Thank you for sharing this !! I almost forgot this sound and feeling. I had a 1961 Baja Bug back around the mid 70's and hearing and seeing this. I love these buggies, this was the beginning of the growth of OHV !!!
Man I miss this stuff,very cool love a simple VW rail.I grew up in the AZ desert messing around and learning to drive in off road VW’s.love taking a fast corner hitting the cut brakes or kicking the clutch and sliding in some dirt!!!
Looks cold on the other side, going up lone pine canyon towards Wrightwood! I used to borrow my sister's Baja when I was about 16 years old, and well ... let's say it is amazing it didn't get rolled, and we would wash it all up, like we didn't take it out to play ... heh heh!

Going North up the pass you get off the exit and look across the road too the right next to the freeway entrance to get back on, there’s a access road called Santa Fe Fire Road. Take it to the Railroad tracks and everyone parks there. That little engine owes me nothing! I kick its ass every time and it loves it!!! 🤟
Take the I 15 north exit for hwy 138 go straight thru intersection while getting off I15 dirt road in other side follow dirt road till you see train trestle and park

I ride there to I live up in victorville I found a way to take dirt road from my front door to the pass

I feel the same with my buggy it has a lil 1776 in it, runs strong and is sooo much fun!!
Buggy’s are awesome! Adjust the valves and an X brace/ tubes on the hood area! To much frame flex happens without the X brace! Be safe out there!
Fortunately this buggy is super stiff!!! 👍

Nothing like driving a VW buggy, stick shift makes it all the fun. Those new canams and Razrs look nice, but now shifting. Thats no fun...
