I just saw Supersense is doing a picture disk. Now it seems like a con.

Yes...It's all a money grab in all this bespoke audio offerings. One has to be a real fan of somebody or buy it as a gift for somebody.

I have the Gregory Porter live Recording Edition. Sounds good, but there is audible hum and noise and the recording balance is not 100% my taste (singer to much in the background). 444€ is a lot of money, I expected better sound. I also got the Nina Simone "I put a spell on you" picture disk - this one really sounds superb.

I am one of those "big jazz fans" and would never buy one of these. I can buy 11 copies of the Analog Productions version, and there is no way that the lacquer sounds 11 times better. If any flaking of the lacquer occurs, and it will with time, that collector price falls to nil. Further, I could instead buy one copy of A Love Supreme, then 10 different audiophile quality records. More jazz, fewer white gloves.

Good points. I'm basically in your camp. I wanted to see what all the fuss was about.

Vinyl never degrades, warps etc. A handmade process in analogue on every sense. You obviously have the mindset because you read, heard it somewhere that lacquers don't last.

Depends on your system - if you have a high end system, there is a big difference with the Supersense edition. If you have a lower end system, you won’t hear as much of a difference.

@@Fluterra high end systems, like mine, do not prevent lacquers from flaking. Its still a no thank you for me.

@@nohandle54 the Supersense laquers do not flake. What are you talking about it? They sound way better than a typical pressing. They have been tested for over a 100 plays and don’t wear. Stop these lies and BS.

I have both. Number 9 of 99 of the European edition. They are both from different master tapes there was two original tapes.

So 9 and 99 are two different masters or the euro and US are two different masters. What tapes are SuperSense using? I've heard one was a rejected RVG tape meant for US release that has been in the vault forever. Another was a safety copy that was made in Europe back when the the album was released.

@@archifi9978 they both use that same original master tape Europe and usa which was the original master tape until they recalled the uk master for normal use. I have number 9 of the first 99 of the European edition.
