This is cool but I got the ssf metalloid percussion recently and thats a great "hat" module. I do like the effects that are built in to the Archer though.
Nice. Tough competition though from Metalloid for a little more $. 8 hp is nice. I'd still have to go Metalloid, especially with its two outs. Plus Metalloid just sounds better, on TH-cam at least. The selling point of effects don't do it for me because, subjectively, effects on a hi-hat isn't something that usually sounds good. I didn't think they sounded good here. Love Shakmat's other modules though. Always creative.
I own the Metalloid and think this sounds ten times better. Nothing on the Metalloid actually sounds like a hi hat. Three modes with dozens of variations and they all sound the same. This actually sounds like different hi hats.
Just a few words about the effects : they are intended to be a part of the source sound design. Do not consider this section as a effect (phaser, delay,...) added at the end of the chain but more like a second parameter to the sound source itself ;)
damn. the module has a shit ton of options... sorry WMD< this can replace like 3 or 4 of those 8hp metal sample based modules they have =x I'ma do that in fact... pz bro!
As a musician I also enjoy working with some WMD drum modules. Be aware the sound synthesis engine in our Archer's Rig is way different from the Crucible. Archer's Rig has a quite large spectrum of electronic hats in his quiver as the Crucible is a physical modelling synthesizer more oriented on realistic cymbals ;) So two very different beasts !
Why aren't we using encoders for selecting values, why are we using a pot? Esp when this stupid knob is being used for literally 12 things. This one isn't terirble but Shakmat always makes some weird UI choices

Their new modules are really cool
So much sonic range for a hi hat module. Awesome stuff, and a great video!
Nice review Joey. Was eying this for awhile after being a little meh about the SSF Metalloid. Nice mix of sounds here.
My bank account disliked this video. But don't worry I LOVE it.
So versatile 😲

The effects and the randomization per hit controllable in range per assignation make it an incredible module
I believe Colin Benders played the shit out of that module in his Stone Techno set.
he also replaced all his kick modules with the Battering Ram ;)

Brute !
Archer's seems very quiet. Should we put a boost after him?
It has an analog overdrive built in & you can change the gain settings so you shouldn't need to
@@M_orcan Thank you!
