    The key differences between the PJ Pro and the Uber Driver Xl are:
    PJ Pro has a wider tail, lower tail rocker, and a more pronounced vee concave through the tail.
    All of those characteristics make the PJ Pro and the Uber Driver XL work well in a similar wave range / similar conditions. If you're looking for your board to feel a little more like a normal high performance shortboard then the Uber Driver will offer the closest feel to that.

      If you had to choose between the little wing or the Uber driver for an everyday/ above average wave board what would you go with.

      Hi Zephyr, the Uber Driver and the Little Wing are similar boards and have been designed to be ridden in roughly the same conditions. The Little Wing is slightly more refined and has a little less foam throughout the board which helps it perform a little more like a high performance board compared to the Uber Driver.
      That said, the Little Wing is going to perform a little better than the Uber Driver in everyday/ above average waves for the intermediate / advanced level surfer.

    Hey thanks for the review, sorry for the late comment. How would you size the PJ pro for someone with 80kg and decent upper intermediate but def not pro surf level? Thanks in advance!🤙🤙🤙

    Totally agree with you. Epic board! Really surprised me. 'walks over' the Sub Driver.

    hello. how do you compare this surfboard to the CI Rocket wide? I'm undecided between these two models, for small wave performance board category? ps. or add another model that you would recommend taking a look at? thanks!

    Thanks for the review!
    I had a PJHP that was an all time fav, especially for the average waves in the area I live. Went good when waves were average but really shined when it got good/punchy around chest high.
    It was never a travel board but would love a board with same feeling in bigger better waves. PJ Pro looks to offer that and I’m really interested.
    Will the PJ Pro still work like the PJHP at the bottom end of the range or be more suited for travel plus the better days at my average beachie?

      Hi Graham, I think you're on the mark with your comments on the PJ Pro!
      If you enjoyed the PJHP in good/punchy waves around chest high then the PJ pro is going to work well for you when the waves are bigger than that.
      Based on the info you've sent through, the PJ pro isn't going to work quite as well for you as the PJHP in smaller waves. For you, the PJ Pro is going to be more suited for travel plus the better days around home.

    I really appreciate the thoroughness of your responses to comments- comparing to benchmarks gives the best idea of what the board truly is! My biggest question is:
    How does it compare to the puddle jumper HP?

    • @surfboardempire869
      @surfboardempire869  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the kind words! We're here to help you choose the right board to progress your surfing and get the most out of every session!
      The key differences between the PJ pro and the PJHP are:
      Pro has lower rails, more rocker in the nose and a narrower nose outline.
      The PJ pro is meant to be ridden a little longer than what you'd ride in the PJHP. The PJ pro will handle bigger waves better than a PJHP, this also goes back the other way, so a PJHP will be better in smaller / weaker / fuller waves compared to a PJ pro.

    Are they a large or a medium mick fanning fin and have you guys tried any other fin in this board

    • @surfboardempire869
      @surfboardempire869  ปีที่แล้ว

      The fins used in this review are medium MF's. This model has been ridden with a large variety of fins with most guys riding the same template they'd normally use in their go to performance shortboards. Most fins will gel with the PJ pro!

    Tnx per the review, currently cannot find any better board per sub par small waves than the Rad ripper ( so stable,easy fast entry,electic in pocket & goes easily through flat sections ) , im in a small 5.6 due to its low rocker i can take it even less Lt and shorter than normal ! ,
    Howd u compare with the Rad vs Pjpro ?!!!!

    • @surfboardempire869
      @surfboardempire869  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Stoked to hear you're loving the Rad Ripper so much!
      The PJ Pro is more of a squashed down performance shortboard but without the retro aspected of the Rad Ripper like the beak nose or wing in the tail. It still has that 'skatey' feel like the Rad Ripper and can be ridden nice and short, but can definitely handle a bigger wave or bigger section. You will also notice the rails on the PJP are more forgiving compared to the RR.

    Hi mates… if I use the Sub Driver 2.0 with 28.7 liters, can I use the PJ Pro with 28.3 liters?

    • @surfboardempire869
      @surfboardempire869  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep! Generally you want to ride the PJ pro with around the same literage as your normal shortboard.

    Nice review. How would you compare it to the Lost Subdriver 2.0? Cheers

    • @surfboardempire869
      @surfboardempire869  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Roger, the PJ Pro has a wider nose and tail compared to the sub driver 2.0. Both boards have a lower rocker through the tail but the nose of the sub driver 2.0 has a little more lift compared to PJP. The PJP is also meant to be ridden a little shorter than the sub driver 2.0. The rails on the sub driver 2.0 are also a little fuller compared to PJP which gives it more forgiveness through turns and recovering from turns.
      In summary, if you're looking for a board that is more refined in the nose and tail and you like riding boards with a little more length, then you might like the sub driver 2.0 better. If you like your boards shorter and with more of a 'skatey' feel but still looking for performance, then the PJP is a better option.
      For the intermediate to advanced surfer, both of these boards work really well in most conditions around waist high to a little overhead.

    • @rogerpye1865
      @rogerpye1865 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. I have a Subdriver 2.0. If they both cover the same wave range, I guess I'm wondering if the PJ Pro would add anything extra for me.

    • @surfboardempire869
      @surfboardempire869  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The PJP is going to cover smaller waves (around waist high) better than the Sub Driver 2.0 - PJP is also going to paddle into smaller or weaker waves better than the Sub Driver 2.0 and the PJP is going to have more of a 'skatey' feel as it's a shorter, wider board compared to the Sub Driver 2.0

      Would you recommend this board for older guys (61) and heavier 95 kg experienced 50 years surfing. I was thinking the 6’6” for paddling power but not sure how it will go in knee to head high waves .
