We were able to catch some of the action from the rail buggy race at Rush off-road park. These little monsters are pretty quick and definitely a handful to drive. Can't wait to see them on some big hills.

A dry sump and a swirl pot would help stop the white smoke plumes when the buggies are at odd, vertical angles, and (on a side note) buggy enthusiasts seem to be some well fed folk!

Just stumbled on this video. Seems to me there would be some benefits to cutting brakes that they use on the bigger rails at the dunes.

Most of these guys use cutting brakes
i miss my old buggy now. this was entertaining, the wheel spin on that red 2 seater buggy was unreal. nice rooster tails, must of had some power

Damn, crazy drivers :D . i take that 2.0 engine is minimum .scooby 2.2 or 2.5 N/A good enough for start? i dont need extreme hill climber but something that can pull itself and two persons up the hill.
most all of those were vw air-cooled bangers... probly average of 90 HP some more some less but a stock 40hp will pull u right up a dune or hill wheelies the whole way.. there geared perfect for it and rail bugs are just go carts so light and nimble

sounded subaru.. I think the only other motor there was GM ecotec and then 90% of them vw air-cooled (coolest way to go)

That’s mike Robinson you should see his buggy now he’s got a v6 Cadillac motor and 40 tires on the back it will climb almost anything at rush

What kinda engines are these buggies running...VWs, Subies?
Most common are vw, 4cyl ecotec, subaru, and 2.3 ford
most of the ones in the videos are aircooled vw engines with serious mods
Happen to know what kinda engine the one that was in the last clip of the vid was running? Almost looked like Honda v6 maybe?
