    This is the finest how to kart video I’ve ever seen. Not to long, not too short. I watched this as an end screen suggestion, then came back to comment but couldn’t find it right away. I think the title of you first how to video got you more views. Maybe make a how to playlist.

    Hey Ethan I’m in jr 2 at hckc and I noticed we have the same chassis but I was wondering if your planning on switching from comp to red speed or 206 to ka?

    • @EthanPalosh
      @EthanPalosh  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Westin!! I haven't been back to HCKC in a while, but I've heard there's been a red speed take over...I likely won't be getting a new chassis or moving classes soon. Compkart mafia! 😋😋

    Do you have to heat up your tires to make them go faster?

    • @EthanPalosh
      @EthanPalosh  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes! In karts, the best way to heat up your tires is to drive fast on them. Friction when cornering is what causes this. After 1-2 laps, they should be warm.

    Dude, this is what I want to do. I'm not sure if it's too late to get into go kart racing and work my way up for sponsorships/brand deals, but I sure want to try and see what happens. The goal is to gather enough cash to purchase a kart, find/join a group, pinpoint places to practice and improve, then live and breath go kart racing 😄. One day man, one day.

      Rooting for you!! I started in your exact position. I would 100% recommend simracing to get your fundamentals down if you haven't done so already (lower cost comparatively) - and when the time is right moving into karts! Regardless, keep pushing towards your passion and you'll make it. It took several years an a 24 slide presentation to my parents to get them onboard LOL. You got this!

    • @fritztk9857
      @fritztk9857 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@EthanPalosh Thank you man, I appreciate it! I will definitely be looking into sim from on. I was afraid that starting this late would be detrimental to my success in karting, but I have a feeling that it just might work out better than I expect it to. Thank you again man, I wish you all the best!

    Good video! I was wondering if late apex turning can be used in karting or will it just slow down unnecessarily?

    • @EthanPalosh
      @EthanPalosh  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey!! Yes, apexing slightly later into most corners (especially tighter turns or ones that lead onto a straight) is faster than a geometric line. This was just a basic concept video, but in real racing we apex "later" to open up the exit and get on the throttle earlier. It is a little slower on entry, and faster on the exit...but don't overdo it. "Late apexing" is just a few inches or so off of a geometric line, and has more to do with how you rotate the kart than where you actually apex. Open up that exit! :D Hope this helps!

    Hey Ethan I’m thinking of joining Hckc in the 100cc jr class and wanted to ask if you knew if there’s a lot of 100cc’s to race with?

    • @EthanPalosh
      @EthanPalosh  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Abel!! We are currently on break for the winter and a lot of people can switch up classes for the new season. If you can, I would recommend coming down and watching a race in February when we start again and seeing how the class looks this year. I know we have a lot of new members joining the club.
      Historically it hasn't been super popular at least from what I've seen, but I know a lot of drivers making the switch from 206 to KA so we'll just have to see!
      Hope to see you out there!

    This video wasn’t helpful. It was EXTREMELY helpful! I currently am doing karting races and was placing at the back of the grid each race. After this and the last video, I understand the concept of the racing line much more thoroughly, and am in the top 5 now. Keep it up! Great video!

    Drifting, or powerslide, actually gives you faster exit speed if you do it properly. This is how Roger Clark has beaten Stig Blomqvist at RAC Rally. While drifting you just need to play with the throttle and just let the car slide.

    Hi Ethan, I’m just wondering to start into karting at 15 years of age, but I’m not sure how much it’s costs all together e.g racewear, kart, kart parts, etc. could you give me your opinion on how much you spend roughly thanks.

    • @EthanPalosh
      @EthanPalosh  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey there!! Depending on what you're looking to get into, the kart price can vary a lot. I race 4-stroke Lo206 karts in the USA, which is a pretty low cost option. I got mine used for $3100, but you can get one for as little as $2500 or new as high as $7000. I would recommend getting a used one to start though. Higher power/2-stroke karts like KA100 or similar will be more expensive. Racewear - helmet (minimum $500. do NOT skimp on this it is critical to safety), suit (prob around $100-$300), gloves ($50-$100), neck brace (~$100), shoes (~$100). You can expect to pay around $700-$1000 a year on parts and maintenance depending on what class you run and how often you crash etc. It's intimidating at first, but remember that if you take care of the kart, you can sell it when you're done to earn a chunk of that money back. In order to convince my parents, I had to make a 24 slide presentation....Hope this helps!!
