    A full skincare routine with products which have these ingredients for combo skin would be great! I’d say I have more so hormonal acne, tend to get really red spots and have old dark acne brown marks/scars.

    For those looking for good serum/toner with less than 5% niacinamide to try and minimize purging Good Molecules is a great brand. Their Niacinamide brightening toner contains 3% (along with ethylated ascorbic A- and licorice root) and their Discoloration correction serum contains 4% niacinamide ( along with cetyl tranexamate mesylate aka gentle form of tranexamic A-). HTH. Cheers!

    Just a note
    The acnecide wash she holds in her hand does NOT contain benzoyl peroxide. The one she holds is just a daily cleanser. I made the mistake of buying this. The box pictured is the correct wash packaging. The wash comes in a 50g tube. I double checked this on their website. They do 2 washes, the Daily cleansing wash and the Face wash spot treatment with 5% benzoyl peroxide which is the one in the tube.
    Hope this helps

    From my experience where purging is concerned it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. You just have to be patient, remember it’s only temporary and you’ll come out better than you went in. YES! It DOES get worse before it gets better but don’t be afraid just go thru with it.

    • @tamilselvi155
      @tamilselvi155 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What do say about the dark spots left behind from purging??

    • @omariedurrant337
      @omariedurrant337 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tamilselvi155Treat them with the same mentality but remember that it takes a while longer to see improvements where hyperpigmentation is concerned. The dark marks fade over time as you continue to use the Niacinamide. That was my experience with the 10% concentration from the ordinary. You will need to be a bit more resilient and patient with dark marks as they don’t just go away as quickly as breakouts/purging. It’s a mental game that pays off in the long run.

    Thank God for your channel. I still have acne scars from my teens, and I’m almost 30! Most products that were very popular when I was a teen were terrible for skin of color. I wish stayed clear of Clean&Clear, St.Ives apricot scrub, and products by Neutragena. Those brands messed up my screen and over dried it.

      I think just using one active at a time is much more gentle to your skin as too much acids can cause further irritation Or burns leads to more pigmentation and u know then u have to start all again.

    Hi Dr V, thank you for all your content, which I've found incredibly useful and adjusted my skincare accordingly as a woman with skin of colour. As I am in my early 50's I was wondering if you could do a video on the best tinted moisturisers please as my moisturiser is my best friend, but it's nice to have a good hydrating moisturiser with a hint of colour? As there are quite a few on the market, finding the right one is proving to be quite difficult. Thank you for all your help and advice, and I just wish I had this knowledge in my 20's and 30's which might have helped in some of the skin damage that's occurred over the years. Thank you.

    I just want to say this video is extremely extremely useful for me because I’m dealing with both acne and hyperpigmentation and I’m not sure about skincare combination like vitamin C, adapalene, benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid. This video helps me create a routine that works and doesn’t irritate my skin further. I struggle with acne but my acne isn’t that bad, like once one pimple goes away another one or two pops up. I’m so confused to why my skin keeps popping up pimples when my skincare routine looks like it should help and work. (Routine: cerave foaming cleanser, missha artemisia essences which is a toner, Benton snail ultimate serum, cerave moisturising cream and a 2.5% benzoyl peroxide spot treatment cream. Is it normal to still get acne with this routine? Is it because I’m 19 and still going puberty? Hope you see this answer, thanks!!

Skin improved immediately! They are apparently non comedogenic, but Break me out like crazy. I avoid it in products

    Hi Dr.V, I started to use Niacinamide toner to help with my acne marks but after 5th/6th time of use, it gave me an allergy when I woke up at the morning. It did not feel any irritation when I used it. According to what I saw online, it seems to have 3% of niacinamide. Now I am not sure if I am allergic to it and should try another niacinamide product or not. I would appreciate your advice. Support your channel and stay safe!
    Ps. I have combination to oily skin.

I remember two years ago someone saying the same but I didn´t believe it because POC women always looked at Niacinamide as a brilliant solution and ordinary produced only 10%. I break out with 2% Paula´s choice salicylic acid as well! benzoyl peroxide helps but dries the skin completely. I will look for Niacinamide 5% . I have never used azelaic acid.
