You know I train with a Chinese shifu who is the head of a system and he doesn’t call himself a master. We call him that. He is the lineage holder. I know xing yi is wonderful, but just keep it real. You were an America dude studying xing yi, your skill is average.
I study Krav Maga and Iron Palm Kung Fu. TMA I feel is obsolete for Modern Streetfighting with the advent of Gangs and Armed Assailants, along with MMA.

Online Training through Russell Stutely and Scott Bolan. My foundational Style is Cohmrac Bas though since it is the most direct and Brutally effective, the Art of Christophe Clugston. Krav Maga has also been proven effective in real-life situations against real Criminals and Psychotics by myself.
You cannot make an internal art externally. The ancestor told you when they are in the martial condition what was physically occurring in the body, but you cannot make it externally and get the condition that way. That is the external method. Your lineage is broken in proper transmission. Like most internal arts. The feeling produces the shape. Shape can never create the genesis, it comes after genesis. So ancient observation in your art is very clear , feeling-shape- phenomenon. It’s so bad going from xin yi, heart shape, to intent shape, slipped into intention shape and it’s so bad that guo yuseng lineage was broken and reformed as the corrected yiquan. That too quickly slipped back into external nonsense with only one branch holding the feeling transmission. My gf just held more content, confused by the external explanation of making shapes, I asked her to find the ability and the shape map you describe appears. Trying to get the shape by the map doesn’t work , not then or now. Trying to implicate the shape doesn’t work. “He who is proficient at technique is invariably poor at technique “ that from the most famous xing yi master of the 20th century.
