 🫣. May have to get rid of one of my Ukes as I have a one in, one out rule. ( imposed by my wife 😂) Great review Alex.
