I've been thinking about buying this saw but in the Gen 2 version for years. Never did since I have 2 Rear Handles. Will definitely get the kit for this one.
Good video, as always. I just picked this saw up unexpectedly - I was in the market for a Super Sawzall, and Home Depot made an offer I couldn't refuse. A Super Sawzall, dual charger, circular saw and 4 Forge 8AH batteries later, I have some cordless red to go next to my cordless yellow. I'm battery format loyal, not brand loyal, as long as the quality is right.

I've owned or used a lot of cordless saws, from Festool, to Makita, to Dewalt 60V, I settled on a new Flex 24V inline saw with Blade to left side, best ballance and SUPERB Power, great line of sight, and battery lasts all day!
I think I’ve had a string of bad luck with their batteries or something. I’ve ended up with a bunch of them over time and I find they die super fast in cold weather. My biggest issue with them though is whenever they completely die it can take up to days for them to start taking a charge again. I also hater the inline saw when I bought it, the ergonomics just didn’t do it for me. This is just my opinion but if you ever get a chance to try the 7 1/4 Metabo rear handle, it’s the best I have used by far. I’ve owned them all, quite literally, and for my money that’s the winner. Take care fellow tool enthusiast,
This saw is a powerhouse much more improved over the prior gen i dare to say its a perfect saw , i have almost try every cordless saw on the market this one is my favourite , i am a sidewinder guy
Gotta give it to Milwaukee, they knew their cordless 7 1/4 circ saw was a weak link and really improved it. While it’s not some perfect machine, it’s much closer to DeWalt and Makita than it ever was before
Seems promising. I have a love-hate relationship with my current gen2 saw. My biggest problems are it won't clear a speed square at max depth (is that fixed?), the depth lock nut never seems tight enough, and the switch is incredibly prone to dust interference, requiring me to soak in contact spray on occasion or it's dead. Drives me nuts.
This saw seems like a significant leap forward in the 7-1/4" circ saw market. Any chance you will do an in-depth review like this for the new Milwaukee 2833-20 6-1/2"?
Interested to try it out. I've always found Milwaukee saws to have a kind of loose and crude feeling and so have always gone with other brands when it comes to saws even though I have mostly M18. Looks like they sort of ripped off the Flex guard and led design, which is nice, but unfortunately not the side ejecting dust port.
Why are the models different between the kit and the tool only? The kits saw is model# 283421HD and the tool only is 283420? Is there a difference, if so what is the difference?
Hi. Buddy. Will you have a review coming with new 300mm concrete Stihl saw and belle 1 head to head comparisons. Both cut 110mm from a 300mm which tremendous for bricklaying industry Makita and Milwaukee have heavy weight monsters that cut near 120mm-125mm depth.
Rob, I have a Makita 40v 6.5" saw with a left blade. The new 6.5" saw from Milwaukee just came out. I assume you or your crew have both saws. How does the new Milwaukee saw compare to the Makita?
What I really wanted was a comparison between the flexvolt and this saw, the flexvolt is the last Dewalt tool I own before I decide to replace it so this review doesn't even help in deciding from upgrading the 1st gen flexvolt to the 2nd gen.
How does it stack up against dcs578? My only gripe with dewalt saws is the blade guard hangs up too easily. I mostly run dewalt, but recently invested into the new mikwaukee left bladie and 2953 impact driver along with other 12v tools.
Hey Rob, i know it may not be your thing but i was hoping you could do an honest and thorough review of Milwaukees new M18 and M12 audio link speakers. Ive had a dream of building my own modular cordless surround system for the jobsite and wondering if these might actually be up to the task. From what ive heard they arent true stereo and each speaker is only transmitting mono which would definitely be a deal breaker. I feel like in 2024/25 Milwaukee should have been up to the task.
They need to figure out that if they sell a saw that a saw needs to have blades that a person can get. This is the case of the 5 3/8 m12, whereas the 7 1/4 is not a problem.
I have the 2834-20. That’s gen 2? Because everything he is talking about is what my 2734 or whatever had. I didn’t even know there was a 21 version of the 2832. I think the numbers are like for the smart key or something because if I could post a picture, I would post the specifications on the box, and a picture of my saw and it looks the same
My kit only came with a standard charger not the rapid charger. Yes I know the chargers, standard, rapid and super. It takes half the work day to charge it. I would also like to know where Milwaukee comes up with there stats? From what they are claiming it has about 30 percent more power and cuts about 30 percent faster then the Dewalt. And about 50 percent on a corded one. Not even close, I have all 3 of them. This new Milwaukee cuts out on rips easier then the others. They are soooo FOS. Hopefully this one will get through one house at least. The last rear handle one I bought didn't even make it through the first floor of a house before it died
Just need Milwaukee to make their chargers waterproof, at least sprinkle proof so we can charge outside on site when there's a chance of rain or wet snow.
@@sarneli_yyc you take all of your chargers and mount them inside a pack out case, plug them all in to a power strip and then drill a hole in the bottom for the power strip plug to come out of an EXT cord to go in. "Milwaukees new M18 super charger with that active cooling technology" a fan... a fan is what they put in there, a little 1 dollar computer fan, and they spin it as pioneering, futuristic. As for the saw, why did it take such a well established brand 16 years to make the blade guard flare out 10 degrees to make it slightly better at not catching when you do small rip cuts??? Sounds more like drip feeding technology to the market to steel our money to me.
Been using my right hand to cut since I started working a decade ago. Dunno why you guys whine about this. A left sided blade makes me have to completely rethink how I cut pieces. This saw is meant for cutting with your eyes above it, worm drives are for being behind the saw. I had the rear handle and for vast majority of tasks, it sucked
