The inserted bars don’t allow the exposed bars to travel any further into the leather preventing the leather to be damaged or leaving a mark. Also, when you lean your head into the headrest, you force the exposed bars to levitate away from the leather seats. Think of a see saw. Physics 101.
Statistically, you're more prone to driving off a bridge into icy waters than you are to get into an auto accident. The steel inserts for the headrest can be used to smash your windows and windshield to escape from drowning. Also, the odds of you being in a road rage dilemma is higher than a semi-truck rear ending you at 145mph. The same steel inserts can be used to quickly poke the eyes out of a Karen that just got out of the car in front of you to yell at you.

I’ve even tried different cushions, beaded seat covers, and lumbar support cushions that didn’t help much. Do you have any recommendations for aftermarket seat covers or cushions that could make my long trips more comfortable?

So what’s the fix for the damage now caused to your leather seats, by the force being applied to the bare metal head-rest prong that is being transferred to the unprotected leather material?
The weight / force is opposite of the prong which results in the prong not being forced downward but outward whether your sitting upright or lying down. The prong is also rounded at the end and the surface area supporting the prong is the entirety of the length of prong and not just the end piece. But let’s just say the laws of physics and common sense doesn’t apply here and you pressing your head backward causing the prongs to shoot downward with enough force of a chrome coated nonbare metal rounded part to puncture .080” thick synthetic leather, then the solution would be to buy new seats. They’re only $900 each used. Work an extra 2 hours of overtime. 🍷

The reason why the top button is lock and the bottom button is unlock is because it’s mirroring your keyfob and master door lock switch which is the same format. It’s better to keep everything standard .

It's a lot cheaper to just replace your corduroy pants with daisy dukes than to figure a way to install a motorized fan within your current seat design.

Find out if your seat makes a squeaking noise during right or left turns, then look at the seat components on the side your butt pushed down on during the turns. It may require you to get a second person to sit on your seat to replicate the seat shift while you put your head under your seat to locate where the noise is coming from. It could easily be a simple spring holding your leather seats intact. Good luck.

Hey Bob, I've a 2020 lexus GX. Its infotainment system keeps rebooting itself and sometimes goes off for a long period of time. Do you have any idea how to fix it ?
There's an entire forum on that issue. There's even a sequence to reboot your system but that didnt' work fro some. Seems to be a software bug from the mfg. If you have lots of money and nothing better to do, i would just upgrade your navi/audio system to the 2024 aftermarket or tesla screen and call it a day.

Seems like a fine idea for taking a rest, but I don't thing it would be ideal in a crash.
