- Today we and dad caught some big trout 3 different ways in beautiful oak creek canyon Arizona. The stock for these trout is coming to a close soon so be sure and get them while you can! As you can see there are a few different ways you can catch them.
Oak creek trout fishing is amazing here in the red rock forest of Sedona AZ. Pretty much every big poo of water has fish in it. You can catch them fly fishing, spinner fishing, jigging, and even bait if you don’t feel like doing that.
Creek fishing is especially the way I like to catch trout here, but the ponds will be stocked this winter as well if you do not want to go far from home. Get yourself some rainbow trout!

You should try to fish for this fish called the Gila Trout. They stock some pretty good ones down the East Verde River.
That’s next on the list. I think east verde is done with stocking for the year. But rumor has it they’re gunnu be stocked in the salt this year

Oak Creek is a great place for some stockers! you should challenge yourself and go for some wild trout or some large browns! There are some holes around Payson and the White Mountains that hold behemoths.
I do know of some places for that and I need to go do it. I fish stockers mainly because it appeals to more people. Not many do the wild trout thing so people don't tend to watch as much. I may need to do just one tho because i know of some places there are some giants
@@TheFishinMagician20 that’s completely understandable man. I’m sure people would love to see you pull a 20+ incher though 😏. I’ve spent hours on Google earth scouting out trout spots and that really pays off. My biggest trout was still at the salt river though 😂
So hard keeping up with baits and flies and worms. So far I know I have to get trout magnet and fly fish bait. Where. I’ll have to start taking notes 😊

I really enjoyed watching your video about fishing Oak creek near Sedona! I have two questions to ask..Have you ever fished the Verde River and can a 70 year old with a bad hip make it to the pools that you fished, or any pools for that matter?
Thanks! I have fished the verde yes. The pools here would possibly be accessible? It’s a steep hike to one, but there’s along way for the other that is slightly less steep haha

Above city! There are fish everywhere here luckily. Above slide rock state park is catch and release only

Well when you have a chance go to horse shoe river here in Az follow the road to get down to rattle snake cove there will be a sand beach area there and a trail to the right follow that trail as far as it’ll take you when you can’t drive anymore walk about 2 miles there’s the devils hole I caught a 53lbs flat there and a few 20lbs- there as well a few bass and 3 rainbow trout Don’t Go Into the EAGLES nest it’s federal land there will be a sign

we parked at the rec sites and also just some dirt turnouts. They are taken 90% of the time during peak season tho
