I rented a condo in Huay Khwang and it is a basic condo, without a gym or swimming pool, but it is provided with WIFI and I can do downstairs my laundry.
It is 25 minutes walking to the MRT, but following your advice and getting friends with the local people.
Now if I don`t want to walk to the MRT then they bring me with the motor taxi for 20 baht.
The area is great, if you don`t mind the live bands playing to 01:00 am in the morning, also the street food and many bars and clubs within 10 minutes walk.
I think it is very personal what you are looking for to rent, just basic or in luxury.
That is the greatest of Bangkok, you have many options to choose how you will stay in Bangkok and how much you can effort to spend.
I am now 4 days here and i keep smiling the whole time, i love this city.

I ❤ Thailand and is considering some short & long term stays in Bangkok. I have been following your videos and they are very informative. In Vancouver, you can’t get a dog shed for $300! Sadly that is the reality and I am not joking!! People are renting their closets for $800!! 😂😅 Moving to Thailand is an easy answer!
How is the noise in your area? I heard that some areas are quieter than others. Asok tends to be kind of loud while Thong Lo tends to be more quiet because there are a lot of Japanese staying there.

Something else to think about is the pools in these places. They are not heated usually in Thailand and unless they get a lot of sun (full sun all day), the water is actually pretty cold.

There are already so many epic condos with amazing facilities. You'll be spoilt for choice. Just research well for best value.
How easy is it to find a condo and to get a job if you don't speak Thai, please? I was adopted from Bangkok by Swedish parents and I grew up in Sweden, so I'm Thai by ethnicity but I don't speak the language. Your condo is lovely

sometimes wish be in Bkk for maybe 1 year ..why not ..but I feel ist not easy get a normal room rate for a Condo who is a bit larger and have space for separate office room ...if you have info about that would be great to see another video about it :-) thanks !!

Well, it went from affordable to not so affordable in the blink of an eye--for me. I think many would certainly wanna use the pool and facilities but thanks just the same for the information.

I have been looking at all your U Tube videos and you recommend The Berkeley hotel I just checked it out and it is now $112.00 which is too expensive for me could you recommend something cheaper which is near transportation I would also go to a Condo or Apartment building. I've stayed at many 35 square meter condos. It's like being in jail. However, if you are just sleeping there, it's no problem.
It depends on the floor plan. I have 108 sqm corner condo with 2 full bathrooms and 2 bedrooms. Living room is so huge. Balcony is in the opposite end of east, north and west but I feel the floor plan makes the room dark. Now I just bought another condo in Chonburi. 29sqm but I have a jacuzzi, a Japanese style toilet, huge balcony and one separate bedroom (glass wall so it is not cramped-looking). Let alone so many built in storages/closets. Yes it is small but so beautifully designed and functioning!!

I spend most of my time outside my condo and moreover my home apartment is 280 square 🤣
As long as there's a separate kitchen and a tabe and a separate sitting place it must be better than hotel.

Two month Security deposit it will be in the contact even though you rented Only Three month, Because The rooms Come with Furniture TV refrigerator ready to move in It's not like in America that they're rented only empty Room. Think About It If you rent The Hotel You can get Only 4 nights with all kinds of fees

This is tangentially related: I'm curious as to how much condo maintenance fees the owners pay per month. My impression is that the monthly condo maintenance fees that the owner/landlord pays are around 75% of the mortgage payment or the rent amount. Have i gotten the correct understanding or am i far off ? If I'm correct it seems renting the condo is not very profitable for the owner.
I think condo fees are hi. I saw a post where they actually gave it as a percentage but i don't recall the post. They may have used a percentage of cost of condo but it turned me off. I looked it up. Around $1.50/sq meter monthly. Sounds like your point has merit.
I'll rather live across the street on the top floor with the very nice terasse, and it properly only cost 70 dollars a month

I'd never want to live in a city where everyone is walking around with facial diapers and feeling paranoid of others. The loss of freedoms is mind-boggling unless you come from China or North Korea. Much happier in Koh Chang where I hear the sounds of birds and the ocean surf instead of motorcycles missing exhaust pipes and ambulances running all day.
