green49285 how was the bisping fight bs??? Everything was fair and square Silva had very little action in the fight and the flying knee landed just after the bell so you can't count it on a score card. We either abide by the rules or we bend them there's no alternating

Thats what you gotta love about Forrest, he's a modest humble fighter that doesn't go around bragging about how good he is and doesn't talk shit on any of his opponents. It's going to be one hell of a fight and i hope Forrest comes out on top

it is a super effective move against people with a wide upper frame, making the triangle VERY difficult to sink successfully.
I still think its a high risk move because it doesnt have a secure lock down point UNTIL the arms are looped around the torso.
We may just get to see it in the Mir/Brock. This fight i believe provides a perfect stage for the submission. I cant imagine how hard it would be for Mir to secure a tri on brock so if given the option, im certain hed go for teepee.
If only he knew what was in store for him :(

Forest is one of the most down to earth guys in the UFC! and people always count him out but the man can take ALOT of punishment! i think this in going to be an interesting fight to say the least!

Lots of people do after the Cote, Leites and Maia incidents.
People don't realize that MMA is such a fast sport that "the best"s are all coming out one after another, every week, every fight, there's someone that's better than the previous "best" It's constantly evolving and changing. Forrest will be around for a while, he's a regular now
oh and p.s. anderson himself practically said he fought to coast along and win a decision.
Forest is a great dude and a tough-as-nails fighter, he just got caught. Silva is the shit! I can't think of anyone that could take him at this point in time.

Forrest is a solid dude, I like his attitude. He doesn't disrespect his opponents at all. I feel sorry for him that he got knocked out so fast and that he was embarassed, but this is Anderson Silva we're talking about. Anderson Silva is the most awesome fighter I've ever seen besides Bruce. To get knocked out by the Spider shouldn't be a cause of shame for anyone, it should be expected. Forrest Griffin is still a badman.

yeah the UFC only offers around 20-40k depending on the fight, but this one was special. Dana White must have though Griffin needed a little more than the standard payrate as inspiration
I, very much like you, was shocked that forrest got beat so easily. However, take the Trilogy between boxers Mickey Ward and Arturo Gatti. They brawled like any fight i've ever seen. They were just evenly matched. Once they took higher lever competition, they were easily disposed of. You can get a brawl with two evenly matched nobodies, but only because their evenly matched.

totally agree with you on that. rampage doesn't have near as good of technique as silva. like pretty everyone says technique can beat anything.

It is a nice submission. Teepee is very effective in certain situations.
In most cases, when one leg is crossed over the back, the immediate thing to do is to sink a triangle. something every fighter trains against. By not sinking it and waiting to find the right moment to loop your hands behind your legs and torso of the opponent, he will have an ample amount of time to throw that leg down and put you into side control.
Only one thought crosses when a leg hits your neck GET THE FUCK OUT
shogun did get robbed, after machida knocked out evans, the anouncers said welcome to the machida era, which eneviatbly (forgive spelling) means unless you knock him out, you don't win.
it just seems funny to me. I didn't think it was a fix til I watched the fight a few more times and I cant disagree with the people that think it was fixed.
Anyone think things are alittle odd. Did Silva even connect with that KO "Jab of death". A straight jab that snaps your neck back and to the right. But allows you to have enough sense about you to put your arm down before falling to the canvis. Forrest never give up spirit never fails. You sure earned your 100g. Wait... what? Forrest gave up? WTF is that? I thought thats why they put this shit together? Didn't Danna shit trip that Silva (Meal ticket) wasn't hitting hard enough or some shit?

I feel bad for Forrest too.. He got played hard. Anderson is to damn methodical.. I dont think even Machida could beat him. Anderson and Machida may look like they have similar styles but its really different. Machida is more of a play by ear react to the action where as Anderson seems like he sets up his opponents to make certain moves that he already has counters for. Machidas good at chess but it seems like Anderson dictates his opponents moves controling both sides.
Anderson silva is most likely going to win but by decision theres no way forrest gets knocked out or taps out forrest could take hits like nobodys business and plus hes fought very well rounded fighter so maybe he could win by decision. It will be an interesting fight to watch.
