i run a timney and my only complaint is the very soft reset 2.75 pull 13 to 15 oz return. in my wifes gun is a cmc that has pull of 3.0 but a RESET of 1.6😎
Great idea. It makes perfect sense to me that a shorter pull and a small difference between the reset force and pull force determines how fast you can operate the trigger. With some triggers, I have to make my finger pad leave the surface of the trigger and then reengage to ensure a reset. Have you tried that or is this hopelessly too slow?
I really like my cmc for longer range stuff but suffer greatly with the trigger freeze stuff. I run a lot of 22lr conversion stuff before a comp just to get that mil spec muscle memory out of my head. The reset on a polished mil spec forcefully pushes my finger back which prompts, or dare I say triggers, a response in my brain to squeeze again. I prefer my tuned milspec but when things go to 400yds, I want a better trigger for that. Max, you're the first person I've ever heard bring this up but it's been a pet peave of mine for a long time.
I wonder how the Triggertech would do in pcc. The guy from the X-RING channel does 3 gun and jumps back and forth between Hiperfire and TT. Maybe he could help fill in the data. Great videos Max. Thank you for the time and effort you put into this project.
I have shot it in other guns, and dry fired it a lot too. In my mind it's equivalent to the AR gold. Perfect feeling trigger, near zero travel, light with almost non-existent reset force.
What I dont understand is how you can have such a low trigger pull and not encounter full auto... with Triggertech and Hiperfire comp, unless its set to around 3 pounds pull force, I get regular bursts... (MBX Pro, stiff and lighter spring, MBX buffer or Blitzkrieg hydraulic... doesnt matter...)
I've had the same problem but only in blowback guns. Have my Hiperfire ECL set to just under 2 lbs. in my MPX and never had it double. I suspect it may be due to the gun moving rearwards relative to your trigger finger during recoil (allowing the trigger to reset) and then subsequently pushed back into the trigger finger when the bolt chambers a new round. In essence, the gun is being bump fired unconsciously. Suggest you try firing the gun while keeping your trigger finger firmly pinned to the rear until your dot resets. If it doesn't double, try pulling the trigger as you normally would but while really pulling the gun into your shoulder (pretend you're firing a .338 Lapua or 10 gauge offhand). If you still don't get a burst, then the trigger is functioning normally and it's the gun's movement within your stance/grip causing it to double. If this is the case, then you can still get away with a sub 3 lb. pull so long as you keep the gun locked to your body.
I'm waiting for my first PCC and your content is priceless. Thank you.
Awesome video and i have not seen anyone else break down triggers like this. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos
Surprised he didn't check the CMC trigger.
Great review and insight Max! :)

Yeah if you have to do that on your Trigger, I'd say your splits will suffer hard. Even on the AR gold, I don't have to do that.

I would like to see what you say about cmc pcc trigger. 🤔
