The Nightmare Before Christmas is definitely one of those films where the music defines the movie. The soundtrack is a masterpiece and without it, I can't imagine that the story would have the same charm.

@@CheekyFest There are actually a few conductors who sit down - to be honest, I don't think I'd personally want to stand around waving my hands about maniacally for the 2+ hours a concert is.
@@leonlinton634 don't most concerts have intervals? And pauses between pieces?
@@CheekyFest There is usually 1 interval, if it's a long piece there won't be any.
7:43 definitely the best part in my opinion! The power takes the conductor off his seat and the violinists tilt with the force of their strokes. Absolutely beautiful!

Aw, man. I was waiting the whole time for Oogie Boogie's song. And it was the only song that they didn't include in this. 😔 It was still an awesome performance though.

Whoa! This arrangement is really amazing and on par with the actual film orchestration. I wish someone could make a similar arrangement for Batman Returns, all live performances don’t seem to get the sound right
This arrangement was actually done by Mark McKenzie, one of the orchestrators who worked on the original score!

I remember seeing the movie at the cinema in 1994 or so.. I was really impressed by the music.. and now I found this clip here. An excellent orchestra with one of the best conductors of our time!

A wonderful film , i have a very large collection of figures , mugs , 3D posters , socks , T shirt , clock even xmas decorations the wife thinks i'm mad , i also play in a brass band and there's nothing i'd like more than to buy the score and parts arranged for brass band .......... superb.
